How do I get the auto key lock loaded and working properly?

I have had my Q for almost 2 months and I love it but I have one problem:

I still have every single text message I have ever sent or received on it. Is there any way to have it automatically remove messages after a certain set period of time? Or do I just have to delete them 1 by 1 over and over again? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My phone also cuts off (read other reviews) for no apparent reason during the day. (I thought I would bring this question over to the forum section). Sometimes its right after I hang up and sometimes it just happens. I thought I had a defective battery. I have to take the battery out, put it back in, and power on again for it to work! Not good for a new phone! Has this happened to many others? If so, what have you done about it? Call Verizon? On another note, anyone know how do you turn off the sound to that loud annoying power on introduction?? Not to mention the long powering on wait. I'm used to powering on and pretty much dialing. One last question, after being on Internet explorer, how do you exit?? I keep seeing the double arrows after...

My Q seems to always be transferring data or connected to something, yet I have no tasks running. Is this from the Wireless Sync Application? The reason I think it's always communicating is because I have the double arrows over the signal strength indicator. Any thoughts??

I am a new Q user. I had set up active sync and then set up some email accounts on my phone with thr messaging tools. I then have been reading about wireless sync on these forums.

I set it up and it went very smoothly. So much easier then my blackberry! Then the next day it stopped pushing the email I have my gmail set up and my PC monitor software set-up for my work computer. When I logged in to the vzw email account it had acquired email from both my gmail and work servers but did not push them to my phone. Then I looked at the log , which had errors--they were that it tried to connect to the pop.google.com server and failed. Sorry for the long description/question but I wanted to get out as many details as I could.

Does anyone know how to save all your contacts to your miniSD card?

I want to do a Master reset of my phone, but do not want to have to reenter all my contacts.

Anyone have any thoughts or hear anything through the grapevine of when the touch screen version of the q will be coming out? Im up for upgrade in a week, but should i wait or not

I have an HS850 Motorola Headset, and I'm having some problems with it. It won't stay connected half the time, and when it is connected and I try answer with it, it makes a really weird sound in my ear and the next thing I know the person calling has been transferred to the phone's earpiece. 😳

Anyone having similar problems? Got any advice?

It's the same headset I had with my RAZR, and I never had any problems with it.

I got Q to function as modem. Is there a way to establish a dial-up connection with my isp so i can check email thereby avoiding the need for the dataplan? 😁

Is there any way to "search" on the Q for specific text within calendar entries or contacts?

For instance, on my old Palm PDA, I could do a search for "Chicago" and find every calendar entry related to trips to Chicago, as well as every contact with "Chicago" listed as the city.

I've not found a way to do any type of "search" on the Q. Is there any 3rd party app that will do it? How about the add-on Calendar apps?

Will this work with the Q? Also, I am having a big dilemma on this. Treo 700p vs. Q. I will use the phone for calendar, contact, and cell usage. Probably minor internet/web base stuff, but that is it. I have read many reviews and it seems there are a lot of mixed reviews.

Can I get a little help with these questions, PLEASE!!!!

I cannot dial my home voice mail that requires a home telephone number and a password using either the "p" or the "w" and the Send button *green button). This seems to work on the Verizon mobile voice mail. Does anyone know what I am doing wroing?

So very recently, my Q has been acting weird when I try to transfer music (or anything) to the mini SD card, whether over ActiveSync or via putting things in folders on the phone and using the phone to transfer them to the card.

When I attempt to put things on the miniSD card, i can't use the files (corrupt errors, etc) and then when I restart the phone, the files no longer show up on the card. It seems like the phone's not even writing to the card. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this a problem with the card, or with the phone?

I've tried hard resets, deleting everything from the card and starting from scratch... nothing works! Please help.

I understand the Pause option (and I know it's been covered) when setting up Voicemail and passwords. But for my office VM I believe I need to use the Wait option (what I used on the Treo 650), does anybody know exactly how this works on the Q. What button do you hit after the Wait?

How does everyone like the security functions on the motorola Q? Does this phone have screensavers that you can lock like a PC? With my current motorola, once I have noted a passcode.. I have to input it to view who sent me emails or recently called. I love those options. Just wondering if motorala continued its efforts??

If you perform the master reset function what exactly happens? I was also wondering if I deleted all the contacts and old text messages in my phone are they in a folder anywhere?
