Phone that can restrict calls

Does Verizon currently have a phone that has the capability to restrict calls to just the contacts list? I know that LG3450 would do it, and I sold it many times because of that, but now we can't order that phone anymore. Does anyone know if any of the current phones can do the same? The Coupe maybe? Please let me know. I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!

I heard eventually in order to keep up with demanding internet usage, Verizon would have to go GSM. Is this true?

Verizon Announces Open Access Conference

"A few months ago Verizon Wireless was slathered with media love for announcing they'd be opening up their wireless network. If you dug deeper, you found that what Verizon meant was that they'd be offering a service tier that allows users to connect any approved CDMA device to the network. They'll still be heavily promoting their crippled phones to the majority of customers, but they'll be at least giving the option of open-access. Of course you'll probably be charged a steep premium for the privilege. [Surprise Surprise] LOL

Today the company announced they'll be hosting an Open Development conference in March, hosted by a think tank named the New America Foundation. Verizon's Open Development Initiative will use the conference to...

Designer Phone Coming To Verizon!

I was on the phone with Verizon because I wanted to upgrade to the BB Pearl and did not end up getting it because of the data plan. I asked the rep if he knew when the samsung u940 was coming out and he said he didnt know, but he said that Verizon is getting the actual LG Prada with the Prada branding in the Semmer! I cant wait to see that and I will buy it the first day it comes out!

NE2 Question

I know the answer is probably in this forum somewhere but after looking for 10 minutes I gave up. I am eligible for a NE2 starting tomorrow but don't really like anything that is being offered right now. I have a Motorola Q and have been happy with it - the new Q is not really an upgrade except for a nicer keyboard, the Samsung SCH-i1760 is a piece of garbage, and the Mogul is a little bulky. The HTC 5800 seems like a possibility, but wish it had Wifi. How long is my NE2 good for? Like I said, I am eligible for NE2 tomorrow and my 2 year contract is up on April 13th.

Open Access clarification

For those of you questioning the open access...here is some clarification for you. February 14th starts the open access policy. The list of phones that was posted was correct; HOWEVER, you can use other CDMA phones. Here is how. You go to the store and fill out a form, you provide them with the CDMA phone you want to use, they ship your phone to the testing lab and in roughly 3 weeks the phone comes back approved or denied. For the one that asked about the Ocean...it just has to pass testing. The phones on that list are pre-approved because they match previous CDMA phones. For the one who says they work for the company and stated the ability for GSM....Uh...no. Verizon Wireless is a CDMA carrier. GSM phones will not work on Verizon ...

Nationwide Plan Question

I am getting close to upgrading my phone. My question concerns the new nationwide plans. Are there any family plans with fewer than 700 minutes? I truly only need like 450 because there are only two phones and we come no where close to 450 minutes a month. I was just wondering if there are any unadvertised plans.
Thanks.

Where are all the Verizon/CDMA phones at MWC?

There have been some great phones coming out of the MWC from the likes of Samsung and Sony Ericsson, but it seems like they are all GSM/EDGE. Can we expect to see anything come out of the conference that would be compatible with Verizon's network?

APC874, this deserves it's own thread. Time to face the music.

I read that you were taking your 15 business lines to at&t, fair enough. However, wanted to know some of the following:

- Did you opt for a BES or a BIS program?
- If for a BES, what was the licensing?
- What was your IT implementation with a BES?
- Did it mirror your previous BES with VZW?
- With at&t as a small business customer, did you go with any vertical solutions if they were appropriate?
- What about the at&t AMB program, were you able to take advantage of that?
- Sounds like you have enough CRU's, perhaps you may even get some IRU's for your folks, was that explained?
- Since data plans are exactly the same for BES and BIS, where did leverage an additional $100 in savings? Voice lines? Officereach?

And since you had not...

Is the EnV worth the Beefyness?

Sorry for all the questions. Signing a contract with Verizon and need a good phone. Is the EnV a better choice over the Voyager? Is it's beefyness justified by the large QWERTY keyboard?

Story time

So today a girl calls in stating that she's been waiting since November for her rebate and that $50 is really a lot of money for her, (a point she stresses multiple times). All the while threating to quit VZW if she doesn't get her rebate because it is a "shady company."

I tell her I'd be happy to help her figure out what happened to her rebate. Ask her if she's had a chance to check online for the rebate center. She states she doesn't have internet. I say, "That's ok I can look it up for you."

So we're going over everything and I let her know that we received the rebate info sometime in December, 2007 and the rebate has been mailed on 1/8/2008. She states that she's in college and living at school. (Yet, she doesn't have internet?)
