Help About Choosing A Data Plan

I was thinking about getting the Q when it hits stores June 5th. the only thing holding me back is the costly unlimited data plan for $44. After talking to a rep, they gave me a 20 mb for 24.99 option. Does anyone know if this would be enough for lets say just browsing the web? i am not too concerned about downloading or checking email much. Thank You

Wireless Synch through Verizon

I have not been able to synch my Outlook successfully through Verizon Wireless Synch. The program would not install thru the path "Use Outlook to Retrieve My Email" as it could not locate a file *.msi. I can retrieve my e-mail but not achieve 2 way synch with Outlook. I am waiting for technical support to call me back. Has anyone successfully set this up?

external antenna?

For anyone who already owns a Q, does it have the connection for an external antenna on the back? It looks like it does in the picture but I just wanted to double check. I use an external antenna which I keep by my window since I live in a weak signal area.

Thanks for any info.

Alluminum Case for the Q!

Just ordered my aluminum case for the Q from wirelessground as they are accepting pre orders - looks like the case will protect the screen and seems very high quality since it is a Monaco case. Yay! Finally a good case.

Calendar Daily Display

Is anyone else disappointed that the daily calendar view only displays scheduled events rather than the complete workday? I was surprised that Moto did not allow viewing more than just the scheduled appointments. Is there some 3rd party software to take care of this, or is this something that might be added in future firmware revisions?

Question on downloading games application directly on Q and thru storage card

I downloaded the handy weather & Webster's New World Mobile Dictionary application on my laptop. saved it to the Q's storage device thru the adaptor card from my laptop. Now I try to install the application on Q from the storage device, it's prompts with error - Not a valid windows CE application.(downloaded the application from www.handango.com)

But the same application when I download through the Q's handset's download options, the application is properly installed and I am able to run the application.

I need to know, If I am left without doing anything particular, that prevents me from installing the application thru my storage device?

Is Samsung i320 an option in USA?

Does anyone know if you can Import the Samsung i320 to the USA and use it with an existing network like Cingular, T-mobile, etc..?

Even though its GSM, someone said because it has a Tri-band it won't be capable of working in the USA. Furthur, I spoke with a rep from Samsung who said Imported smart phones have difficulty using email.

Any info is greatley appreciated because the Motorola Q is my only other purchase consideration.

Not sure if this will work...help...software Question

Alright Q Users, I have a good one here for you. I personally do not use a q, honestly have never sold one, or activated one. I have a customer who is interested in purchasing one based on the answer to this question that he posed to me. He is a locksmith and uses a program by the name of Genericode, the software is basically an excel spreadsheet in which he enters in a lock code and the corresponding code pops up. Now I know that the Q has "read only" versions of Microsoft word and excel, however if it is an integrated part of the software in which he will be putting on the phone...will he be able to enter and edit text into the spreadsheet/database? That is the big question. Any leads...help...or info would be greatly appreciated. T...

Need some help clearing up some confusion

Okay I am thinking of upgrading from my LG VX8100 cause im always at work now and never have time to spend at my home computer anymore.

So first off, can i get my gmail email on this phone?

Second, can you use aim on here easily. I am good with technology but dont want to do to many mods to this phone if possible.

Finally are these things easier on the Treo 650? I am deciding between these two and cant figure which one to get.

Thanks

Motorola Q and GPS

Does anyone know if the Motorola Q will be capable of acting as a GPS device? Specifically I am interested in knowing if the Q will hook up to the GPS Locator in Streets and Trips 2006 via its mini-USB port. If not the USB port, perhaps via Bluetooth?
Or is the thinking that Verizon will disable any sort of GPS capabilities of this phone?

Phone gets Exchange email - NOT OUTLOOK

Ok, so I just got my Q last week. Very happy with it so far except for the email portion of it. I'm sure I probably just have this thing setup wrong or something . . . So we've got a computer in the office that all it does is stay on and be our "Verizon Email Program Computer". It just stays on with that silly email program that you have to use in order to connect to Exchange.

I do NOT have the software installed on my PC at work - the one with Outlook on it that checks email.

When people send me emails, I get them real time on my phone. Cool! The problem is, my phone intercepts the email and I am NEVER able to retreive it on my Outlook. NOT cool.

Has anybody seen/heard of this problem? What steps might someone recommend I take...

Optimum online POP3

OK, setting up the optimum POP3 account was easy.
Getting it to work consistently is another thing.

Today I can receive e-mail, but it will not send it from the outbox. I get an error message. I reloaded it twice, and called tech support with both Optonline and Motorola. Still no luck. Anyone have any advice? PS: my gmail, hotmail, and mac.mail work.

Settings are mail.optonline.net for both. No check marks in security SSL.

Thanks David
