t-mobile laptop data question

i took my little brother to the t-mobile store where he activated one line on a $39.99 1000 min plan a few months ago. being he just turned 18 he had to pay a $75.00 activation fee upfront (because he had no credit). recently he just got a laptop and has comcast internet but is saying the price is kicking him in the @$$. i suggested dsl but he wants to be like me 😁 and get a laptop card. so he can roam with his pc.

he is a smartacess customer for about four months. we know he cant add a line to his plan yet. so does this mean he cant get a laptop card yet also? or will he be paying a deposit? how does this work?

Any big upgrades with the new SK3 coming in March?

im just wondering if anybody knows of any upgrades to the T-Mobile network with the SK3 comming out. And why doesn't Cingular have it? They have a network, they have PTT, they have 3G. And T-Mobile has none of these, execpt i guess there network is getting bigger. And did T-Mobile purchase some ATT wireless towers that Cinglar had? The only reason that i might go 2 t-mobile because i would LOVE to pay there data prices. Cuz i HATE having cingular with NO unlimited text plan. thanks

Grass is always greener on the other side

I work for T-Mobile and hear all the time from customers "Why doesn't tmobile have better phones like the ones (insert wireless carrier here) has?

I mean did I miss something here? Does tmobile really have that bad of phones? Am I blinded because I work there? I mean Cingular carries the same brands we do with the exception of Sony and LG which IMO are not great phones. Verizon is the same way except for their Kyoceria (spelling?) and Audiovox line up. I just think people can never be happy!

T-Mobile raising txt msg prices starting 03-01-2006

According to T-Mobile's website T-Mobile will start charging 10 cents for each text message sent and recieved. Customers who have subscribed to a text messaging package will not be effected by the increase unless they go over thier bucket of monthly alloted messages.

SMS messages will remain at 15 cents sent/recieved according to t-mobile.com

nokia 6101 issue..

i have had customers calling in left and right about these bad boys... The main concern with the 6101 is the connectivity with the earpiece.. most complaints revolve around the fact that the connection is really weak and/or they fear it will break.. does anyone else have this problem// solution?? i have been reffering customers to nokia support for this.. not sure if anyone else can help.. all suggestions would be great. THANKS! 😁

Can someone clarify the real reason why?????

I have been wondering for the longest time why T-Mobile has had such a poor selection of handsets. How long can they promote the crappy Nokia 6010? Their is no comparing T-Mobiles phone selection to the other carriers. Lets be honest, they all wipe us on the mat in this area. Is their a reason why T-Mobile is so passive when it comes to this? They have made little effort (until now but still a way to go) Its obvious that next to service plans the next most important thing to a customer is handset choice. They have done a less than satisfactory job in this department in recent years. Yes, within the last 2 months they are making a better effort with the release of the PEBL and T809. Why do they insist on only staying with Motorola, Nokia and...

Combine 2 phones on a family plan

I want to combine 2 phones on 1 family plan. I was told that if the numbers were based in different states, this is not possible. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thanks.

Compare and contrast

OK! I'm bored at work and I have been reading all of the posts about T-Mobile not stacking up to the competition in phone selection. SO!, I have decided to do a compare and contrast of T-Mobile vs. Cingular in that particular area. The following info is taken off of each carriers website so I don't wanna hear about anyone thinking that I pulled this out of my keister.
ok, so.....
Cingular's line up is as follows:

LG: My personal experience with all the GSM versions of the LG line-up is that they are great phones for a short period of time. I have not had many good experiences at all witht LG's line-up

C1500-basic color flip phone
C2000-flip camera phone
F7200-slide, PTT
T-Mobile: has had LG phones in the past and had negative feed...

Family for 2 or 4

Hi all,

Appreciate if anyone can help me out.

Contract with TM is about to expire, current plan is family with 4 lines.

Member A and B used the most while C and D use minimum minutes, will I be better off split this into 2 family plans consisting 2 lines each and switch carrier so I can get free phones from Wirefly or Letstalk, or stay with the current plan and pay $55 to upgrade for a Razor

CALLING ALL REPS!

Okay heres the situation

I have 7 Months left on my contract with T-Mobile. I have been with T-Mobile for about a year and five months, never missing a single payment. I had two previous lines and those contracts ran out (the first year) Now I have this final line with 7 Months left.

I am moving to an area where the personal coverage check shows "fair" coverage. But on the street where I'm moving I have absolutely no coverage at all, OUTSIDE! Not to mention in the house I could be moving into to!

In my current house I am in a great area but still do not recieve service in my house. This is understandable because I know how cell phones work. But at this new place I absolutely have no coverage in or outside around my house and on ...

TM Needs to Take Care of Current Customers Better

I've been with TM for a little over four years now and since this past summer they have continuously dissapointed me in their care for a long time customer. I will not spend alot of time going into everything I've dealt with, so let me just tell you the latest. I came here to read about the Samsung T809 and decided that was the phone I would like to purchase. So, I looked up my nearest T-Mobile store and headed over. Unfortunately, the girl helping me said they did not have any more, so I asked if she would mind calling another store to see if they had one. Without hesitation she called the next nearest store and spoke with a woman who assured the woman helping me that they had one. Before their conversation ended, the girl at the other stor...

OUTRAGEOUS DEPOSIT! HELP

OMG I went into a place called "absolute wireless" here in town that carries Tmobile, I went ahead and got my credit ran to see what it would take to get lines of service with them.
I need 3 lines (me, mom and sister), My credit score is around 545 or so.. yeah kinda shaky but not TERRIBLY UNGODLY AWFUL! lol...
Well the guy that ran my credit said that I would need a $500 deposit for EACH one of my lines! WTF~!!! is this for real! That's freakin $1500 just to have 3 cell phones to share in a plan! f*ck!
I almost fell out of my chair when I was told this.
Can anyone help me! The guy was so pushy with me getting nextel that makes me wonder if he is lying to me to get me to get nextel.. lol

I need help!

" I am not a troll "

I am a firm believer in this site and its designed use. What is that use? To educate people on the inner workings of cell phones, and for educated people to have educated discussion about said technology. Not to fight like little boys and girls and name call.

T-mobile & Nashville

Hi! Well I have a tough decision in my hands, some of you might even think that i'm stupid for even thinking about switching.
I currently have sprint, I've had them going into 2 years now... well anyways... They have been great but I'm bored with their phone selection. seems like every other carrier is bringing out the fun phones 🙂
I want the MAGENTA RZR that T-MOBILE has... I'm worried about the coverage tho. I am in the Nashville area and I go to Virginia, all over tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and well sometimes California.
From experience, how good/bad is the actual reception and coverage? is it even worth it? I need some honest answers.. thanks!

So since I really want a pda/smartphone it looks like I need to buy one. Does any have any recommendations? My concern is if I buy, for example a treo 650, it will not work properly with Tmobile. Also where is a good place to purchase one, other than ebay?

Limited Internet Use

I see that t-mobile has unlimited internet plans available. I don't use the internet on my phone very often (if at all), only maybe to download a few ringtones or check a few e-mails. Does T-mobile have a plan for occasional use? Or is it unlimited or nothing?
