What happens if a software update is released?

Hey everyone I'm not really sure about this but if a new software version does come out and some of the "bugs" are fixed, wouldn't people just be able to take their phones into a vzw store and get their phones updated with the new software? I really want to buy this phone and I'm probably going to get it in the next couple of days but maybe I can hold off on that if your phone cannot be updated. Thank you for any information.

Great news!!!

I just got off the phone with Verizon Wireless and the lady who I spoke to informed me that the V710 is definitely in fact scheduled to be released on May 21st. She said if you want to be one of the first 710 people to buy the phone then to show up at a verizon store first thing in the morning.

The Functionality of Bluetooth regarding the Motorola v710

I emailed Motorola and asked them regarding the Motorola v710, "Can you connect to Mobile Phonetools via bluetooth and transfer Mp3s and pictures and videos and contacts?" They answered back stating "Thank you for contacting Motorola e-mail support. We really appreciate your interest in our brand and our products.

I have to trade in my v710 for a new one, the external display completely went blank.

The external screen of the v710 went blank it shows no picture, nothing when some one calls or i press a button on the side it lights up but its just dark blue no picture no time nothing! i told radioshack and they said the only way to fix it is to get a new one on tuesday. Even without the external screen this phone is amazing but you always need a outside display for caller id so im gettin a new one on tues. My question is has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know maybe how to fix this. Thanks any answers will be greatly appreciated.. πŸ™‚

Verizon CD that is included with phone says that BlueTooth Supports Syncing

I wonder if when released from Verizon they will support bluetooth syncing like the CD says.

I have the phone and haven't been able to get it to sync with bluetooth and am planning on getting the USB cable from Radioshack today to sync it.

What can TF do for me?

What are people planning on using a TF card for? Is it simply to store pictures and mp3s? Just wondering if it's worth buying one.

Off Subject But Interesting

Motorola To Ship New MP3 Portables

By Doug Olenick -- TWICE, 7/30/2004 7:31:00 AM

New York β€” Motorola will expand its presence in the portable MP3 player business later this year with the introduction of three models, including one hard-drive-based unit that the company hopes can challenge Apple’s iPod.

The models, which were co-developed with MP3 player maker Rio, have a sports motif and are expected to start shipping during the third quarter. Motorola worked with Rio on both the industrial design and software.

The M500 features a 5GB hard drive and is slightly wider and thicker than a credit card. It uses a cellphone battery that can connect to any Motorola-based battery charger. Like a cell battery, the M500’s is replaceable, ...

Volume on phone

😒 I'm trying to figure out why the volume on my phone seems to be so low all the time. It is difficult to hear someone talking without the use of the speakerphone...which works awesome by the way! Any help? My older Motorola (V60C) was perfectly fine, and this is a huge disappointment.
Besides for this problem, the phone is great. I have to figure out how to get rid of that silly flower upon shut-down and start-up. 😁

Another Stupid Verizon Decision!!!

They let motorola release the v710 and almost all the bluetooth features are turned off except for the ones that let you buy BT accessories.

why wouldn't there be the ability to sync contacts and calendars with a Mac/PC?
They tested this phone for months and they didn't think this was a feature that we would want at launch? every other BT phone adhears to the BT OPEN STANDARD. as a manufactuer or phone company you have to make a conscious decision to turn this standard OFF.

buying a bluetooth enabled device should get you all the features that the conglomerate of companies have agreed upon are put in the standard. you'd be pissed if your DVD player didn't allow you to play alternate audio tracks or your compact flash card only ...

Buyer Beware. camera is horrible

OK, I have the phone. i will say the camera quality is far from a 1.2 mega pixel. I have a digitial camera that is a 1.3 and the phones pictures look absolutly nowhere near the quality. the pix are very grainy. and i have tried to adjust the resolution and settings. also, the phone freezes/locks ups on me alot, and i a draw a no service signal often.

otherwise the phone is pretty good. i give it a 8 out of 10.

anyone who has the phone agree? have the same problem? responses are welcome

V 710, Bluetooth, MAC OS X Genius's, Guru's Etc.

I would imagine I am bringing up an already discussed subject, but the forum is so large now it is hard to sort out the facts from the comments. I am looking for any site where there is good detailed information on connecting a V710 to a MAC powerbook for transferring files and syncing contacts, calenders etc. I truly appreciate the help and will not take the smart a** comments personally. Thanks

I got one, my thoughts and issues....

Well, I just got a Chrysler 300c with the Uconnect and that finally pushed me over the edge to buy a bluetooth cell phone. This is the first cell phone I had since my brick in a bag in 1993.

I first bought a Sony Ericsson T637 with Cingular. Bluetooth sync with the computer (pc and mac) was WAY cool. Super easy to put all my contacts on the phone. Even transfer files via bluetooth. This was my first camera phone. The pics sucked. Very low res. But the phone was small and it linked with my car. It even had the signal strength and battery level displayed on my car. But Cingular service wasn't quite up to Verizon's in my area (from what everyone told me) so I took it back after 3 days.

Today I picked up my V710 at a Radio Shack ...

BREW 2.0 (Get It Now) Incomplete?

Ok so I just got my v710 the other day. It's an amazing phone, but the picture quality isn't so great... maybe only slightly better than the old vx6000.

Anyway, I was playing around with Get It Now and noticed that many of the applications advertised in Verizon's Get It Now brochure are missing, such as AOL instant messenger and Mapquest. These were two applications I was looking forward to, so if any of you have information why they are missing from the Get It Now "shopping cart" I would appreciate it.

Do you think they are features that were never meant for the v710, or do you think that they just haven't appeared yet because the phone hasn't been released through Verizon?

Just got it, love it but....

Hey everyone,

So I just got it and I love it! It's a really nice phone. Everyone at RS wanted to see it cuz even the employees hadn't seen one yet. The size is great (I don't know why everyone was bitching), the keypad ultra nica, speaker phone super loud, voice recognition is the best I've seen...

I still gotta learn how to work a lot of the functions.

I got a question for those who do have it. My indoor pics are all coming out like crap 😒 . All the outdoor pics look awesome. I tried the light and its not even centered to the center of the pic. Tried all the pic setup stuff and nothing. Is somebody else having a similar problem? I hope the camera didn't come defective. ☹️
