Two cycles ago (i.e., four years or more) I had the best phone I've ever owned, the sadly discontinued Audiovox CDM 9900. Next, a slight step down but still acceptable LG VX 8300.

Now, after my extreme disappointment in the Boulder, I'm left wondering if there are any phones nearly as solid as that Audiovox I sorely miss. Any other phones near release I could wait on? I need to send this Boulder back. I'm skeptical about the Moto Adventure's design, but it may have to do. Reports on its battery aren't promising, though.

This was never the case with my old phones. What's up with Verizon? Are they focusing solely on little toy phones with slideout keyboard for teens?

I know it came out on VZW last Nov, but, does anyone know if there's anything in the makes for a replacement? (since it has been out for awhile on other carriers)

I plan on buying the Pearl Monday (my NE2 is finally here) and keeping it for the next 2 years, but I'd hate to buy it and see something come out real soon to replace it.

anyway, i've read a few things here and there about the voyager powering off for random things and the one i have is doing it any time the browser get's launched. will a cor verizon store flash the phone and will that correct the issue or should i get best buy to warranty it out?

I would like to get verizon wireless but, their deposit of $400.00 is very high. I do have bad credit and am working to fix this. But I do not want to have to pay the 400 and get it back after a year. I cannot have someone sign up for me since I am here alone. Is there anyway to get around this?

I just don't understand, if I don't pay, I don't get service, I do not understand they concept of a deposit, I get the company thinks its to ENSURE that I pay my bill, but it really doesn't...

If anyone could help, I would really appriciate it.

So I'm switching to Verizon from Sprint in the next month, and I'm researching phones. I've checked out what people have said on this site, but I have a few questions.

First, I've narrowed it down to either the LG Venus or Motorola MotoRizr. I have a couple of questions though:

• Which would you choose and why?


• The MotoRizr has versions Z6tv and Z6c? Is one better than the other? One says it has mobile email and the other doesn't? I'm pretty sure I tried the Z6tv at the store and it did have email. Is that just a mistake?

Basically, I use my phone for calls, TXTing, and mobile web, so I appreciate any advice. I know I can try one for 30 days and then try the other too which I may do....

Guys the Boulder has failed to live up to the standards of previous models, I can't give this phone my endorsement. The earpiece sound is muffled almost tinny sounding total crap. I have returned it for the Motorola Adventure which sounds amazing.

Ha Ha who here has seen Verizon's new PTT commercial? It's funny as hell! It has some loser sprint guy with a big yellow phone stuck in concrete, and he's trying to reach someone to get help, but his pos nextel phone doesn't work. Then a verizon guy pulls up and says we all switch to verizons push to talk. Most reliable Push to Talk!

The way verizon advertises I see more sprint bleeding on the horizon.

1- When the screen is off, I have to touch the buttons to get the screen to light up again. I can't figure out how the heck to change that setting so I can just touch the screen. Help?

2- Does anyone else have trouble scrolling through long text messages? The scrolling works fine everywhere else. It just won't let me scroll through long texts. Is that a phone issue?

3- Is there a way to change the menu items at the bottom of the main screen?

4- When using the browser, how to I change it back and forth from full internet to HTML?

Can somebody tell me if you need to subscribe to the vcast version of rhapsody to play subscription music on your phone? I already subscribe to rhapsody on the go and use it for my mp3 player. Will that also work with a phone?

Do any Verizon phones NOT use this format for voice dialing? Seems you used to be able to just push a button and then say a name. I don't think this is a "phone thing"...in other words...al their phones pretty much sue the same software/platform...right?

The proposed Halting Airplane Noise to Give Us Peace (HANG UP) Act was approved by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on a voice vote Thursday. I am so effing happy that this deal is done now! As of yesterday the FCC finally got off their asses and approved this! Thank god! Now its time to move to more markets and dominate! 😈 I just really hope that they dont take this long for Alltel. It doesnt seem that they will be taking this long though from what I have read at the FCC.
