Motorola V710

I was all excited when this phone was finally being released. Im not up for a promotion, but I was prepared to spend 420$ on the phone a week after it was out....until I got to really look at it,at the store. It is HUGE, I thought it was a public payphone when I first saw it on display. 🤣 OK, but I can deal with that, I started to play with the menus a little and immediately realized it was like all the rest. Motorola menus are not user friendly(until you get used to it) unlike LG phones which I believe is one of the simplist menus. Ok, Ok I can deal with that, but finally the buttons on the floor model were almost completely popped out of the handset. What a piece of CRAP. Cheezy plastic panels being held on with some bad glue. I went to demo this phone in the Verizon store yesterday and was surprised that the ear piece was so limited. I just moved a fraction of an inch and couldn't hear anything. Why would anyone design a phone that the ear piece can't be heard?????? Isn't this a primary funciton of a phone, i.e. to properly hear a conversation?

I ended up with the Samsung SCH-A670, which overall appeared to be a much better phone. Much higher quality materials, much smaller and far superior reception and sound. I understand everyone loves the bluetooth stuff and SD cards but shouldn't a phone just be clear and allow an easy conversation to flow? When did the quality of sound become secondary to all other phone features? 😳

I'm using this BT headset with my v710. I love it. One question, is there any way to have the caller id say the computerized voice through the headset when a call comes in? This would have been a very handy feature I fear was not included. Anyone?

Also, has anyone put anything over the lens for protection from scratches?

Other than "Get It Now" is there any way to get games on this phone???

I'm confussed on what FM radio headset to get. There is the one that is powered with a AAA battery and the other one uses the phones battery. Does anyone have eaither of these, if so, which one?

I know the HS810/820 diffs have been discussed pretty heavily, I am leaning towards the 810 cause of the mic. Do people who have the 820 or another headset without a boom mic find it ok?

I have ran live update on Mobile Phone Tools and am at version 2.21f (apparently latest) and have the proper driver for the phone. Using the data cable, I am able to sync with the phone book and calendar but cannot get an internet connection. For 1x I'm using id myphone#@vzw3g.com, password vzw, dialing #777. For quick 2 net, I'm using qnc for id and password and dialing #777 and it's not working. I did get 1x to work through DUN but not qnc (says id or password incorrect). Neither will work through mobile phone tools or Verizon's Mobile Office software. Any suggestions?

Also, using bluetooth, I'm unable to get MPT to recognize the phone. I'm able to dial out using bluetooth and DUN so the bluetooth connection is working. It seems MPT wan...

The picture ID on the front screen is RIDICULOUSLY SMALL!! Why did they even bother? I'm guessing there's NO WAY to fix this at all...?

Very disappointed when I git to RS this evening to see it first hand. I thought I was holding my home cordless phone! The LG VX-7000 looked oversized to me, but the v710 looks bigger, eventhough they are the same size.
The screen color is amazing though and I like the speaker quality. After carrying a v60i for a couple of years I don't know if I can get used to this one on my hip.
Hopefully Verizon will carry the v810.............. but the v710 is at the top of my list if not!

when i hooked up the usb adapter for sandisk it said my computer didn't have a high speed usb port. is there anyway that i can upgrade to make the usb ports that i have high speed?

I keep trying to email ringtones to my phone and when I try and open the file i get "Attachement Dropped: of type:

Any ideas on getting the dialer or Tap to Connect to work? It dials the number, rings once and then disconnects.

I know this has been addressed a million times already, but it's so hard to sort through the 386 pages in the forum to find the answer you're looking for.

I tried sending my phone an mp3 last night to use as a ringtone. Followed instructions carefully, did everything right, registered w/ VZWpix.com and the site said I successfully sent the file to my phone. Lo and behold, I never received it on my phone.

What's wrong???
