OK, just wondering if its our area or if people are being affected everywhere. So far its just at&t that I know of. I recieved a text last night (and so have alot more customers) saying "[email protected]()Appalachia n Community Bank Alert: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 706-408-2220 to REACTIVATE your card." and those arent my numbers up there either. We have been getting tons of calls about it already. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue.

Although I normally am pretty up to date with information in the mobile realm, I've come across a situation that has brought up a few questions where I'm not really finding any definitive answers. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Scenario: I purchased an iPhone in December of '07, and as a result extended my contract two years from it's original signing (to December 5th, 2009). So, dose ATT's MMS work on a samrtphone, Blackberry, etc without a data plan?
Basically I've got my account set up with voice and everything else is pay-per-use witch I would think allow MMS to work.
I mean you can have MMS on a regular phone without a data plan.

I am looking into buying an unlocked jailbroken 2G IPhone. I love the IPhone but I have no need for the data package. I stopped by the AT&T store and was talking to the dude there and he was telling me that the IPhone will not work unless you pay for the data package. I don't believe this for a second but I would like a confirmation from someone that it will work without the data package. All I want is the phone and text messaging.

I currently have a 2G iPhone that i am using as an iPod and don't have a sim in it at all, but eventually I want to start using it as a phone. I have an AT&T line already, but i really don't want to extend my contract for a used iPhone. If I attach the IMEI and put the right data package on it will it still extend my contract when being synced to iTunes? If so is there a way around it without unlocking it?

It's been online since Wednesday night! But no one in the retail stores knows when they will have it....the few people that actually know about the phone that is. I read on several sites that the release date was 10/23 online AND in stores. Does anyone have a firm date? I'm tired of the "I haven't heard of that phone sir" or the "I don't know, call us back next week".

Simple question if I got a Samsung Rugby can I pop my iPhone sim into the Rugby and be able to text and mms with the Rugby? Then swap back into the iPhone for my normal multimedia phone use. Reason being is I wanted to be able to use a rugged phone for work and gym/exercise
