MP3 Question

I just converted 200 AAC songs in iTunes to MP3 (160 kbps), none of which was copyright protected. While I have made certain MP3s are fully enabled on my 8300 (and have played some already), not one of them will play. The phone sees them all and begins automatically to scroll through them, rejecting each one with a lovely alert.

Each one has a number followed by the name.
For example, 01 Bad Moon Rising.

Suggestions?

Anyone Run Into This??

Love the phone after 4 weeks but about a week ago *86 quit working then started working then quit working again. Its kind of a drag because I have to dial my own number now to access my voicemail and I cant use the "listen now" function when I get a voicemail notification. Verizon seems stumped after two calls and a new phone. Anyone?

Hinge Loose in Closed Position?

I just got the 8300 and so far I am really pleased with it. It's quite an upgrade from my V710. One question though - when the phone is closed the phone kind of wiggles around and I feel it click just a tiny bit. It is not tight. When the phone is in the open position, it doesn't move around at all. Is it normal for this phone? Does your do this too? Let me know - thanks!

Video ID when someone calls!?

Is this phone capable of playing a video when somebody calls? I know you can set a picture ID for individual contacts but how about a video? I know other phones do it. I am not sure about this one. Please advise!

Bluetooth Version

Does anybody out there know the difference between the versions of 1.1, 1.2 & 2.0? I heard that 1.2 gives you a faster connection, but that's all. LG couldn't answer this either. PS: I read somewhere the 'Chocolate' is 1.1.

Got to play with Chocolate and I much rather have Vanilla !

Guys,

I hate to be this blunt because you know that I have come to respect LG and I used to be a Samsung guy.. I do think the 8300 and 5300 are wondeful devices.. But this thing ?

What are they thinking ?

It's definitely a young person's phone to take out and show around and maybe play some music but as a phone it's aweful.

When using a phone you need to be able to grab it, dial a number and make a call and when you are done end the call.

This phone which yes looks cool , is tough to use. The touch sensitive buttons are ridiculous and hard to use, Sometimes you press them and some times they work..

The Slider feels okay but the keypad is hard to deal with and has very small buttons.

The end button is horrid. I mean horri...

Earpiece Volume

I switched to the 8300 from my old 7000. On the 7000, if the earpiece volume was set to high, it was almost too loud. But on the 8300, I can barely hear anyone, I have to tell them to speak up. I know it has nothing to do with voice privacy, so dont suggest that. Any other suggestions???

Problem with wrong contact shown for Caller ID

Greetings,
I have several contacts set up that have a common work number, then a pause, then their extension numbers.
I also have a single contact under the business name that has the main number with no pause, no extensions.
In other words, my contacts list includes
WORK 234-567-8901
CYRUS 234-567-8901 W 1111
JIMBO 234-567-8901 W 2222

Whenever I get a call from work, though, instead of showing the Contact as "Work," the phone insists on showing it as Cyrus. If I delete Cyrus, it will show it as Jimbo. Even though the sent caller idea should be associated with "Work."

I've deleted the individual's work numbers. When I put them back the problem returns. I've completely deleted the entire contacts and re-installed it, starting w...

Awesome phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, this phone is awesome...what a great upgrade from the moto e815, dont get me wrong that was a GOOD phone, but this one is GREAT...

I popped a 1 gig microsd card in, transferred over a hundred songs...and the quality of the music is great...i up'd to the razr v3m first, but the damn drivers didnt work and according to verizon/moto they are having issues with it...so i was like efff it and returned it and couldnt be happier...

anyone have any cool secrets that this phone can do? anyone know how to keep the exterior screen on while the music player is going...or even just not backlit so i can see the clock when its not in use? 🙂

H350 motorola headset

Was wondering if anyone has tried the new headset from motorola with the 8300? I had such good luck with the hs820 which I still use. Was wondering if this h350 is a step up? Very similar to the hs820. I guess it has noise reduction and audio adjustments on it, like bass and treble. Bestbuy and Radioshack have it but its not even on motorola's website.. Any advice would be nice...

chocolate specs

here's a rundown of the more interesting specs on the official verizon launch package.

>music player (supports mp3 and wma formats) keep in mind here that none of the release info mentioned mp3 support on the 8300 so i'm wondering if this means a combined player instead of 2 separate ones.

>powerful speaker for music
notice that's not plural so it's mono

>set alarm using music
kinda cool

>bluetooth capable (v1.1)-supports headset, hands-free, advanced audio distribution, serial port, dial-up networking, object push profiles for vcard
advanced audio distribution i believe refers to the ability to change tracks from a stereobluetooth headset

>built in music player with customizable themes

and the biggie
>bluetooth stereo...

Ringtones

I downloaded the program audacity so that I could shorten songs from my computer to use as ringtones on my phone. I emailed these ringtones to my phone, and they all came through. However, some of the ringtones had good sound quality while others sounded pretty bad. They all sounded good on my computer before I sent them to my phone, so I don't understand why they don't all sound good on my phone. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Considering this phone...

Right now I have an unlocked and unbranded V3C, so I have full OBEX and I can make up my own ringtones, and so forth. Couple questions about this phone, how is the battery life? Is there a way to turn off EVDO? And will my Moto Phone Tools work with this phone, or does it have to be bought from Verizon? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.... 😉

LG battery

how long should you charge the phone when you first get it? Some people tell me to charge it until it says complete but others say 10-15 hours. Comments please?

Where's the VX8500 page???

I am surprised, with the VX8500 available online in about a week, phonescoop doesn't have a page dedicated to it yet.
