Will the Alltel stores allow you to test out the mobile web in the store with a store phone prior to purchase. I really want to see how it works prior to even begining to purchase a phone or calling plan.

If so anyone suggest the best place to go in eastern North Carolina.

The battery life stinks, what is the best extended battery to get off Ebay, I've seen 1000 mAh, 1400 mAh, even 1500 mAh, some claim extended, some claim ultra extended, etc.

Plus I need a car charger and transflash card.

hi all, my mom just bought an lg 5000. seems to be a good phone. i was trying to load her some ringtones on there, and have found out that bitpm doesnt support the phone.

i used to have an samsung scha-670 (recently upgraded to an lg 8100) and on my old 670, i could email ringtones that i made to [email protected] as verizon is who my carrier is. is there one of these for alltell? eg [email protected] ?

if someone could tell me what that is, or another way of how to do this, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Hey I got the v3c razor, and I have the mobile phonetools. My phone connects to the program because the program uploads my phonebook and will let me send mms and text messages. However the multimedia portion of the program is inaccessible. I have called motorola and the program help line and both have informed me that Alltel has the file transfer or something like that blocked. I am willing to buy the bluetooth conversion thing for my pc if thats necessary, but I really want this to work without having to spend any more money.

What's the real deal on this phone's reliability. At two Kiosk's in our mall, one sales rep for an Alltel reseller said his broke 3 times and if he had not gotten the insurance he would have been screwed. In another booth, the rep said he would not recommend this telephone.

Both pushed the Moto 710.

What's peoples feelings about the reliability

Now that I got the V710, I'm ready to get a new phone. Which one is best out of the current choices, or will there be even better released soon?

Alltel is spinning off its Wireline business to become a pure wireless carrier in a merger with Valor to be worth $9.1 billion dollars, including $4.2 billion in alltel's debt.

Alltel will have 11 million wireless customers in 33 states.

Alltel's shareholders will own more then 85% of the merged company. (between the wireline and valor)

this lets Alltel take off $4.2 billion from its books legally after the spin and focus more on its wireless business.

Does 1 Billion sound like a lot for Midwest Wireless? WWC sold for 6 Billion but with 100 times larger coverage, GSM and more customers. Am I missing something or does this seem like a lot for Midwest Wireless or was WWC just a bargain?

With or without a plan are you charged for getting text? If you are charged for receiving text, how could you stop text from coming to avoid the charge?

We have a sister in Cancún right now, working at an orphanage and trapped in the hurricane. Is there any chance her Alltel phone (CDMA) will work down there?

Any chance Alltell will carry a phone with a full QWERTY keyboard like the LG V Verizon is offering?

Does anyone know if Alltel disables OBEX like VZW does, I am currently with Midwest Wireless which does not currently have the RAZR but they are being bought out by Alltel, and when the transaction takes place I am going to get a RAZR, but if they also disable OBEX, I will probably switch companies 🙄

I bought a used V710, a world of difference from my old Audiovox 8910. Are there any hacks, cracks, or special things I need to do with my V710 to make it optimal?

I just pretended to be a new customer on Alltel website and was able to select say a national freedom plan for $49 with all the trimmings followed by the All Access Pass for $19.99, nothing about any data plans!
