Motorola V710

nothing too important. when i went to get the 7000 for its "15 day try out period" the sales rep told me that they dont know a thing about any new phones that come out until they see them on display the day of their release.

Just a heads up, we received our shipment in today and they will be available for sale on Thursday morning when he doors open. I've been waiting for this phone for as long as you people. Have fun with your new toy boys and girls.

Apparently they were supposed to be released today. I called SanDisk direct sales today, and they told me to call customer service, who in tern told me the cards were availible to the public, but couldn't tell me where i could get one.

I tend to think that verizon stores are going to try and make a killing on all these accessories, so it wouldn't surprise me if Verizon is waiting to ship out phones, until what time they can ship out accessories (like the cards) too, because people are more likely to buy them though Verizon stores @ the time they buy the phone. Therefore if the cards were released today, next week seems like a reasonable time for the phones to be on sale. Once more, just meaningless speculation, sorry.

The 710 is a pipe dream until the 2nd generation of it comes out.

I'm offering a Sony-Erikson T608 Already set up to work on Verizon. Call Verizon and give them the ESN.

The phone has SPRINT written on it, so if you want it for Sprint, everything will work if you take it in and let them reset it.

But as of now, It's a VERIZON phone. I had it out in Chicago this past weekend, and it worked great.

Hey, just thought that I would let everyone know that the Bluetooth banner that I posted about last Friday is still firmly in place at the Verizon store. A couple of things about this are encouraging to me:

1) The banner has not yet been taken down. I would think that if this phone has really been postponed until August there would be some pressure for them to take it down.

2) The banner has the Verizon logo printed on it. This would indicate to me that Verizon has developed advertising for a bluetooth phone (and the V710 is the only one on the horizon correct?) and has shipped this advertising to stores. This would seem to suggest that they are preparing for the launch.

spoke to one of the guys i talk to semi-frequently at my local vzw store here in ga and he told me, though it seemed a little odd, that the v710 has not even entered testing at this point. now, obviously, this is a lie and he's full of sh!t, but it makes me wonder just how much the vzw reps really have on this thing. i know they gotta keep it quiet because of the contest run by moto, but damn it....guess i'm just annoyed that i was lied to. (my two much cooler vzw guys i usually speak with just are kinda like "yeah it's a cool phone.")

VZW is really behind. Just go to the phones section of phone scoop and look at how many new phones have been released! VZW can't compete when it comes to phones! Not bashing, just stating the facts. How sad this is considering VZW charges more for their plans than any other carrier in the market. Come on VZW, use that money to get your customers what they would like to have or lower your rates on your plans until you can satisfy customer needs. You expect more when you pay more!

Keep in mind that MOTO has not yet changed its Promotion date.

Although this is no guarantee of a July release, it is encouraging, especially since many are predicting an August release.

If the posters here know it won't happen in July, then my guess is VZW/MOTO should know this as well and would not wait until the last minute to change the promotions deadline unless they felt they could met the July delivery.

I'm sticking, confidently to a date between the 13th - 23rd of July.

like everyone here, Ive been waiting for this damn v710. in the mean time, my t720 just **** the bed and totally doesnt work. I dont have insurance on my phone, but I suppose I can add it quickly and claim my phone broke?

anyways, what could I do? i dont want to waste my "upgrade" on another phone besides the v710, but it seems im going to have to wait atleast another month before it comes out...if thats the case, I wont even have a phone for the month.

what can I do to get a temp phone or something? or buy like a cheap LG 6000 or 4500 without wasting my upgrade???

I'm sorry if this is slightly off topic, but given the amount of stupid posts in this forum I felt that this post would provide the basis for an intellectual discussion regarding newer phones coming out which share similar features.

I am in love with the v710, however it doesn't sport one feature which is something I and my company are now looking at: CDMA and GSM combined compatability within the same phone.

There is a new Samsung A790 which now supports this feature, yet I've heard mixed reviews. Verizon has this phone now available through their corporate plans. We are looking at it, yet I'm not sure I really want anything other than a Motorola (or a Nokia)....for that matter...

why would they change the deadline of the contest to august 1st if the phone STILL wont be out by then? bc of this i believe the phone will be out sometime in july. motorola and verizon just can't be THAT pathedic with their release dates, can they?

I defenetly find this to be a very informative and nail biting Forum. This phone sounds like its going to be the next big thing, and I can't hardly wait till that bad boy is in my hands.

I do not believe the phone is in because it would of been collaborated by other Verizon employee cave dwellers. IF YOU CAN FIND ONE WHO KNOWS WHAT GOING ON!!!!! TALK ABOUT BEING KEPT IN THE DARK. It states these contacts are for accredited members of the media, maybe if they get enough e-mail they will come clean, they owe us. there are also other contacts on other pages specifically the personal communications division which handles their cell phones.

Does anybody here think that the phone will be out for sale on July 22 or anytime around then. And how much do you think it will cost for retail price? Sorry if these questions have already been answered. Thanks I want this phone bad!

2 years ago, anticipating the release of the A310, I bought (w/2yr contract) from Verizon 1st day. One month later, Radio Shack offered the phone for half (or less) price {w/2yr} than I had paid to Verizon. This could happen again...

Couldn't help but wonder if Radio Shack sold a different stock. I have had no probs with my phone (from Verizon direct) but read many posts of others suffering problematic phones especially from the first round Radio Shack sales
