Luck w/ Plantronics BT Voyager 510 Headset

Hi All -- just a quick update. I am on my sixth bluetooth headset (!), the Plantronics Voyager 510, and am having good luck with it. Reception is clear, range is better, and folks on the other line report good sound thus far. This thing also has a noice cancelling mic, which is a plus. Despite its bulkier appearance, the 510 is surprisingly the most comfortable headset I've used. I'm going to try it for a couple more days and if I'm not satisfied, I'll think long and hard about returning an otherwise excellent LG VX 8300.

What to do...

I am on my fifth bluetooth headset, the LG HBM-300, and it's working relatively well. However, the person on the other end gets a periodic echo when I have the headset volume on high. Other than that, the headset works pretty well. I am also trying a Plantronics 640, which also works well. The only problem is the mic picks up and amplifies a lot of the background noise, which gets annoying for the folks on the other end.

I love the LG VX8300 but am getting fed up with the bluetooth. I should NOT have to buy and try out countless headsets in order to get a fit. This is my first phone with bluetooth and I didn't think it'd be such a hassle. Should I return the phone and go with the RAZR? Or should I keep the 8300 and deal with its b...

modify the old LG charger to work for my 8300

I had a couple older LG chargers for my LG 8100 and wanted to see if I could modify the charger to work for my 8300. It worked. on the bottom of the charger peice that goes in the phone, i just used a razor knife/box cutter to cut off the little hump in the middle. took me about 10 mins. but be very careful, not to break it. and don't force it into ur newer phone.

Let's all complain to LG about this Bluetooth Echo Problem and get it fixed ! - LInk Below !

Guys,

Here is the link to their tech support for phones.

Fill out the form , takes 5 sseconds and tell them about the bluetooth horror we are all experiencing. I sent a detailed document tonight explaining that its the phone and we have tested every headset.

If everyone does this, They will have to fix this fast or they will have alot of returns. Please post the responses you get back so we can see if they really care.

TERRIBLE reception in Charlotte NC

Almost every review I've read on the 8300 states "Awesome reception", "Great reception", "Pro's..reception".

Mine is absolutely the worst I have experienced in 10 years of cell phone use. Tons of dropped calls and missed calls where it went directly to voicemail.

Could it be a bad phone.........again!

Multiple Micro SD Cards

Just ordered 2 VX8300's due to all the excellent reviews and feedback on this site.

Is it practical to have multiple SD cards with different music categories on each one such as country music on one and rock on the other?

Thanks.

Camera or Display?

I have an 8100 and I am currently in my trail period of the 8300. The phone is OK but I notice the Camera/Camcorder mode displays noise/static alot more then my 8100. Anything with texture looks like there is ants all over it or like the pixels are in constant motion. I also notice when I take a picture, there are more hard pixelated edge on a smooth, curved surface making everything look blocky on the same resolution (default) as my 8100. Does anyone else have this noise/interference?

Bluetooth headset problems with 8300

I am having some aggravating problems with the 8300 and my Plantronics Discovery 640. First, when I dial a call about 30% of the time I can hear the party I called but they cannot hear me throught he headset. If I go to the menu and "switch to phone" they are able to hear me through the phone. Also, about the same percentage of the time when I answer a call, either by hitting the headset button or hitting the "send" key on the phone, I can't hear my party and I see a message on the phone that reads "audio switched to phone".

This is the second 8300 I have had in the last two weeks. I don't mind switching to another headset, but the 640 has worked great with all my other BT phones. Also, I don't want to buy another headset and find...

Note sure if it's been posted or not, but there is a way to leave the external screen on ALL THE TIME WITHOUT BACKLIGHTING. THis is cool since you can look to see the time without pressing a button. Doesn't use much battery I don't think since the backlight is still OFF. Well of course battery is consumed more much not sure how much. It's quite handy!
