I happened to read the review from Mary and I had to write back with my say on this.

To Mary...I love the 8100 as much as you do but it's con's outweigh the pro's. The speakerphone is worthless on the 8100 and the call volume bug does indeed exist. Either some users have the ears of an Owl or a good portion of users are death or going death. Bluetooth on the 8100 is useless.

To say that the razor is poorly built is not an accurate statement. For the size of the phone, it's built like a rock. The call quality and clarity is huge over the 8100( most users will agree). I just got the Verizon RAZR V3c on Wednesday, and have had fantastic call quality, marginal battery life, and a strong appreciation of the form factor and build quality of this phone. The Verizon UI is tragic, and I got the phone knowing this would be the one reason I might not keep this device, but go with the Moto E815 instead (previous phones: StarTac, Moto i60c, Moto v551).

I have now been unable to answer two important calls because of what appears to be a major design flaw with the Verizon UI: if the phone is flipped-open, you can't answer an incoming call!! I have tried pressing the send button (and all the rest) ... nothing works.

What is a bitpim and where do i get the program , and what is a bluetooth dongle?

Has anyone come across a belt clip that does not block the USB / charging port on the V3c? The one that Verizon sells at its stores is a no go, but strange enough - the one pictured on VZW's website looks like it would work. Any recommendations for belt clips that allow for full functionality while the phone is in the clip? Thanks!

I was in a verizon store today and the rep told me not to buy the razr. He said that there have been numerous returns of the razr and that people have been experiencing many problems with it. One problem in particular was a buzzing sound in the ear piece after a call was placed. Does anyone know if this is true? Have any of you had problems with your razr? I really wanted to get one at first, but now I am not so sure......

I feel like it's very pricey to take this sort of risk.

unfortunately im another one of the unlucky ones with this phone. My first razr had the time lag problem but luckily verizon replaced it no problem. Now my keypad feels flimsy and rattles and my side buttons (volume, spkr and command) all rattle too!!! My phone sounds like its falling apart and its a week old! I dont know if i should keep returning this phone until i get one without any problems or if i should just get a new phone (but which one?!) i just dont feel like this razr is going to last two years of college and i dont have the money to replace it early!! This afternoon I went to my verizon store to bring back my 2nd razr. 1st razr had a horribly loose key pad, 2nd one had distortion on volume 5-7 and a slightly loose keypad, and both had terribly misaligned battery clips. the tech there replaced it without even testing it and brought out "replacement" razr's. I said no I want a new one. he said thats fine just bring me the box with everything in it. Went to my car and got it, and i got my new razr. i asked to check it nd low and behold: MUCH BETTER. keypad is solid all around, battery clip is almost perfect, and only slight distortion static sound on volume 7. i am so delighted and spoke with him and he said despite what other techs say, they have been getting a ton of returns and are in dir...

I have a quick question for everyone, other than a few minor bugs that come with a brand new phone coming to market, has anyone been mislead about what this phone will and won't do?

I bought the phone knowing it had the Verizon UI. I would have been shocked if Bluetooth wasn't crippled at all. As it stands right now, I am pleasantly surprised at how much the Bluetooth will actually do. It talks to my Mac without any problems. I don't need to sync my contacts because I use Back-up Assistant for that. Knowing how small the phone, and as a result the battery is, I knew that it wouldn't last as long as bigger phones. You have to pay for ringtones and wallpaper, but that's nothing new, and I am also thinking that 90% of Verizon customers ...

Look im not hatin on anybody or the phone. i have the phone and completely love it. But everybody looks for this one object thats going to fullfill all their needs but it just cant happen. Unless it comes to something stupid like a lag or loose pieces thats just careless crap. BUt otherwise, if u really dont like it, dont get it or try and work around like in this case going to alltell. Or you could just not buy the phone and wait for some new phones to come out in 06. Does anyone know if you can set different text ringtones for people on this phone? (like the lg's)

does the keypad glow with the flourescent bluish color like GSM verson, or does it light up with the standard blue like on other verizon handsets?

I have service through US Cellular. Has anyone else noticed a slow connection time when receiving calls? The person calling me hears the phone ring 4-6 times before my phone starts to ring. This never happened with my LG.

First off the Driver messed up my computer...sence I installed the driver for the MPT.... when I turn my computer on after it gets to the windows xp screen I get the blue screen with all the writing on it then it restarts my computer......2nd the driver has f8cked up my RazR....I tried to send a pix message on my phone and got a Nation access coverage not available I called up Verizon customer service and they told me that your phone has a defect or you attached it to your pc and somehow a worm has gotten into the phone......

what new phones are coming out for verizon in 06?

i have nothing against motorola or razr
but when i saw how dull and dim the external and internal screens were on this phone, after having an lg8000 that is so bright and clear. I just thought the razr was cheap-o and a lot of hype about nothing.

by the way whomever said that the samsung blade can be activated on verizon is incorrect i spoke to about 4 cell phone geek programmers and its not do-able.

So back to the main question, anyone know what new phones are coming out in 06 for verizon.

uummm is this norman? do any of you experience the same problem? i was playing with two of them, one at the mall, and one from best buy, and when i went into the photogallery, it took like 10 seconds to jump from pic to pic..... that is dumb slow! (excuse my slang im from Bay Area, CA). can anyone clarify???? 😳

how do you silence the ringer with the phone closed when you get a call. i pushed all the side buttons and nothing.

Since I feel so violated by VZW push their CRAP red and black UI on us I am curious if the Alltel version will work out of the box with no issues whatsoever.
