News regarding earpiece volume
I spoke to John Sturycz with Motorola's consumer advocacy office today (see my other post on the speakerphone with flip closed). I asked him about the problem with the low volume in the earpiece section of the phone. He said they are aware of the problem and a fix WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN MID-NOVEMBER. Frustrating, I know, but at least we are getting a fix.
Using regular headphones to listen to mp3s
an adapter for the 2.5mm jack check it, read the comment re: v710 on bottom - i think this is how most work but cheap enough...

Picture Messaging Down?

Is it just me or is picture messaging not working correctly today, and last night.
I was trying to send myself the Flavor Flav vagabond wallpaper I just made, and it doesn't seem to go thru. (Now I just need an rude mp3 of him yelling his name for my ringer 😛 )
I check my account and the pix msg basic code is still there.
My text messages go thru ok, but no pix mail yesterday night or today.
Can anyone help me try to figure this out, I have tried to email from multiple addresses to no avail.

Does anyone know how to set the voicemail and pin number???
I tried setting the voice mail along with the pin number in the message setting, voice mail number, but it doesn't work. If i do not have a voice mail, this feature will automatically dial my pin number. However, when I actually do have a voice mail (WHICH IS WHEN I WOULD CALL MY VOICEMAIL BOX) it does not dial my pin number. Is there something that I'm not doing, or is this one of many feature that just doesn't work?

NEWBEE - PLS help??? Lotso questions -
Hi, I just got the V710 (third one) because verizon cant trouble shoot an echo. BTW, I finally retired my 7868W startac after 72,000 minutes and a swim in lake george... Here's My questions: what is this g-mail Im reading about? also, how do you send pictures via the bluetooth? I can buy the adapter for the pc via best buy for $30 - thought that would be neat. Which is the best brand headset to buy (wireless?) and finally, besides the volume opcodes that I did, what else can be updated? any firmware/software updates - and where do I get them?

Anyone know of a legitemate, believable reasons to return V710?
Anyone know of a good, believable reason that I would be able to return the V710 and exchange it for a new one? I am past my 15 days (had it almost 4 weeks), I have the low earpiece volume and scratches on the outside above the camera. I just would like to start over and try a new phone. At least this way, for one, I can take precautions concerning the scratches on the outside, and hopefully get a phone with better earpiece volume. I just don't want to get all the way to the Verizon dealer and have them tell me that I'm S.O.L. and stuck with the phone I have.

Whole top flip portion seems loose...
Does anyone else's entire top flip portion (with both screens and the camera) "wiggle" slightly from left to right? I don't notice it so much when it is all the way open, but rather in between the fully open & fully closed position. This is my 3rd V710 and I don't think my others did this, but I'm not positive. If I find that they all do it - then no worries, but if I find that mine is the only one - back to the Verizon store I go once again.... Is there a limit on how many times they will swap phones? jeese.... Am I being too critical about this phone? I just want a solid unit that will withstand my 2 year contract. Any input is appreciated. Thanks all

backdoor to turn up volume on 710!!
not sure if you guys have seen this, i was on vacation for 2 weeks, but i got this from HOFO which has helped my phone considerably..
This reportedly only works on some v710 handsets. There seem to be at least two different software revisions going around sharing the same version number. · Enter the "Opcode Menu" by pressing: MENU 048263 * (you'll have to enter it rather quickly). · Enter 54* and press OK. This will suspend the phone and dim the backlight. · Press the external camera button to turn the backlight back on. You will see "SUCCESS". Press BACK. · Enter 5*0*15 and press OK. This will max out the system volume of the handset. You can use any number from 0-15 as the third digit, but even at level 15, the phone could be louder...

Reasons to wait to buy?
I was thinking of waiting for a couple of weeks, but not past the Oct. 11 deadline for the manufacturers rebate, to buy the phone. I just was thinking that there would be some manufacturing quirks to work out, but I dont want to wait too long. I'm not thinking that there will be a firmware update or anything, but ....
Does this sound like a good strategy?
(I just hope that if they do update the phone, it won't be the v710a or something and the early buyers are stuck in the cold. C'mon with that OBEX!!!)

HELP ME, Accessories at business prices....
Earlier when i first bought my v710 i printed out the business price page and got them to match the price on the case helping me get it for 12.99..... Anyway i tried going back to the bookmark and it has sense been close/moved. And i can no longer access it. Can anyone give me an update link so i can get me a data cable. Any help would be greatly appreciated! 😁

voicemail number edit
is there a way to edit the phones built in Voicemail number (*86). i want to insert pauses, my security id, and (#). so when i call voicemail or use my BT headset command "voicemail", the phone will automaticly enter my security id and (#). i have created a contact "voicemail" to do this, but then i have to say "name dial", and then "voicemail" when using BT. i just want to be able to say "voicemail", and not "name dial", and have this done for me.

Bought a USB cable, and a 128 meg TF
Serial cable is too slow and p2kman doesn't like it... and the price was right on yon TF card form amazon.com...
