LG VX-8100

a few things to consider, anytime lg releases a new phone they send a launch package to the stores a few weeks beforehand. it includes a dummy phone, and some product literature. we got the 4650 and 3300 launch packages about two or three weeks ago. the 4650's out but the 3300 still isn't. we still haven't gotten a launch package for the 8100. we also need floor model dummy phones, call out cards, and accessories before this can launch. we have none of these for the 8100. most importantly we need the actual phones! trust me, they're not in the stores in some secret closet. they didn't even make it to the warehouse yet! also with the roll-out of this new music service i'm sure they'll launch the phone at the same time. the only concrete stuff...

It took a little searching but I managed to pull this off of verizon's webpage, if it has been posted earlier i apologize.

I was in a VZW store in Princeton, NJ and we were talking about the v710. We spoke about BT, the v710 and the vx8100. He actually admitted that was how VZW screwed up the v710, by messing with the BT software. He also admitted the reason VZW was delaying the 8100, was so that could unload some of the other phones. I said, that was obvious. Never thought I would ever hear a VZW rep admit something like that. Surprise! Surprise! Guess tha're human after all.

I slept out for the second night in front of the verizon store and was woke up to a guy kicking me and yelling (get outa here you 8100 bum). How dare he say that? I was just trying to buy another 8100 since I was robbed yesterday of my 8100 right after i got it. Whats wrong with this guy?

I just finished comparing the Motorola 815 with the LG 8100 .
According to the specs the LG does not have PC sync capability.
Does anyone know if this is true?
I would like to be able to import my calendar from either Yahoo or outlook.
If this is true I maybe back to looking at Motorola again . even though I don't like Motorola as well as LG
also is it just me I haven't heard any real news about the LG 8100 since the lawsuit about a Verizon ( Got you now ) crippling blue tooth

What is crippled about it and why? I thought it was only for to use as a wireless head set.

Its time to upgrade my phones, and I want to make sure they are all bluetooth.

I was waiting on the LG8100, but I recently learned of the Motorol 815?

Is there a big difference between the 2 ? All I am looking for is Bluetooth and a Clamshell .. I don't care about much else.

Don't know if this fact means anything, but Philadelphia area Best Buys are selling the 7000 for free with a new 2 year contract. Get rid of old inventory before the 8100 ???

Welp, not to be a downer here....but I just talked with a local verizon store and the guy was very arrogant. When I asked him about the 8100 he said, "uhhhhh, no ...we don't have that"..as if I were crazy and just pulling model numbers out of the sky!

When I queried him further he said, that phone isn't even in testing yet for verizon....

Either this guy's a real prick or he just started working there yesterday...or if none of those are the case, then there are a WHOLE lot of liars on this forum just trying to get everyone all excited over NOTHING.

Any thoughts???

I have to go to Verizon tomorrow to get my THIRD 8000 due to software issues. Long story short I downloaded a get-it-now game and my phone started resetting itself. I took it into Verizon and found out there is another software version (5) and mine was at 4. The tech tried loading the newest software and the phone rejected it.

Customer service told him to replace the phone but they were out of stock and I didn't have time to get to another store tonight.

I'd rather wait and make sure the 8100 is bullet-proof instead of having them rush a defective product to market.

I'm starting to get the impression that Verizon is holding this phone in order to push the newer (and lesser/cheaper phones) coming out or they don't want to hurt sales of phones already out. If I had a choice between a phone with everything on it (Bluetooth, Camera, Memory and high-speed access) and a plain Jane model released on the same day then I wouldn't even bother looking at the plain Jane unit.

I'm sure the E815 and the 8100 are going kill sales of the other phones in stock.

Could i use a MOTO bluetooth or do i have to buy a LG or some other brand.

Well accourding to all the experts the phone is released on the 27th so im going to be the frist on my block to get this wonderfull example of modern tech. THE 8100 oh yea. Will call all of you tomorrow and send each and everyone of you a pic of me and the best phone made..Cant freaking wait!!!

Just came form an EVDO training in upstate NY this morning and the word around the room is sometime this week! Of course this may not be true, but it seemed like this week or early next week should be a good bet. Just thought I'd share...

There were rumors that it'd be out today... I just called a store in Old Saybrook, CT and it did not come out there today.
