All I got from the Alltel tech is that its a known issue and Motorola is working on it, lame.

Alltel will not be offering unlimted texting on their pda phones the plans will be as followed 300txts 750txts or 1500txts...no unlimited this sucks for those of us who switched to Alltel from Verizon solely for their unlimited texting.

I am looking to switch to Alltel since everyone in my family is on Alltel but me. Problem is that I am looking for a Bluetooth and the only ones are the new Razr-don't like the keypad. The Moto V710-Class action lawsuits and charger connection problems and a Nokia 6551i.

Does anyone know of any new Flip cover Bluetooths that will be hitting the Alltel stores in the next 4 weeks? Sure would be nice if they brought in the new Samsung A940 like Sprint.

Will there be even newer cooler phones coming to Alltel soon or is this it?

I stopped by my local store just to see the new phones in person. Wow, I fell in love with the Apache, it's not as big as I thought it would be. It's rather light also and I love how the keyboard slides open and the screen can change from landscape and portrait modes. And the antenna looks cool. I was told by a rep that you could use the Wifi freely anytime without a data plan?

I want to get the Apache instead of an aircard. The modem feature has been disabled by Alltel. Is there a software patch to re-enable the feature?

Does Alltel offer any sort of standard upgrade program? Will they offer it to their aquired WW / Cell One customer base?

A friend has Cell One (WW) and signed a new 2 year 4-5 months ago when they added their daughter to their plan. Problem is his phone is now 2 years old and he has 19 months left on his agreement (due to the extention). Currently Cell One said too bad, was hoping Alltel had better customer retention options.

Any ideas?

I don't understand I checked ALltel website and pretended to be new customer and buy the Apache but it did not offer me any PDA plan, just the regular all access $19 unlimited text, pic and mobile web on top of a regular plan. Will this be how its done?

Will it be unlocked to use on any wireless network as much as one wants, just like a regular palm pilot. In other words will it not use regular mins and just be free wifi?

Okay, here's the deal. I have been researching the HTC Apache/PPC-6700 and think it is a beautiful device. As a current owner of a Kyocera 7135, getting this new phone would definitely be a step up. I understood from this site that Alltel (My current carrier) may accept the HTC Apache "tentatively" and called to inquire on this. When I first asked, the woman said "We don't." When I prodded a little further, I managed to get out of her: "Well, some Alltel stores may allow you to do it, it's just a matter of finding a store that will--but since it's a Sprint phone you may have issues with reception and we can't guarantee it.." Well, I think that last part about reception was BS, but ANYWAYS--HERE'S THE GOOD PART: Not sure if this is alr...

I'm finding that my new V710 takes worse quality pictures then my old Audiovox 8910. Could somebody tell me what to make the settings at for lighting, contrast, resolution, etc...How to get quality photos?

....seems alot of employees are saying it's flimsy and disappointing. Darn.
