how is this phone as far as text messaging? im probally going to get it i just want to make sure itll be ok texting. i dont want anther phone that takes 5 minutes to reply to a text.

I wanted to know from people who switched over from AT&T to cingular to get the Sony Ericsson S710a if the reception is good... I thought I read somewhere that the reception wasnted good and people went back to AT&T.. Was interested b/c I just switched to get this phone..

Trying to send an email with my phone, do you have to have email service through SBC yahoo, earthlink, or bellsouth, to be able to email with this phone ? I have my "mycingular" email account, but im not sure if this will work

i read somewhere on howardforums that a guy got one in chinatown for 200 bucks. not sure if i believe it or not. regardless, anyone in NYC found a good place to pick one up. I know i'll get gouged if i go to a cingular store. Might be able to walk in to one of the shady places in times square or something. Any one have any ideas?

and it has nothing to do with the s710a, its SE in general, we need to be able to use custom sounds for text message alerts..cause the ones that come with the sony's blow.

DUDE, i used the handsfree setup in my car and it freaking rocked. I get easily excited about gadgets and stuff like this, as you guys prob do. I was able to dial by voice, accept calls, make calls, and have a phone book all done by pushing a button on the steering wheel. If you guys have bluetooth connection in your car i suggest you use the handsfree feature it freaking rocks

I have a nextel i730, just purchased a cingular s710a, i want to transfer all the phone #s onto my cingular sim card when it gets here in the mail. Can I take my nextel sim, put it in the cingular phone, and is there like a "download phonebook" feature where I can download all the numbers to my new phone?

Anybody know if it's possible to make the clock larger..or center screen?

i dont think this meanz much to most but i called back.. i wanted to triple check lol the status.. so the lady i was talking to went right into the computer screen that shows inventory and shows all fedex informations.. and it reads in progress which i guess means its waiting for fedex to pick it up and scan it.. she also stated that it shows that it is very much so available and that there is 242 phones available.. so i dont know why everyone says back ordered or why the system is slow as hell

😕 I wonder if lockline ins. will cover the S710...??? Has anyone heard either way???

Do you think this phone can play WMA files.. Id so you could store alot more Mp3s on the 128MB Memory chip!!

I haven't gotten this phone yet, but wondering how the mp3 ringtones work.. Can you make your own Mp3 ringtone yourself or do you need to download the from the net.. Also does the phone come w/ a wire to connect to the computer when you buy it from cingular..

Also know of any good Mp3 ringtone site..

I have had my phone for like 3 days and i am so paranoid on the screen getting scratched. Anyone out there have a solution for this. I cant let my baby get scratched.

All the themes I see for the S710a either involve some half naked chick or some really gay patterns/designs/colors/pictures. I'd really like to make my own. If anybody knows, please fill me in, thanks! 🙂

I've been reading on HowardForums and elsewhere that speed is a big problem. Unfortunatly for me, I wasn't able to get the order in through cingular before it was backordered. Decided to cancel backorder and check out the local cingular stores to see if they carry it. They don't. ACK!

Still, is the speed so bad that I'm going to be frustrated out of my mind? On a scale of 1-10?

If I have a Bluetooth Modem can I Sync it to my phone and transfer files..
