Motorola V710

...on this forum even though I have been reading it since January 2004. I remember when the V710 forum was at twenty-something pages. That was a hundred pages ago! Amazing what some guys are willing to say to get a rise out of others. Even with all the lying and unintentional misinformation, this forum still has had plenty of solid information as to what the phone will be like. Does anyone know if/when Moto plans on releasing V710 info in the developers forum? You'd think if the phone is coming out in the next couple of months they would give 3rd party developers a crack at it? They've got other unreleased phones there like the C380 and E398 but no V710. I've also read there haven't been any apps available for V710 in GIN (as reported by those of you that have the phone already). Are they trying to prevent v710 3rd party apps for some reason?

Ok from what I gather...I feel that the following release dates are probable:

Supposedly, VZW stores get their shipments tomorrow...7/13/04...however...they can't be released until 7/22/04? That sucks...the shipment part doesn't though...hopefully the stores can sell them sooner...opinions.

Mid-July Week: This would be today 7/12/04-7/17 or 7/19 depending on how you look at it...I'm hoping it will be for sale the 14th, 15th, or 16th...that is "Mid-July" but I dunno I'm just praying...opinions?

If you go to the search page on vzw.com, and search for v710... it brings up 3 results... even though the v710 isn't on these pages... you can tell that the search strings have been updated. Soon my fellow v710 worshipper, soon it will be our day... (evil laugh) oooohahahahh ooooooooooohahahahaha... lol...

To the person asking why worry about a camera in phone: I do because I have the phone within arms reach 7x24.

My digital cannon is for vacations, holidays, and times when I need a higher quality image than what the v710 will provide.

Phone size...I say let them grow so long as they are comfortable to wear on a belt clip.
I've been wap serfing on a 3 line screen, and I can't wait to get my hands on the v710 large screen.

Are the bigger cities going to get the phone first, if so when will they be coming to smaller towns and cities...........so how long of a delay would it be?

I work at Verizon, and we still don't have the phones, but the owner of the store recieved a phone call from Motorola and came back with some news. The V710 will arrive at our store on 7/15, but we cannot release it until 7/22 because we want to let the vx7000 to stay in the spotlight for a couple more weeks.

Does anyone know if the V710 phone can take pictures in SepiaTone? I like the look of those old time faded photos. If the v710 can do that, im gonna get one. I like to dress up my family in those old ragtime western clothes from the Jesse James era (not to be confused with the motorcycle innovator) and take pictures and email them to my friends.

I would even buy 2 of those v710's if it could do that. Especially if they have the buy one get one free deal.

Well, I'm returning my LG VX7000 today, since want to try out the Motorola V710, I'm sure going to miss the blue little fella, it's such a great phone!

I must say that, overall, I'm very pleased with the phone. I just wish it had speaker phone. I also wish it were all silver, but that's personal preference.

I have 23 ringtones on it, all of which I uploaded with a Futuredial LG VX6000 cable and BitPim software.

I also love the fact that I'm able to download the pictures on the phone with BitPim to my computer, to e-mail of whatever.

Well, now it's a more waiting for the V710, if I find anything wrong with it, I'll happily purchase the VX7000 again, but not before having the V710 for a few days...
