Motorola Q

I've read conflictly information that the Q can not do any of the edit functions...does anyone know the truth?

Hi ... I have hd my Q since about the time they were int he VZN stores, I believe the first week of June.

There hasn't been any real issues till two days ago. My battery needs charging after about 10 hours of use/idle time. Usually I can go one and up to two days without having to charge the battery. This is at best 50% of juice I had been receiving.

My calling and Internet habits haven't changed whatsoever. Is this the phone, something I might have done or a bad battery?

And what if anything can I do about it?

Has anyone used both of these for corporate email. I have been using the BB and find it very easy to use. I want to know if the Q compares or am I better off with the BB?

I've searched the forum and can't find anybody with this problem so I figured I'd post this in hope of an answer....I purchased my Q last Thursday and everything is working fine except for the ActiveSync. Let me briefly try to describe my problem. I've been using Gmail for awhile now and when I got home on Thursday with my Q, i went to www.4smartphone.net and purchased the basic microsoft exchange plan in order to push my Gmail messages to my Q. Everything works the way it should until I don't receive an email for awhile. If a couple of hours go by without receiving an email, the phone seems to go into a "sleep mode". When this happens, I have to select ActiveSync in my menu and manually sync it (this defeating the whole purpose) and my emai...

I heard that there is a patch (if you may) to where you do not need to use Intellisync or Everyone.net to recieve live email. Does anyone have a good link to give, so I can download it?

I'm getting numerous copies of emails even after they have seen/reviewed/delted.

What is configured wrong?

I do not currently have the Q yet but I plan on getting one soon. However, I've heard that it does not come with a notepad/memopad software...if this is true, can someone recommend specfic software? Also, there is no way around the lack of copy and paste feature that is missing on it? Thanks!!!!

Given some of the glitches in the phone or Windows Mobile cited by some users, is there any likelihood of a firmware upgrade or any kind of service pack for the operating system in the works?

Any clever phone hacks out there that allow you delete the lousy microsoft OS and reinstall a linux distro?

I love the BT tethering (although I would use USB, I dont feel like risking my Mac for it).

Anyone else just happy with this phone?

I currently use BT tethering (just because I dont want to muck around with my iBooks kernal files). My only complaint I guess is that, after some inactivity (like typing this post after the page is loaded), the connection drops. It doesn't drop if I am surfing or constantly sending or receiveing.

Has anyone successfully made a USB dun connection without really risking thier Mac at all? If you risked the files, is it really worth it? Does it stay connected even after no activity?

I know that the Q has MSN but will I be able to use Messenger if I'm not on the Internet? I have the T-Mobile SDA and that doesn't allow you to use Messenger unless you're online. I'm looking forward to when the Q comes on GSM networks. If anyone has the answer, I'd be highly appreciate it. Thanks.

Sometimes when I am using my directional pad (mainly the up or down button) on my Q it will randomly select a contact from my contact list.

I am just scrolling up or down on my home screen and it will pop up the contacts list to a particular name.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I am going to try doing a master reset to see if it fixes the problem once I figure out how to save my contacts to miniSD. I just wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem.

ive had the Q as soon as it came out. also i havent had one issue with the phone at all. one question i do have is there an aim client for the Q?? if so does anyone have any links for me? ive also searched nothing really came up. any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't need it because I'm using ActiveSync and would like to free up the screen space and keep it from starting up when I plug in the USB cable.

I am a field sales rep with 2 assistants that set appointments for me. All 3 of us can theoretically be making my appointments at the same time. They need to see the appointments I make and of course I need to see the ones they make for me so I don't have any conflicts. I don't have time to call each asst (who will be using pc's on the internet) to constantly update my calendar on the fly. Will the Q give me the functionality to do this? Any advice will be appreciated.

Okay, I've been dealing with Verizon for some time and have become friends with one of their regional VP's.

According to him I should not hold my breath waiting for the Q. Apparently it is little more than a "concept" phone put out there to keep investors interested in motorola as they attempt to actually find a legitimate successor to the Razor.

He reports that Verizon agreed to help Motorola with this deception for lucrative discounts on future Moto Phones. The Q apparently is beyond Moto's current ability to maunfacture efficiently and at best will be available early next year.

Does anyone know of an app for the Q that can be used to automatically lock the keyboard (after a defined timeout).

Or, if the Q has the ability to do an auto keylock already and I just haven't found it please let me know.

Can anyone share information as to how to close the browser after use without having to shut down the phone? There must be a simple procedure that I'm missing.Thanks very much!

So im trying the Q, but one questions after i dont use it for 30 minutes or so it goes black and i cant get it to come back on unless i take out the battery. Ive read the manual and cant find anything about how to turn it back on when it goes to sleep.
Can someone help me with this
