Thank You Sprint.

For having the balls to tell the NSA "no" when they asked you hand over customer information.

testing reception

I have been considering a switch to sprint for some time, but the 700p looks to put me over the edge. I am currently with T-mobile, and get NO reception at my house (the carrier doesn't even show on my handset). Cingular coverage would be adequate where I'm at, so I know there are towers.

Anyway.. on to my point.. a friend let me borrow an old Sanyo SCP-4500, and with it I get zero or one bar in the house, and a weak 2 bars outside. but it does seem to stay in the 'sprint pcs area' as it says. Is this phone a good indicator of coverage? (i.e. would a newer phone like the a900 or the 700p be able to cut it and provide decent reception in a building?) I would like to be able to drop my long distance land line, and just go with a mobi...

That Funny Song!!

Has anyone heard that hip hop song that completely disses Sprint Nextel? Something about turning off this guy's cell phone for $0.35? Hilarious yet the most corny song ever. Anyone have thoughts on that? What's the name of that song and who sings it? I can tell you already, this song WON'T be am availabile ringtone on the Sprint site! 🤣

question for you sprint/nextel reps...

I have a customer who activated a line on the sprint CDMA network last week...well, it turns out they dont have good coverage at their house, BUT they know the Nextel phones work out there. Whats the policy for the 14 day trial period when it deals with switching from CDMA to iDEN? ie, will they have to start a new account, or can it be converted easily? Thanks 🙂

Roaming?!?!? Sprint Site Contradicts Itself

I don't understand how roaming is or is not charged after reading the threads. I just saw alot of arguing.

I go to Sprint.com and look plans in my area and see that I can subscribe to the Fair and Flexible Plan that says "No roaming charges" at the top.

Notice it does not have an asterisk, but at the bottom of the page is a footnote that says "Domestic off-network roaming calls are $0.50 per minute with an extra $0.25 per minute long distance charge where applicable."

How can there be no roaming charges but I will be charged fifty cent for off-network roaming calls?

I don't understand.

Also what is the difference between Digital and Analog roaming?

Can't buy anything through Sprint.

I have the a920 and when i go to buy anything through vision, i can't. I go to the main downloads page and it refreshes everytime i click on anything. Then when i go online and do it, it says that this content is not available for your phone.

Coverage!!!

I currently live in the Atlanta area and just got Verizon. I canceled it to see how Sprint preforms in coverage wise. I was looking at the Samsung a900. Also I look at the coverage map and to fin that most of there coverage is green areas and I could not decipher from the digital roaming and the analog roaming. Does sprint rely heavily on analog or is there coverage mostly digital. I know that the a900 does not have the analog band, and I do travel alot to Etowah\Athens, Tennessee and was wondering how the reception was there and if you were roaming with verizon or something of that nature.

Comments would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Sprint and PowerVision (ev-do)

i wanted to say that now sprint has 750,000 (which is amazing growth) PowerVision (ev-do) customers on the network, and data arpu is now at $7. The PowerVision service has been on fire and one of sprint's biggest attraction becuase as you know it leads the industry in data content, speeds, data arpu and coverage and will continue the leadership going forward.

Mail in Rebates

So I don't like the change on overlays. Mail in rebates do nothing but p*ss off people. They see one price, and then when you tell them that $50 of it is a mail in, they get an attitude. It's supposedly an "industry standard" but I thought we we're doing good with instant overlays. Who wants to pay $100 for an i530? That phone still has a greeen screen 🤣

Used Sprint Phones?

Just wondering if there is any company anyone knows of who will buy used phones. I had a 3 line sprint contract for about 2 months and canceled it and switched to Cingular so I have 3 sprint phones just sitting here doing nothing. They are in fine shape I just hated sprint. If anyone knows any links or anything it would be appreciated.

Little Known Info

Sprint is offering a feature called sprint to home. For $5 a month, you get unlimited calling to and from your house phone. I know this was a good feature for alltel, but I haven't seen too many people sign up for it with sprint.
