every single week I check for updates...but none answer what I REALLY WHAT TO KNOW!!!!

I've hunted here and on google and I cannot find a way to disable the shutter sound. Has anyone done this on the Q yet?

how do you shut off the music when booting up the phone

I tested the software for a few days and it worked really well. In fact, I'm using it right now to post this thread 🙂

But every time I disconnect, I have trouble reconnecting to the Internet. The only way is to reboot my Q. I noticed a couple of problems.
1. On the Q, the software PDANETWM.exe keeps running and even windows cannot kill it.
2. Even if PDANet is running on my Q, the PC tells me that that it is not. If that does not happen, then it says 'modem busy'

Anyone else having the same prob? Any possible solutions?

I've heard that when the Q searches for other Verizon Wireless PDA devices through bluetooth it can actually unlock all the bluetooth functions on the found device (if it's a PDA). Has anyone tried this, and if so, is it a permanent disable? And is it possible to unlock non-PDA devices?

Is there anyway to save or lock text messages, or even emails on this phone? If I have 30 msgs in my inbox and want to delete all but one of them, do I actually have to go through and delete all 29 individually, or is there some way to lock the one I want to keep, and use the Clear All function?

Who can instruct me on installing Pocket NES to my Q so I can play Mario Bros!?

For some reason I am totally unable to login to the XMstream.xm.com/mobile mobile website. It says wrong username/password. I called a rep and he said it was "illegal". Has anyone else run in to this?

I just spent the better part of an hour trying to figure this out. Anyone have instructions on how to do this? The manual is worthless.

Here's what I've done:

On the Q, in Bluetooth Manager, Bluetooth is ON and "Allow other Bluetooth devices to connect" is checked.

On the PC, I have used the Bluetooth Connections control panel to connect to the device, it has two COM ports associated with it (one for incoming, one for outgoing) and the device and the PC are connected with a passkey.

So, supposedly they see each other.

Anyway, no matter what I do, whenever I go into ActiveSync on the phone and choose "Connect via Bluetooth", I try to add a device. The phone finds my computer, I click "Select"... it comes back saying "Servic...

Is it possible to have messages sent from a POP3 account on the phone appear in the SENT ITEMS Outlook folder?

I'm using CloneDVD to rip a DVD and move the video file to the SD card in my Q.
Which video file format should I be creating when I rip the dvd? I can't seem to get an .avi file to play with the windows media player on the Q (?)

I was wondering if anyone had heard if the instant Exchange sync update for the Q was out, or am I stuck to having it check every few minutes.

Also does anyone know if you can get POP accounts to sync instantly? All I can lower it to is every 15 min.

Lastly, I hear you can have exchange send an SMS to make it instant and that their is some code so that you can get if free with data plans if you are talking to the right person at VZ. Anyone know about that.

🤭 I dropped my Q on my concrete driveway and the screen shattered real badly.
Does any one know if the insurance will replace the phone or not since the phone still works? Or would I be better off just going to the Verizon store and order a new screen?
Is Verizon carrying parts for this phone now? Any input will be appreciated.

I can get them off but the icons remain on hom escreen. How do I get them off?

I tried to setup AS to send alerts/emails from my exchange server to my Q as they arrive. But in order to do that, AS asks me to enter a device SMS address. I thought it was my phone number but its not. Anyone know what this should be?

Does anyone know if when you sync the Q it automatically saves the pic and vid files to a folder on your PC? Currently i am just dragging and dropping into a folder to ensure i save them outside of the phone, but does this happen, or CAN it happen automatically?

Love the homescreens Juni has done for the Q! ( Clarity and Clear ) but would love to tweak the message bar to replace the MMS counter with my Pop3 inbox. Ive stumbled through enough of the xml to figure out where to change the text from MMS to what I need it to display....but Im not sure what the xml context for the POP3 message counter is.

Also!

Clarity and Clear appear to be the only two homescreens written for the QVGA Landscape. Once I get the hang of the HML Ill try and get graphical...but Im positive Im no match for some of the "artists" amongst us.

Ive always been bleeding edge ( thats why I nailed the Q as soon as it came out ) but Im somewhat new to how the messenger service works.

Is it normal to constantly need to re-sign back into this service? There are days where Ive had to re-sign in 3 or 4 times in order to receive messages. Maybe its just my perception but Im assuming I should stay "connected" unless I tell it to sign me out.
