Motorola Q

Just download Agile Messenger and Auto Keylock which are two good programs. The question I have is can I move these programs from the start menu into the Programs folder which is too located under the start menu. Its annoying everytime I want to use these programs to have to go down the list of start menu icons to find them. It would be much easier if they were in the programs folder.

Is there anyway this is possible??

I am in need of a good app to store notes on my Q. Mostly, I want to store my internet passwords, frequent flier numbers, etc. - so I need an app that has good security (I don't keep the phone locked - so I'll definitely want an encrypted file that nobody can access if I should lose my phone)

I have noticed that the signal strength with my Q is not very good where I work. My job is located in the Financial district in NYC and everyone here is constantly on their phones for whatever reason and I don't hear them complaining about this. Is the Q's antenna just weak? Is anyone else having this problem?

I was able to do add mp3s as ringtones with no problem.. however it's a REAL pain to listen to the full mp3 every time you get a call(which you ignore) or text message. I tried just about everything(holding in scroll wheel, back button, red/power button/speaker). The only solution i have right now is holding in the red button for 5+ seconds or removing the battery.(neither are really ideal) 🤣

Does Anyone know how to turn off MP3 Ringers once you get the notice?

So now that I have the kick ass phone...The Q has been rated as the number 1 gadget to have..yeehaawww!!!
But I cant have the best phone with a piece of crap headset. It'll be like buying a Ferrari and putting a car bra on it...just no class.
But I'd also like for the headset to charge via usb so I dont carry a second charger with me. The only one that I know of if the Motorola RAZR headset that has a usb port to charge. But it's too freakin big...you guys know of a smaller cooler headset that charges via usb?

I've been looking for a PDA that will help me do this for a while and I think the Q could probably pull it off. I need to hook up a monitor to my PDA (maybe USB or Bluetooth) and display presentations on the screen so I don't have to bring my laptop with me every time.

Anyone have any ideas?

Is there a broswer or viewer that plays .swf Flash files from websites?

When I have my profile set for headset I don't want the phone to ring out loud but only in my headset. I can't find a setting to do that. any suggestions?

So - I think I know how to work this phone pretty well, and I've been able to find a workaround for most things that don't work as you'd expect - but this one is kinda bugging me.


I have a lot of items in my calendar which I've scheduled as "all day events". Basically - people's birthdays, things I need to remember to do in a day - but not at a certain time, etc. Basically - anything I put in my calendar that doesn't actually have a certain "time" - I put in as an "all day event"

I've noticed two bad things about the all day events.

1. They don't seem to appear on my home screen under the schedule section (whereas appointments with specific times do appear)

2. My only options for "reminders" for these events are in minute...

So I have tried everything I can think of and I'm not figuring this out. I'm stating to think that there is no way to save email attachments.

Does anyone know how to save an attachment to an email? Any help or input anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone recommend a good video transfer software that will transfer DVDs to a PDA?

Whats the average time peoples batteries are lasting on this bad boy? Lets say you charge it for the night, unplug fully charged at 8:30am. You have moderate use throughout the day..nothing crazy but certainly using it (e-mail, txt, phone...maybe some bubble breaker). How long before youre down to the dreaded 1 bar???

I have heard that you can put super mario and other games on the Q? How can I do that with my phone??

I'm honestly on the fence and need your thoughts. I hve two days left to decide.

I currently have the Q. It is a nice phone with ok PDA features.

If I keep the Q in addition to using the phone I would use the Internet access, email access and possibly the calendar and possibly the music feature. The other features are of little interest to me.

However, from my experience so far the Internet access is hit and miss dependin on the site. My email access has been about the same.

The voice recognition on my Q is really poor so driving and making calls doesn't work very well.

Does anyone have any information if a new extended battery will be coming anytime soon that is smaller and weighs less then the current one.

I got the Q to synch well enough with my Hotmail email, but is there a way to get it to synch with the Hotmail Calendar, Contacts, and/or tasks? Seems like this would be an oversight if it wasn't included since these are two products from Microsoft.

I have installed Facade which is a great pragram along with Papyrus. I have changed my home screen configuration. Now my start menu does not bring anything up.

When I touch the soft key for start menu the following happens:

- The word start appears across the top title as it used to.
- More appears above the left soft key as normal
- Menu appears above the right soft key as normal.

The start menu icons do not appear in the center screen like they used to. If you click more the key flashes but does nothing. If you click menu you get the add speed dial choice as normal.

In the middle of the screen is the after image of the home screen for lack of a better word.

This was dangerous because I did not have the facade configure in ...

I recieved the 2gb mini-sd last week. I put several shows on it to watch and all of them are choppy. The sound and pictures do not match up. Has anyone else had this problem? Can I do something to fix this?

Does anybody know when this is happening? I would like to get push email.
