Train & Gain, Part.....Ah Hell who knows?
Well, out of boredom, I called Program Headquarters to see as to when the phones will be shipped out....Funny thing is, they said that they would be shipped out by the 23rd (I already knew this) but they said that they haven't even *received* the phones yet to even ship.
Just thought it was interesting.
No worries about it though...I'm enjoying using this Blackberry a friend at work gave me.

recording your own ring tones
No, I don't mean ripping a CD and creating your own MP3 ring tone, I mean using the "record a sound" feature to actually record one.
I have a Yorkshire Terrier who is normally quiet and docile, but if someone DARES to ring HIS DOORBELL he goes off like the house is being invaded by Huns.
So now my phone barks when my wife calls me from home. 😁

I guess this really isn't a forum after all
Well leave it up to Rich Brome to remove my review....I thought we were all encourraged to post what we thought of certain models of phones. And when I do, it appears that this is not truly a free speech enviornment, but a communistic dictatorship. Guess you can only post if you have something positve to say after all huh Rich???

Does the camera have this focus issue?
A few months back when the S700i was released, I read on "mobileburnforums" (a phone website forum) that you have to be extremely still to capture a good focused picture with the S700i. If you move even a little when taking the pic, the result is a very blurry pic. Does the S710a have this problem too or can u still take a very good pic with some minimum movement? Thanx for the input guys. 🙂

Camera glitch in my phone?
The good news is I got my phone! It is sooooo much smaller than I thought it would be. Awesome sound and the speaker phone is great. I swear I'm going to scratch the screen with my earings though! LOL
The bad news is, I seem to have a little glitch in my camera. I noticed it as soon as I turned the camera on. There appears to be two little blue dots on the camera in my phone. I thought maybe when I took the picture and saved it, it would go away, but nope, clear as daylight in the middle of the picture as these two little blue dots. Anyone else have this problem? I never had this happen in any of my other camera phones, and yeah its a small problem, but it bothers the heck out of me.
Should I go get it checked out or leave i...

Problems Opening Battery Case
Guys,
I am having difficulty opening the battery case of all things. I am placing my fingers on the silver part and trying to slide the case downward. Is there a trick to it?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

TO gjh311:
Since you think this phone is such a piece of crap.... Why don't you just mail it to me, or you could log in to the TrainGainSE website & list my address as your shipping addrsss.
Surely you wouldn't mind, since this phone sucks so bad.
You should give it to someone who would really appreciate it.

Using Gmail from your S710a
Okay, it's not fully working yet, but I managed to get it to go further than anyone else has posted so far.
Right now my phone is "hung" on the "Receiving emails" screen. Which is better (I guess) than getting a TSL/SSL handshake error, right?
I managed to get past the TSL/SSL error by changing the domains to pop.gmail.com and smtp.gmail.com instead of the more logical gmail.com.
Other than that I just followed gmail's instructions.
Any idea for the next step? (Getting it to actually download instead of hanging?) Or is this the same place everyone else got stuck and I just missed the posts?

A Question regarding memory...
Here's a question for those of you who already have the phone...
On the spec page here on PS it states that there is 32mb of storage space on the phone... I know that it comes w/ a 32mb Memstick duo, but is there also 32mb built-in? This would make it a total of 64mb out of the box. If so, then that's great. Nokia usually tops off around 8mb built-in & 32mb MMC totaling 40mb out-of-box.

New Sony Ericsson Phones
Anyone see those new Sony Ericsson phones on the front page? The K750 and W800 look kind of tempting to me, the W800 especially... But then again, so does the S710a still. And it appears the W800 will lack the 850 band... I dunno... 😕
