SunCom copied Alltel!!

Alltel has been offering 5 unlimited for $5 in select markets.

Oklahoma and parts of Alabama are all I know about.

So the concept of calling select numbers unlimited goes to Alltel.
Also, I found out Alltel has being working on the concept for also 2 years.

So professor choke, go home and cry. Your SunCom tattoo is fading, just like your company!

Alltel+EvDO

Any one have any idea when Alltel will begin to deploy EvDO and the accompanying handsets? Alltel is seeming to get behind on a data standpoint if even MetroPCS has plans to launch EvDO before Alltel.. Pity, if Alltel did offer EvDO I'd hop right back to 'em.

Umm is the other Thread the only thing from the 18th?

I thought something big was supposed to be announced. The whole 10 callers thing is a joke. Alltel really needs to bring in some new phones. Their phones suck compared to the competition. I hope some of the new slim LGs are offered.

Got my Slider remix

Got it finally! I'm so happy. I went with the one year contract and I think it was the right decision for me. It's awesome so far!

contracts

I'm tempted to go for the two year contract next Monday for my Slider remix because of the price, but I really don't want to do the whole two year thing. I was thinking about the one year contract but not sure. Can anybody give me some advice about the contracts? Thanks!

Rate all the big providers...

in my market (Cleveland/Akron/Canton, Ohio) from best to worst overall if I HAD to choose I would say:

1. Alltel
2. Verizon
3. Sprint
4. Cingular
5. Nextel
6. T-mobile
7. Dobson Cellular One
8. Revol/Cricket/other metro PCS providers

I have had Alltel since they bought out GTE in my market in 2000, and it is BY FAR better than Verizon or any other carriers in my area. The average wait time at a verizon store on a sat/sun. tops 2 hours! Doesn't sound fun to me...

Alltel sceduled to make annoucement on April 18th

Alltel employees will be linked up via in-store plasma TV or live web-feed for company-wide conference discussing "the biggest announcement of the year."

Keep your eye on Alltel's stock price. Verizon has been struggling, Alltel has shown that they are willing to open their wallet and buy out other carriers throughout America. Could Alltel finally be ready to become a Tier 1 national carrier?

But then again it could just be something to do with new phones being released. The following handsets have been recently phased out: Avx-Cdm 8910al, Nok 6255i(a), Mot V710, Mot V265(2), Kyo KX1 (Soho), Kyo KX424 (Blade), KYO KX434. That Moto contract looks tempting for Alltel. New Samsung flip/camera, new LG flip/camera as well as rumors of the M...

What a let down...

The "big" announcement set for April 18th is...

The new Microsoft Office Sync flatform/software that will be used on Alltel's data network/handsets.

Imagine being able to compose / read / edit / send / receive Microsoft Word or Powerpoint, etc. documents on your Motorola Razr V3c.

Imagine it! {shakes fist}

Commission on MobiTV and MobiRadio

SFL powers-that-be are pushing hard for reps to earn commission for getting customers to use MobiTV ($10 data) and MobiRadio ($6 data) on their handsets.

How exactly it would be tracked, since it is an Axcess Application, would be another story...
