Quick Question Relating to my Lockline Thread
Quick question.. I am going to call back and spaek to lockline. Now what would be my best bet to tell them, should I say I lost it, but I'm not going to get a police report, or should I say I dropped it in the pool, or that in broke in half (v400).
Also, would I most likely get a v551 since the v400 is discontinued?

poll: Bill in advance and activation fee?
for care reps: How many times a day do you get " no one ever told me about billing in advance" and "no one ever told me about the activation fee"?
For sales reps: How many new accounts a day do you see walk out the door without being explained billing in advance and activation fees? This applies to your fellow coworkers letting them leave without that info.
For the record this post is not to blame anyone for not doing it. I realizes there are alot of customers that just didnt listen when it was explained to them and that some situations arise that might cause it to happen. However i know it is happening to some degree. Just trying to figure out why it seems to be happining more latley.

TO get the online price of a cell phone on cingular.com do u have to be a new customer?
To take advantage of the online prices at cingular website do u have to be a new customer or can anyone get these phones at discounted prices?

Ok, I have been reading that some brilliant Einstein has come up with an idea to require reps to carry clipboards, I assume with all the target questions to ask, to ensure high mystery shop scores.
Which markets are these? They do not do it here (North Texas) but I want to make sure it isn't the same regional President over our markets.
My opinion on this was that if you don't know how to sell properly, carrying a clipboard is not going to help. Maybe for new hires, but existing reps should be able to use their heads better than this. You may get an artificial high score on a mystery shop, but your closing % will drop because you are going to sell like a robot.

Infrared Data transfer question....
My wife has a Nokia 3560 tdma phone and she is getting ready to order a new phone to migrate to GSM. I have a question regarding the transfer of her phonebook from her current phone to whatever new one she selects. Will she need to select another Nokia phone or will any phone with IR capabilities work?

An easy Way to avoid the "re"-activation fees
When your contract expires. DO NOT RENEW.Stay month to month. Buy a phone off Ebay cheaper then the discounted "subsidized" price at Cingular.
Example
Sony s710a
Cingular $399 w 2 year contract
Ebay as low as $350 unlocked.
If enough people did this. The only incentive to signing a long term contract is the subsidized phones and they are not really subsidized for less than you can buy them for, especially the upper end ones.
This is why I believe the business should be run where you buy he service only and buy the phones at retail outlets at discounted prices which beat the so called subsidy Carriers claim.

Moto a630 MMS help
Instead of waiting for the Cingular version to arrive, I decided to purchase the T-Mo version and had T-Mo unlock it for me.
Obviously when I put my Cingular Sim card into the phone, voice and texts work perfectly. I know what the MMS setting are for Cingular, but I cannot find the page in the phone to clear out all the T-Mo/Voicestream crap. Anyone have any idea, or have a 630 that they have unlocked and settings set?

here is an interesting one for ya.
i had a customer come in today who was billed $230.00 for a flip camera phone because some technition rejected the warrenty. My question is, can a customer return the new/referb that they sent them and get their account credited back?
They don't care about getting thier old phone back, and ultimatly want to use another lines upgrade discount to get another phone. I had them call XBM fist to see what thier options were and now he's on the horn with care trying to work out a deal were he gets to keep the phone they sent up but will credit him the diffrence of the upgrade price if he re-news the contract. any comments? thoughts? suggestions?

Just wondering if sony ericsson will make a middle class phone antyime soon?
I would like to try out sony ericsson for my next phone. I have a v551 an want a phone from sony ericsson similar to this model in features. I like the s710a but that cost too much an i like the j300a but dont want a entry level phone. Does anyone know when sony ericsson will come out will some more middle tier phones? Can anyone recommend any for me doesnt have to be sony ericsson.

anyways, i use a laptop, and i use regular cable modem access for internet with aol
i pay roughly 45 to 50 a month for the cable internet thru my cable company (adelphia)
and now i am thinking of getting cingular's unlimited data with pc card thing
right now for military people (which i am) theres a promotion going to get the Sony Ericsson GC83 pc card for free, and unlimited data connect for 60 a month which is good, right?
how much do other companies charge for unlimited data with pc cards monthly? i think verizon is like 80 and i am not sure about tmobile
mine is 60 a month for unlimited with the military discount
my question is, is the gprs/edge service reliable? i am ...

If I have my Caller ID (name and/or number) permanently blocked by Cingular, will I still show up as "ID'd" if I am in that person's cell phone book?

Voice Mail--Caller Number?
Since Dec. 2004, I keep getting this woman leaving a Voice Mail for me, thinking I am some family member. Now, my Voice Mail announces my first name and a custom message, but I guess she's not getting the hint. I even called back once after about 10 calls (after blocking my number) and telling her that she had the wrong number. She argued that she didn't ever call anyone who had a cell phone.
Is there any way to block this caller, assuming the number she leaves is the number she's calling from?
And is there any way to find out the numbers of people who have called Voice Mail? This is annoying in people will leave messages and say "call me" when they are not in my cell phone book and I'm away from home (business calls, not personal)...

Lockline is stupid!!
Get this.. I just got off the phone with lockline because my motorola v400 doesn't charge properly, chooses to stop charging at will, freezes up, and has a broken antenna. So I call up the lady and tell her my situation and she says she needs to know an exact date of when thsi happend. How the heck am I supposed to remember an exact date of when all these things were occuring in my phone!!So, I tell the lady about mid february (the 17th) is when all these symptoms were "unbearable". She says she cnat help me because I have 60 days to take care of my problem. What kind of a stupid rule is that! If my phone is out of warrenty and 60 days rule thing is overpowering me i have to now say that I "lost" my phone just to get this stupid thing replac...

when will it be in the system
I have been calling since Friday trying to order the Samsung P207 and after a lot of run around I am being told the SKU has not been loaded into your system yet. Is this normal? When will it be put in so we can order it? The website will not allow the orders to process either. help!!!
