Q9C

I heard that the Q9C is due out on Verizon is early April. Can anybody tell me the key differences between the q9m and q9c? Is the q9c worth waiting for over the q9m?

Serious question from a customer.

I am with T-Mobile and my wife is on Verizon.

T-Mobile experience:

Last year I left Verizon and went to T-Mobile with a 1 year contract but I already owned a T-Mobile dash that a friend gave me. I told this to the rep and he said I should take a free phone anyhow since I am paying for it with my contract. He almost insisted.

Verizon experience:

My wife had a Nokia 6263i that she really liked and still wanted to use. I wanted to get her off of the limited employee plan (since 1997) and onto a modern national plan. When I told the rep that we already had a phone that we wanted to use she said that if we took a free phone we would HAVE to use that phone; we couldn't keep it as a spare. I just got off of the phone now with Veriz...

Open network update: a little bird told me...

Feb 14th is when the list of "approved devices" will work. Then if you want to activate something else you have to send it in until we update the approved devices list. Basically verifying it won't harm the device or the network to use it, and getting the unlock code. Funny thing I found out: as much as people complain about vzw phones being restricted...we are one of the few carriers who's phones are unlocked out of the box. Good to go! No wonder we bought out surewest...all I could ask for is fios in nor-Cal!

Specs on signal strength

I need a Verizon phone with the best signal strength possible for in the mountains of Tennessee. What should I be looking at on the spec sheets to see which phone is better than the other? Any help would be great, thanks.

Voyagers for Employees

Ok, I am employed with Verizon Wireless, I have been waiting and waiting. I have heard of some release dates for employees to purchase this phone and was just wondering if anyone else had any information.

You would think with that TV ad with the domino's of Voyagers falling down that there would be some for us employees to purchase...lol.

Any in-site on the date for employees would be great. I heard 2/15/08, right in time for us to spend out STI on the phone.

Looking to switch to VZW, phone recommendations

I am through with T-mo next month and am looking to get on w/ VZW as my current employer gets a decent discount and their phones now seem pretty cool and there service seems to have gotten better. I am between the Venus, New Chocolate, and Voyager. I like the touch screen aspect of the Voyager and Venus but I use my phone as my music player and was wondering which gives the best player experience. I saw on the review of the voyager that you can't do anything else when playing music w/ the voyager. I also know that they hadn't updated the software yet. Has this issue been address? Also can I use the player in a vertical state or does it always need to be played horizontally?

New windows based Treo?

I had a treo 700w a couple years ago and had major reception problems around my area and ended up with a razor (like the rest of the world) Now with a new job I am looking at needing a smart phone again, but my options boil down to a Q and a treo. I'm not crazy about the Q and have already had a Treo 700. The 755p came out, but of course there is no 755w, does anyone know of a time frame a new windows based treo might hit the market for Verizon?? Thanks!

As you have all heard, Verizon is committed to opening it's network to other CDMA devices. This goes into effect February 14th, barring any delays or complications.

Enjoy.

fieldforce or equivalent for PDA's, BB?

Wondering that, 3rd party apps would be nice as well, does anyone have a good suggestion for such an app? I know it's an impossibility, at least currently, with anything, and my customers would like BB over other PDA's, but are willing to go with something else if it gives them the capabilities they want. Thanks!
