Was told new phone in testing....

I signed up on May 30th 2008.
Very simple process. $100.00 deposit, because I dont have the best credit, which was the LEAST of all the carriers (At&t wanted 700.00!!! Verizon $400!!! I know they have nation wide coverage and 3G or EV-DO but I dont think its worth all that.)
Anyway. Got a blackberry pearl. Got out the door in like less than 20 minutes.
I have had sprint contracted and at&t prepaid. And they got ok reception, nothing fantastic, nothing special. Sometimes garbled because I live in a garden apartment.
Now, I was scared because US Cellular isn't a major carrier, so I thought I would get home, have no service, and have to go return the phone.

On my last visit to the store to pay my last bill, the retailer mentioned that I won't get as good of service with my new carrier and she won't be surprised to see me back in there in 2 years.(She said it in a nice way, not in a rude way) Well I told her I'm happy with my AT&T service and that I seriously doubt she'll see me back in there EVER again). QUESTION I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER TO?
Just a quick question. I HAVE us cellular. LOVE THEM.
Anyway.. I have a used curve on hold at my local store. Can I have the amount of the curve added to my bill or would I have to pay the amount upfront? I have no problem in paying for it up front. It was just a question.
