EVDO question & BMW bluetooth compatibility

Will I need to sign up for a smartphone/data plan in order to use the EVDO service or will I be able to use the EVDO with a regular voice plan?

Also, does anyone know if VX8100 will work with the BMW integrated bluetooth. My v710 works perfectly and I can only buy a new phone that is compatible.

EVDO for tethered solution?

so, do you all realize that you can use EVDO just like 1xrtt as far as your phone acting as your modem, and IT DOESN'T EVEN CHARGE AIRTIME! it's also VERY much against the T&Cs of your contract, and if you get caught Verizon has the right to terminate your service and charge you the ETF, but as far as I know(and someone correct me if I'm wrong here) they have no real way to monitor it. they might be able to detect high transfer rates, but even then it shouldn't be that unusual, downloading those vid clips has to take a lot of bandwidth to start with. any ideas/opinions? I do customer care for vzw, but I don't claim to know everything, so a lot fo you may know more about this than I do. especially since this is something I'm (obviously) no...

Sooner than later I think

I have no inside information or contacts "in the know." That being said go to Verizon's website and look at the price drop of the VCast phones. They are their best phones outside of the smart phones and look at the prices----- $100. If they are not about to launch the VX8100 and the E815 then why would they do this. Looks promising to me 🙂 😉 😁

e815 is just over the horizon

The adobe help file for the Moto e815 Bluetooth along with the driver version is on the Verizon Website already. Lets just hope that the VX8100 is released at the same time. Verizon doesn't go to all the trouble of developing software and updating its website for the fun of it. I can wait and will; I just don't think it will have to be that much longer. 😁 😁 😁

is there a VX9000 coming?

I realized eventually the VX9000 will be made.

I was about to contact verizon about my now malfunctioning VX7000 when i was told I could make the claim online. When I went to make the claim the site asks what model phone I had and when I put LG in and went to choose the exact model it had the VX8100 and VX9000 as models LG made. Now I was not gonna lie and say I had the VX8100 of course but I was surprised to see that they list a VX9000 as a model made by LG.

Best I can guess is that its a listing as an eventual model that will get made and the insurance company was just putting it on their sight way ahead of when they needed to.

Anyone else wanna give their opinion?

It's not OBEX, but...a usb Bluetooth adapter??

Well I don't know the logistics of this. But could you sync your phone with your computer by using one of those wirelesss usb bluetooth adapters connected to your phone and one for your computer. Even though bluetooth is all ready on the phone, it may be redundant, or not even work. anyone know?

Can you guys recomend a good usb cable for me to sync my contacts?

Something I can get off ebay? Basically i'm going to switch from Crapular to Verizon when this phone comes out. Since Verizon disables the bluetooth for "security" reasons, I'm thinking this is the best way for me to sync up my contacts.

thanks!

Legit release date confirmed?

Has the newest rumored release date (July 11) be confirmed by anyone with some credibility?

I'd like to believe it but the some people who have posted it have posted false posts and info so if someone who has seen the screen where this info is from could confirm it I would be so happy and start saving money.

A couple of people have posted it on the other forum as well so it seems legit to me.

Thanx for your time.

Mike C.

PS-Has the price been confirmed as well?

Listen up Troops

There seems to be allot of confused kids on this forum. I would like to help. I have done extensive research on both the lg8100 and the Motorola e815. The Motorola E815 will out perform the 8100 by a huge margin of success in many areas. Now you are probably asking what areas Natas. I want to make this real clear so read slowly.

Reception and looks alone

Now I could go into much more detail but I wanted to make it real simple so there was no confusion.

I hope you guys all will be enjoying the Motorola E815.

Glad I could help.

Carry on troops!

Info from Verizon - 8100 DELAYED!

Just heard through the grapevine (from verizon higher-ups) that the 8100 has been delayed. No info on a release date as of yet. I'm still hoping for the 5th although it doesn't look good.
