BitPim and Calendar Usage
Does anyone use their 8300 calendar? I really want to sync my Yahoo calendar with my phone. I thought I found a way as I can sync yahoo with outlook and then outlook with the phone, but when BitPim came out for the 8300, the calendar option didn't work. Does anybody know if there will be a BitPim fix for this soon, or if there is some other workaround to get my Yahoo calendar on my 8300?
mp3 ringers on microsd
hey, this had been mentioned before but i couldn't find info on how to do it easily. i just put 83 ringtones, most of them over the 350k limit for emailed ones, on my phone without touching the internal memory. you need a data cable(the one in verizons music essentials kit works fine,) a memory card, a memory card reader, and bitpim 0.9.04 http://bitpim.org
1-create a new folder on the memory card called "ringers"
2-move all your mp3 ringers into the folder(i'm not gonna go over making them, it's been covered in a million other threads)
3-put the card back into the phone and power it on.
4-connect the phone to your pc with the data cable and make sure it's recognized by bitpim.
5-in bitpim click on the icon labeled "get phone...

Blueant X3 + 8300 + Echo
I have the Blueant X3 BT headset paired with my 8300. I have had people consistently tell me that they hear an echo. They hear their own voice as an echo, not mine. I don't hear an echo. When I use the handset to talk, no echo.
Now I wonder...is it the headset or the handset? Since I don't have any way of testing different headsets (I'm not rockefeller) or handsets (see previous), I'm looking to you guys/gals to help me figure out what my next "debugging" steps should be.
Thanks!

LG 7000 to LG 8300?
Anyone go from the 7000 to the 8300? I LOVE my 7000 and I don't really know if I want to give it up. I'm due for my new every 2 though, so I'm eyeing the phones up. I liked the 8100 better, but my local verizons don't have it anymore.
What will I find that's different? What didn't you like that changed?
The things I like most about my 7000...the big inner screen and vibrant colors (which I think is pretty stand across verizon these days), buttons that are easy to hit while txting, video option (though I don't really use it much), camera is okay, I do like the swivel option on the camera. I don't care much about having to open the phone to see txt messages, but I do want to be able to see a missed call etc (not necess who it was, b...

Universal Travel Charger?
I actually have 2 questions: 😁
(1) Does anyone use the Universal Travel Charger and like it? I like to keep a charger at my office, just in case. My only reason for considering this is that a second "real" travel charger costs $30 from VZW. This one is just $15.00. I already have the vehicle charger for the 8300.
The VZW website describes this item: "Convenient way to charge your handset battery. Great for in the office, at home or when traveling. Use with your Vehicle Power Charger (not included). Plug the Universal Charger into a standard wall outlet. Connect your vehicle power charger into the Universal Charger and to your handset."
(2) My first choice is to get a real travel charger, that doesn't need the car charger...

Bluetooth glitch
Sometimes when the other party answers, they do not hear me. It's fine when I redial. Also, sometimes when I say a name it doesn't repeat, but is listed on the screen. Anyone else experience this?

LG8300 bluetooth
I have tried every bluetooth headset under the sun and all I have to say is that LG dropped the ball....again. Every headset echos on the receiving end, great on my end. That combo makes it worthless. Also, bluetooth drains the 8300 battery so fast it ain't funny. In summary, the 8300 is leaving the building. Lots of potential but it has fallen short.

new phone, first charge -- how do I know when it's done coooking?
Just got my phone today so tonight is the first long charge period. I saw when I plugged the phone into the charger the front display says "battery charging" and then the screen goes dark (due to my settings). If I open the phone whil it's charging, the main screen says "battery charging". I'm leaving it charging overnight. I know in the morning it will be fully charged, but I'm wondering if there will be an indicator of some sort on the front screen, the main screen, or maybe there's a little light somewhere that will light up (and I can't see it yet?) Thanks for answering! 🙂

Data Cable
Can anyone give me a good reason to keep my music essentials kit? I use a card reader to put music on, I e-mail myself ringtones and Bitpim apparently does not support this phone.

SUPERMAN and the LG 8300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a dream last night that Superman was fighting Lex Luthor and suddenly a phone rang, he reached into his tights and guees what he pulled out? Yes, the LG8300. If it's good enough for Superman, it's goood enough for me. I'm just glad he didn't pull something else out of his tights,LOL. 🤣
