Motorola Q

does anyone know the maximum capacity for the expandible memory that the Q allows, i think it might be 1GB but im hoping its more. if you know it would be greatly appriciated.

I have Outlook Express and I can't seem to sync my email or anything for that matter ☹️

Am I only able to sync with Outlook???

I still have yet to find a way to turn on both a ringer and the vibrate when I recieve a call/voice mail. Is this possible on the Q?

I am often in my vehicle with the phone in my pocket so I can not always hear the ringer. Thanks for any help.

I used to have a LG8100, I could make the bluetooth volumn so loud on my bluetooth I could hear through it at rock concert(example only).

I can hardly hear the Q on my bluetooth, and where I can change the volumn? I have tried the scroll wheel and it is at the max. Is there a setting I haven't found.

Playback of my videos have been choppy in this program. Would like to get it to work, cuz it plays the video in full screen. Said I should make some changes to the buffer.

Killed all apps, thinking maybe too much was going on. I DID install the program to my storage card, could that be the problem? Is access to the program from the mini SD card that much slower that it would affect playback?

Did anybody else make any changes to the buffer?

can i tether my Q to my mac laptop either via bluetooth or usb cable and get online?

I set up a POP3 email account over the weekend.

I cannot connect to my mail server. The status bar says connection then it prompts me for my password. I enter the password and it tries to connect then prompts me again fro my password.

In fact, regardless of what site I am on the Q won't save my password when I click on save password.

So now I am unable to get email.

I also have a personal domain web based email account through godaddy.com

I tried to access it through the Internet and every time it tells me authentication failed. One again it won't save my password or even connect to my web based mail.

Any suggestions are most welcomed.

Anyone know what this sound is. Ever 20 minutes it sounds off, even thru my bluetooth, its soooooooooo annoy ing.. Also is there a wa to make the phone go bak to the home sreen automatialy .. I hate having to press the bak key all the time

Is it possible to play video and view pics in full screen...I have videos and even hit the full screen option but still they are small squares...same goes for pics...???

Love the phone....but how do I free up space in the "Memory Manger?" ---- also broken down to "Device Storage."

I just got my Q over the weekend and I'm loving it but I don't know how to use the bluetooth feature. I don't know if this has already been covered, but how can I load files like mp3's from my laptop, which has bluetooth, onto my phone? I've been playing around with it but can't quite figure it out.

Any help will be appreciated.

I'm using ActiveSync instead and could use the space on my home screen.

When I go to "Remove Programs" the only thing running is "Sync Client". Does this work with Wireless Sync or ActiveSync? Would that solve my issue if I removed it?

After being very frustrated with the device over the last 10 days because of GMAIL issues, I have finally solved the problem. Gmail, for some reason, will not remain set on "download all mail since x date", but rather will automatically shift itself to "download all mail since y current time" by itself after multiple downloads by the Q. Again, this is a GMAIL issue, not a Q issue!

Maybe this is a GMAIL glitch that will be corrected someday, but for now if you access directly thru pop@gmail, you will lose all mail on your Q once the Q downloads and finds no new mail since last download, perhaps even 15 minutes earlier.

To solve this, you need to set up a relay email, preferably thru your ISP, such as optimum online or roadrunner, and ...

i sure someone already ask this question and it was answered but i couldn't find it in the search. but can you edit (instead of only create) task which was created on the phone? i understand that it's certain that you cannont edit task which were sync from outlook.

Does anyone out there use the Q to access AOL e-mail? I'd love to know how it works, whether there are any problems, whether you can store your screen name and password, and any other thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I've had a rough time finding third party software for the Q (Windows Mobile 5.0) handango doesn't even have the Q on its phone list yet and most of the sites that come up on a Google search are for Smartphone/PPC 2003. Anyone found a good resource for getting aftermarked software? I'm especially looking for dictionaries and music metronomes. THANKS

Ok, I've had my Q 3 days now. Getting used to it and like it quite well. I am having an ongoing argument with Q's speakerphone feature. It seems 3/4 of the time I pull it from the holster to answer, the speakerphone comes on (is on). When trying to turn it off, the call drops. Also, when using voice commands, it usually "defaults" to speakerphone.

Any suggestions as to not how to "turn on" the speakerphone when ansewering, or a quick way to turn it off? That's the one issue that is driving me nuts with this phone (besides the tiny characters on the keypad)

Does anyone know if this phone can be used oversees?

In previous Windows Mobile for Smartphones version, MS took the decision not to let users to add specific time reminder when creating tasks in Outlook Tasks.

So, all tasks reminders are set to 8:00AM by default even the tasks that were synced from Outlook.

Would anyone, please, tell me if MS fixed this issue in Windows Mobile for Smartphones version 5?

I like this phone, but I am heavily dependent on the use of Outlook Tasks.

just some advice, take it or leave it. Don't waste your money on the travel charger VZW is trying to push for the Q. It is the old V3C charger and it only has an output of 550mA. If you are going to buy another charger make sure it is the one that is supposed to be used with the Q and is rated at 850mA.

I had mine plugged in to the "travel" charger for 7 hours last night and it still didn't make it from three bars to a full charge even though I wasn't using the phone and had killed all running programs before I went to bed.

Even Motorola basically says they aren't worth a crap when the website states "charge time is two to five hours with the phone turned off".

Just my opinion that a charger that only holds the phone...
