OS 4.5 for BlackBerrys now available ...

... it's been out for a while now but this is "official" from BlackBerry. Indulge in all the html email goodness Sprint users !!! 😈

PLEASE READ the comments section if you do run into any problems as most questions are already answered. REMEMBER this needs to be installed through IE with the BlackBerry software on a comp NOT OTA with your Berry.

Yet another high executive in Sprint is gone...

Sprint's XOHM department aka their 4G/WiMAX division has finally been divested over to the new independently owned Clearwire company in which Sprint Nextel is the majority shareholder. Let's all say goodbye to Barry West, the now former Sprint CTO and President of their 4G Mobile Broadband division (Xohm Business Unit), Atish Gude, Barry's wing man as well as their team who deployed the first commercial WiMAX network in Baltimore, MD.

CDMA to LTE

I'm curious as what Sprint is planning for the future. It's committed to
WiMax, which from what I understand is for broadband not voice. Since all the other major providers have committed to LTE for all its wireless service, will Sprint stay with CDMA for voice or are they waiting until later to jump on the bandwagon?

I think sticking with CDMA will either place themselves in a nice niche, or it may turn out to be a serious strategic blunder if they don't go to LTE for voice.

Ayy Sprint Employees here at PS want to comment?

A lawsuit against Sprint was given class-action status on Monday after being filed in Kansas in February. The lawsuit alleges that a technical glitch in Sprint's computer system caused some sales to be unreported, thereby cheating retail sales employees out of commissions of US$100 to $500 per month.

Sprint has stated that it is disappointed that the suit received class-action status, and says that it remains committed to ensuring that all employees are paid any commission to which they are entitled. The total damages claimed in the lawsuit are over $5 million.

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch)

Telecommunications stocks ended narrowly mixed in a light trading session Friday, as a few issues such as Sprint Nextel Corp. and Motorola Inc. stood out.

In Friday's abbreviated session, prices fluctuated one day after the Thanksgiving holiday, which many market participants take off. The Dow Jones industrial average moved in and out of positive territory before surging for a 102-point gain to end the day.

Hope you got your already

Sprint.com has sold out of Touch Pro's online. You might still be able to get one in your local store though. I wonder when Sprint will release a Wi-max phone.

I hear that Wimax can be used for things like Digital cameras and camcorders, Personal media players, Video phones, Navigation systems, and car stereos. Just like a cell phone or laptop. 😁

Htc already has a 4g WiMax device with some pretty cool features on board. 😉 😉 Hint Hint Sprint I hope your listening. 😎

Sprint Service Outage

Anyone have the same problem? SMS Stopped working again for the 2nd time over the course of last week, and today.

Wonder what's going on? Maybe They are changing the towers over to WiMax?

They Outage lasted about 1 hr to 2 hrs here in Denver Colorado.

Just thought and see if anyone has had the same issues? Or new what was going on?

thanks!

Cruise ship roaming

I was helping a coworker with getting info on cruise ship roaming. She will be going to Jamaica and Cozumel.

She called customer service and they told her it would be $0.20/text. I told her to be sure to have a chat with the reps online that way she has a printout of the convo in case some info was given to her incorrectly (we also work in CS).

The rep online told her that texting is not available in those countries nor on Carnival Cruise lines; BUT if it you were able to do it then it would be $0.20/text send/receive. That statement contradicts itself. You can't say that we don't provide service then say IF you do it's this rate.

I understand that you cannot GUARANTEE service due to the fact that you are using someone else's towers...

Too many Whiners!

I see that Sprint has lost a few customers. Yes, a million is a few when you have multi-millions. I've been near them, far from them, listened and discussed with folks that have the service of Sprint. I laugh each and every time. They fussing about drop calls, where is my credit, the bill is too high, I cannot believe my deposit is that high. I got a friend that works for verizon...I am informed that people have deposits ranging from $0 to $800 per line!!!!! and AT&T, tell them a story that you feel is extremely important to you and that is why they should work with you on keeping your service on..they say awww how sad but service is still off. T-Mobile, great customer service! Data speed however is slow as heck....I think Sprint customers a...
