LG VX-8300

hey- Im thinking bout getting the lg 8300 (ive had the 6000 for 2 years now!) and im guessing ill like it but i live in a Iowa, and from messages on here, not alot of stores have them out? Is this true that they may have them in the back..if so is there a choice they will sell it to me even if their 8100's arent all gone??

and while it is a nice phone like everyone says
i wouldnt buy this phone unless they came out with an updated version that had a clearer and brighter outer screen like the 8000, and where you could use the function of reading text messages with the phone closed. those two points that are missing are enough to make me not wanna buy the phone (as retarded as that may sound)
and enough with the bull about how they cant make the outer screen ttf or tft whatever it is, (where the outer screen is brighter and clearer) because it drains from the battery life. my 8000 goes for two days after its fully charged. Enough bullshit LG. make the upgrades and get with it.

i had the 8100 and then the razr came out so i thought it would be like an upgrade in features so i paid the $419 to get the V3c and i HATE IT!! 👿 so therefore i am thinking about switching to the 8300 since i LOVED 😁 my 8100...

any oppinions... i know the 8300 is only 249.99 to buy outright as well!

Just got the phone the other day, and couldn’t find anything in the manual on this.
Is there any way to change the color of the bar that appears on the front/main screen when the phone is set to vibrate mode? It is currently light blue. I know there is a way to change the theme color display bars (status and soft keys), but couldn’t find anything specifically for this. Why does there even need to be a separate bar that goes across the entire screen specifically for vibrate mode, instead of just an icon that appears on the regular screen bar?

Also, is there any other colors that can be used/uploaded for the status/soft key bars besides for the red, blue, green, purple, and light blue?

Two questions for the Mac Community:

Since I have yet to go wireless (PowerMac G5, 1.8 dual, but no bluetooth), I will be getting a microSD card and card reader. Any suggestions as to which ones, and any tips on making it all easier to use on a Mac?

Second, I have read that the headphone jack doesn't support a lot of stereo headphones. I purchased an inexpensive adapter from Radio Shack thinking I would use my iPod earbuds. Am I going the right way? (Addition: seems I am not. When using the adapter with the iPod earbuds, the sound is only one channel mono. Rats! A relatively inexpensive alternative? As you have surmised, I have a 4G iPod, but don't want to have to carry both around...)

I have the desktop charger for my 8100. Has anyone tried it with the 8300? I know the 8300 is thinner. Wondering if I put an extended battery on the 8300, if it would take up the slack of the 8100 and fit in front. Has anyone tried this?

Anyone know if they will be able to pair? I'm refering tp bluetooth conectivity.

Just got my 8300 today and it seems pretty good so far. I have one quick question, though. The default mode is to have speed dial #1 set as voice mail. Is there any way to change this?

I have a brand new LG VX-8300 and the speakerphone buzzes. Does anyone else have this problem?

What are the odds of getting a phone which doesn't have this problem if I exchange it for another VX-8300?

I ordered it online. Is there anyway I can exchange it at a local Verizon store, or do I have to mail it back?

For all you with LG VX8300 phones, Bitpim version 0.9.04 has been released, but not updated on their website as of this very moment. I downloaded it lastnight for my brother's 8300 and transferred ringtones and wallpaper. So far, so good 🙂 Enjoy!

I just bought the 8300 and wanted to know if i download a song from V-Cast can i use it as a ringtone? also, can i "trim" the song to a certain part that i want to use as the ringtone?

I just upgraded from my (very) old LG 4400 to an 8300 today. I live between two areas (20 miles from one and 50 from another) that are listed by Verizon as EV-DO areas. However, I alternate between 0-1 bars on both the EVDO scale and the other. I tried *228 without any change. I used to get 4-5 bars with the 4400. Any thoughts?

Anybody find a way to delete ringtones that you have downloaded and saved to "my ringtones"?
