I have a rooted droid running Android 2.3.3. Before I rooted and after I rooted, I have had a problem where the data connection will just disconnect. It doesnt switch to 1x, the data connection is just gone. It has happened with both Droids I've owned. Is this a network issue, or could it be a hardware issue? Whenever it happens, turning the 3g off and on with the power widget will usually resolve it, but sometimes I have to reboot the phone. Thanks for any responses.

It's been mentioned here that reps usually have some advanced knowledge about a release since they are given training in prep for selling. I don't know if that would be the case for the Dinc 2 since it will not differ much from the T-bolt in terms of UI and features (minus LTE of course), but what do I know? 🙂 I hoping someone here in the know will blab about it 😎

Please answer this only if you know what you are talking about....and if you answer in all caps I will not take you seriously. Do you have to go through V cast to have music. Or can you just have a regular music player. And if so,just getting on V cast, does that cost you anything without buying? The HTC Thunderbolt is out and soon the Motorola DROID Bionic will release. While the specs are close with these two phones I'm on the fence on what might be the best.

The most noticable divider is the processor and RAM. The Thunderbolt has more RAM but the Bionic will have a duel-core processor.

I'd like to hear peoples thoughts on these two. I know by the Bionic not being out yet it's hard to make a solid decision. In the end which ever works better will be the best in my opinion. And I've researched a bit on Processor vs. RAM and I still would like more input.

For those who may know a bit more about hardware like processors and RAM please share. I'd also like to hear from those who are current Motorola and HTC Android users...

Has anyone heard if there will be any new Blackberry phones coming to Verizon soon?

Forgive me if already addressed (couldn't find anything via search). I have set my Preferred Network Type to WCDMA only (via *#*#4636#*#*) and my Droid X keeps switching back to CDMA auto (PRL) or it will be set to WCDMA and still connect to 1x. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong??? Getting frustrated.

My workplace has extenders, which do not work for data, but I'm trying to force 3G only so that it does not switch as often. Kills my media streaming and battery life. TIA

Well first off I would never come on here and bash Verizon Wireless, since I came from hating ATT/Cingular with a passion it was a no brainer to switch and have never regretted it ever since. First things first. I've had the Drioid X for sometime now. I have started running into issues with roaming in that When not on a call it roams into 3G and then when I get a phone call it drops 3G and I am roaming. Can't explain why, I did the *228 to update my roaming capabilities but that didn't help the situation.

Now my rants....For the past few years or however long Android's been around I keep open source this and open source that but why is it when Verizon gets a new Android handset they are constantly putting their Verizon VCAST crap al...

anyword on the bionic yet? ive been waiting forever

I'm currently using a BB 8830 that was given to me by a friend. I (and my wife) have been eligible for a NE2 upgrade for quite a while based on 2 phones that we bought under contract from Alltel. Here is where I need help. 1st: When I got the BB I just added the $29.99 "unlimited" web and email to my existing (Alltel) Family Share plan. So, if I get a new smart phone under the NE2, can I keep my existing plan which was grandfathered for me when VZW bought Alltel? We also have our nights starting at 7:00 PM rather than 9:00PM. I keep hearing that the $29.99 data plan will soon go away. If it does, can I keep my old plan if I get a new Bionic, iPhone, or whatever as well as upgrading my wife's dumb-phone? I have friends & family. I've had it for a few yrs now. This month I've noticed the friends & family minutes are being counted in peak minutes to. Glitch in the system? Someone going to fix it? Am I the only one who has caught this?


I called *611. They said they can't look at current details.

So after nearly 2 years of mostly satisfied MotoDroid 1 use it's time to start thinking about its replacement.

I'm pretty sure I want to stick with an Android phone but am open to suggestions. For example when the NE2 clock ticks down in July the now new HTC will probably have any rough edges worked out and maybe the price will come down too.

The current Motorola Droid offerings are probably at end of life and due for replacements ... at least now that they are being heavily discounted that indicates to me that a replacement is bound to show up.

What are the rest of you leaning to with regards to the next smartphone in the cue? IPhone ?? A Windows phone isn't that appealing to me.

Verizon had the iPad 1 Otterbox rugged case on clearance for 60 bucks, and I was able to use my employer discount to receive 25 % off the clearance price, meaning I paid 48 dollars on a 100 dollar accessory for my awesome iPad!!! I love VZW!!

Is it worth it to pay $5.18/month or $6.99/month (depending on the type of insurance) for insurance, with a $99 deductible? I got the phone for about $200. So in 1 year, this total will be $62.16 or $83.88. If I go through one year and my phone gets lost after that year it will be $62.16/$83.88 + $99.99.

The headphone jack is fault. The left ear doesn't work all the time. This is an issue that many people have.

Based on my understanding, if I exchange it, I have to pay a $35 restocking fee. That is BS.

I was right in my prior posts to just wait til all the issues are known before I get this device. So far, the issues are battery and this headphone jack. Why don't I listen to myself?
