It looks like Big Red took the top spot in Customer Service even eclipsing long time winner T-Mobile this time around.
Highlights:
Verizon Wireless ranks highest in wireless customer care performance with an index score of 103, followed by Alltel (102), T-Mobile (100) and AT&T (97). Specifically, customers report that Verizon Wireless performs particularly well in resolving problems in one contact.

What's on the horizon?
My main needs are a sturdy phone, preferably flip, with outstanding sound, good battery life, durability (I know it won't be as good as Boulder in that regard, but I'll take a functioning phone any day), and camera. I won't listen to music on it or require a slide-out keyboard. I do text a lot, but I'm fine with good predictive Word entry.
I'm pretty hard on phones, meaning I just jam them in a pocket and go. There could be other interesting features that would lure me in, but I can't think of them now. Mainly seeking high qualit...

Even Koreans turn off mobile TV
By Andrew Orlowski

Despite billions invested in turning mobile phones into pocket TV sets, the public continues to find it all a giant yawn. A study by TMC Media published earlier this month suggests that peak-time viewing of direct broadcast TV on phones in Korea barely exceeds the pollsters' margin of error.

Which begs the question - if the Koreans don't want mobile TV, then who does? Despite the cu...

I Love VZ Navigator
I don't have a GPS unit in my car, but I do have VZ Navigator, namely for the aforementioned reasons, as well as the fact that I'm the absolute worst person for getting lost and whatnot. Despite it having me take a drastically different route that was so far outside of my original route, it managed to get me home only ten minutes later than intended.
Yes, I realize that this ...

America’s Most Reliable Wireless Network!!
Cell phone towers still vulnerable to power outages
Five years after the largest blackout in North American history on Aug. 14, 2003, it isn't just utilities that still are having problems meeting reliability standards. So are many many wireless telephone companies, whose cell phone towers would go silent after several hours of no commercial power.
When 6 million Michigan residents lost their power in 2003, and as seen in several natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina in 2005, cell phone towers soon started running out of power from backup batteries, making it very difficult for people to communicate.
For more than a year, the Federal Communications Commission has been trying to institute rules that wou...

Supertooth 3 & Phone Book Upload
I called Blueant and discussed a phone model they said should work "IF Verizon did not have any network restrictions". If they did, I was told to ask about the availability of a firmware upgrade that would allow the built-in bluetooth functionality to work.
Off to a Verizon store where I found the phone and was promptly told it was restricted and no firmware upgrades are available...why a cell company would restrict this function to impede total hands-free is nuts...but, it ...
