I am using Simple Freedom which is prepaid service for Alltel and my phone is a nokia 3587. I have been with this phone and service for about six months but there has been a problem which just started over the past week. I have been told by two different people that they could not reach me and the call was routed to a recording that said that this customer is not available but I do have voicemail. At about the same time that one of these calls was made, I could not send outgoing text messages. This only happens sometimes. I am pretty sure that I had a signal and the calls that I know about were made from land lines.
I live in Richmond VA and my phone shows a signal at all times. I know that I should get a signal from Alltel, and if not Ve...

I was told in store Alltels will no longer honor employee discounts but I have to call Alltel who honors if you work for a company like Duke or UNC for example?

According to phonescoop Alltel has service in 33 states.

According to the coverage map on Alltel.com it seems like they have coverage in much of the country. To be honest according to the map they have service just about everywhere except upper vermont. This is very hard to understand. When I type a boston zip code on Alltel.com it say sorry we could not locate any stores in your area. Why would Alltel place a coverage map showing they have service everywhere if infact they do not have serive all over the country.

I am assuming that if Alltel has service in Mass then it's a roaming service where they rent out Verizons signal.

🙂 Does anyone know if Alltel is going to get a pink RAZR like everyone else?

Wireless net ads for this 4th quarter were 147k, which a lot of these ads were because of prepaid.

ARPU = $52.13

Churn= 1.73%

The company added 166,000 customers with 76,000 being postpaid and 90,000 being prepaid. They added 18,000 net customers in the former western wireless markets but they lost 37,000 customers in the former Cingular markets. This comes out to the total of a net 147,000 (147k) subscriber growth for the year.

You guys know they bought out Midwest wireless and they are supposed to be expected another 400,000 to the numbers.

They now have a total of 10 million subscribers.

I've said this before but felt I had to post it again. If you can get Alltel don't even go shopping anywhere else. I've been with other big dogs in the past and to be honest with you my Alltel signal has always been stronger. The customer service is always great as well. Whenever I call customer service to add or disable a feature for my phone, the longest I had to wait to talk to someone was 3 minutes.

Everyone start talking about it at work! Let your boss's know that your not happy! As of April 1st commissions for everyone, indirect agents and corporate employee's are getting cut. They will be cutting commissions and raising compensation on data features. In other words you will have to sell a $49.99 plan and $15.00 worth of features to earn about 20% less than what you are earning now. Plus, the features have to stick for 150/180 days, just like an activation. We all know stick rate on features is about 50% so really after half of our feature commissions get charged back we will walk away earning about 35% less then we earn now. I dont know about the other indirects agents out there, but this is going to put me out of business. I am sure...

A friend of mine recently recieved a call on his T-Mobile phone from someone claiming to be from T-Mobile. My friend posted what happened on his livejournal:

"I just got a call on my cell phone from somebody claiming to be from T-Mobile and claiming to offer me a rebate. Being the suspicious person that I am, I noticed that something didn't sound quite right about the situation. He asked for my name and social security #, which I did not give. I pressed the caller for information (ie his supervisor's name, and how he had my address), and he hung up, knowing that the scam was up.

I am considering going with Alltell, because the phone selection is great compared to USCC. I am wondering if I get a phone like the PPC 6700, can I load and and unload mp3s, ringtones, pictures, etc. without using the axcess service. Are all of the bluetooth functions working?

I am looking to change phones from my current LG 5450 to either the Slider Remix or Razr V3c. I like the features of both phones,etc. I need some opinions though. I go to school in a moderately rural area and an Alltel rep in a nearby town said not to get the Razr b/c it doesn't have analog. The signal still sucks on my 5450 but i am worried about signal strength,etc so can anyone add some info. I really want a small functional, loaded phone that can be reception. Any thoughts?

I just bought the Nokia 6255i through Alltel. I was wondering about Bluetooth file transfer? Is there a way to save the files to the MMC card, b/c it seems to want to automatically save them to the phone memory. Also, is it possible to change the faceplates on this phone? I have noticed several for sale, but i dont' see a way to snap the cover off. Any help would be appreciated. 😁

I'm very unhappy with the Moto V710. Crashes all the time, camera stinks, and you can't even delete the preinstalled photos on the phone.

I would like a new phone so my choices are:
Change to the new AMP'd Mobile
Get the Razr for Alltel
Get the PPC 6700 for Alltel.
