Help would be appreciated

I've waited a long time for this phone and have been pretty dissapointed with the complaints being made from everybody that just got one. So for the people that do own one, are the software issues, short battery life, and low phone volume bad enough to not buy this phone?? is the volume extremely low, or just lower than what people are used to?? get back at me and let me know if i really should spend 350 bucks on this thing.

Pictures of phones, boxes, etc.

Ok! So who wants to be the lucky person to take pictures of the the v710 (with a digital camera, not the v710's camera). If you own one, please be generous. Take pictures of the phone, box, acessories, etc. It would be GREATLY appreciated. If you need web space, email me; RJCusick at optonline.net, and I'll post the pics for you. PLEASE share the wealth! I want this phone so badly, but I've only seen one testing model in person. I want to see and hold the released version. Anyway, pictures will do for now. 🙂 . P.S: does the v710 come with a good belt clip that allows you to answer the call with the phone still in the clip, or do you have to take it off?

Confused About the Price -- Help

I'm in the middle of a "New Every 2" contract, so I may not get the discount at my Verizon Wireless store. If I buy it at Radio Shack (and they do have it available now here in Las Vegas), it will cost $513.00, according to them. Did anyone get any discounts or rebates buying his through Radio Shack? If the list is $513.00, how does Verizon Wireless get it down to $249, as they said it would cost in their press release?

MP3 Ringtones

I found a cool program for making ringtones, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get them to my phone since no file transfer via bluetooth and I don't yet have a transflash card.

The program if anyone wants to get it is at
http://www.ringtoneripper.com/ »

the company that makes it has a cool and cheap site, but they don't appear to work with verizon.

Let me know if you know how to send them to your phone, I tried using the vzwpix address but it dropped the attachment.

For people who think SW will solve every prob.

Your dreamin. it will probably take 5-6 months for a software version to come out and when it does everyone will find out something new to go wrong with the phone. Everyone has to realize that no phone is perfect or will ever be because they are mass produced and problems and glitches will happen. Since the phone came out ive seen so many posts that sw will cure all problems but realistically they are just never happy even when it came out too soon. So it will be at least a year b4 anything great happens w/ the v710! sorry for the rant 😁

V710 and bluetooth/MAC and MPT2.0

I spoke to Motorola tech support 2 times. the first person didn't know that radio shack was already selling the phones so couldn't help. the second rep was better. he told me that so far there isn't any support for MAC OS bluetooth yet. and as for the Mobile Phone Tools program, well the program doesn't support the V710 fully yet. your options are small. the phone book will not yet let you add a photo for the phones picture caller id. you have to physically take a photo of that person and save it for that persons number. doesn't help much if you have friends that are in california...also you can't make mp3's or upload ring tones or photos because the MMC program doesn't show up as an option. the rep said that because the phone is so new that...

New Every 2

FYI: Radioshack started selling the v710.

If you have $100 for new every 2, then you must buy the v710 from a Verizon Store. Radioshack willnot/cannot honor the new every 2 rebate. I just bought the phone, had it for a few hours and returned. Before returning the phone I made the Radioshack guy call their VerizonRep and make sure about the new every 2 rebate, and they confirmed that it can only be used at a Verizon Store.

Don't know how valid this is but I believe Verizon will be offering the phone on August 11th.

Good deal on 12 in 1 USB 2.0 card reader

I just bought a 12 in 1 card reader. dam small for the for the capability. its 3.5" USB 2.0 so you can max out the speed of the memory card it's self. I bought it for $2.49 + $11.98 S&H. Over all its a good price even though the shipping is over priced. Here is a good review http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/12-in-1-card-rea der-brando-review.html and here is the link to E-bay where I bought it http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem &item=3829501844&category=43450&sspagename=rv i:1:1 . only about a day left 65 available. I bought my trans flash at amazon.com haven't gotten it yet.

Just traded the V710 in

Yeah I liked the phone, but the hype was way higher than the performance of this phone. If it was $100 cheaper I would've kept it.

Display Shut Off - Software Glitch

I believe there is a software glitch when 1) using the screen saver with the phone unplugged, 2) screen blacking out when plugged in.

1) With the screen saver off, your display will stay on as long as your current "display timeout" setting.

With the screen saver on, your display will only stay on as long as the screen saver delay setting plus the backlight setting.

For example, if your backlight setting is 50s and your screen saver delay is 1 minute, the display shuts off after 1 minute 50 seconds (assuming your display timeout setting is at least 2 minutes). If backlight setting at 50 seconds, screen saver setting at 5 minutes and display setting at 10 minutes, display goes black at 5 minutes 50 seconds.

If so, the screen save...
