Verizon...

...sucks. Sorry I couldn't resist. They all do, right? Except for Page Plus. Anyways...so I went down to the store to glance at the Thunderbolt. Yep! Evo clone looking like an overgrown Incredible. I was impressed, but not enough to consider upgrading from my Incredible...ever. Verizon is setting a dangerous precedent. Signing up customers on a feature and then removing that feature from their account. No way I risk my grandfathered features.

I would say, "But I've had those features since 2005 and you never changed them when I upgraded."

Those *Bleepards*: Tough! As we have established with the Ev--I mean Thunderbolt a feature CAN be removed from a phone if it is 4G and we've had enough of you raping us with this Unlimite...

Bluegrass Cellular

😒 Does anyone know if there is any news about verizon eating them so my area can have some competition in the area. Bluegrass goes to roaming as soon as you leave the small Kentucky area. So I have AT&T and my wife goes home every week for temple and I am out of touch with her for 7 hours. I want her to be able to reach me if she gets into trouble. Any news?

Could Someone explain this?

I Have had verizon for six years. For 5 of those I've had 5 phones on my family share plan. That breaks down to 4 smart phones & 1 plain flip phone. 1400 voice minutes, unlimited data, unlimited text & pictures. My job allows a max of 200$ a month expense towards my phones. So typically I pay a little under 200$ a month myself. I've never had my service interupted for non payment. My dh & I are the only ones on the contact to use our up grades. My daughter does not want a new phone at all. Grandma, 80 yrs old, 2 strokes, can only use her black berry storm. Because the key pad is large and light's up when you touch it, it's just easier for her to use. The cheap flip phone works all the time, even in areas where our smart phones don't. And h...

4G Phone on Family Plan

I currently have a two line family plan and am wondering how it would work if/when I want to add a 4G phone. I see it's already possible to upgrade to the Thunderbolt and apparently I would only need to add a larger data option.
I thought though that 4G plans were different and possibly cheaper than the current plans..? Currently it looks like I can add the 4G device and keep the same plan. So, are the plans going to change and when they do will it be necessary for all devices on a 4G family plan to be 4G capable? I'm wondering if down the road the phone on the second line will also need to be upgraded. Hope this is clear πŸ™‚

port landline to google voice

Hi,
Not sure where to post this so figured here cuz I have verizon... I've been eager to port my land line to google voice and just realized they now allow it for mobile numbers. So I'm thinking I could port my comcast land line to a temp mobile account, then port to google voice. Any one know of a cheap/easy way to do this without a contact? I'd pay a months worth with another carrier...

another question...

I've Always been able to put my up graded phone on next months bill.

But in January & Febuary I made payment arangments. It was where we were helping my sil who's fighting double liver cancer and we helped her with some of her medication's. Which is neither here nor there with verizon.

I honored the payments. Not disconnected.

But towards the end of the next billing cycle I'm thinking of buying the htc thunderbolt. All though I'm looking at other phones comeing out to.

Think I will still be allowed to purchase my new phone and add it to the bill after that? Or will they hold those payment arangments against me?

And verizon stores can't handle up grades? The nearest verizon store ids 45 min drive (one way). But a few days ...

Passing up on the HTC Thunderbolt, what phones will be coming out and better?

I'm just used to waiting now, plus I am cool with a blackberry on a $15 data plan at the moment.

I wouldn't want to be the first to get the HTC Thunderbolt. I can see many problems coming.

I've heard good things about Droid X, so I am not worried about the Droid Bionic failing.

Besides the Bionic, what others will be worthy competitors.

What's the Incredible 2 about?

I plan on getting one before summer hits. I was going crazy waiting for the HTC Thunderbolt, but I feel they failed with the marketing of it. Too much hype, reading about the battery issue, the multiple delays, has turned me off from it completely.

HTC Thunderbolt

I am so glad that the Thunderbolt is coming out. Anyone know how much the phone would be outright since I've already used my NE2 or whatever it's called now?

Thanks

Bionic or ThunderBolt

I can't makeup my mind which phone to get. I currently have a Droid 2. I know the ThunderBolt comes out tomorrow. I can wait for the Bionic. What are your thoughts?

wasnt 4g supposed to be cheaper than 3g?

I am just kind of curious, with everything I've read about 4g lte, isn't it supposed to be cheaper to operate in the long run for the network operators? Verizon is going to tiered prices soon, what do you think is a reasonable price scale? i think 5 dollars a gigabyte would be a reasonable tier, regardless of device (hotspot, phone, usb modem). Unlimited would be nice for $30 on 4g but thats not realistic from what Verizon has stated. whats your thought?

Metrico Wireless claims Verizon iPhone just as fast as AT&T

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2011-03-07-verizon ... »

NEW YORK ΓƒΒ’Γ’β€šΒ¬β€ΒThe Verizon iPhone loads Web pages just as fast as AT&T's version of the phone, even though Verizon's network has lower data speeds, a phone testing firm reported Monday.

Verizon Wireless started selling Apple's phone in February, as the first carrier to do so in the U.S. after AT&T.

Verizon uses an older network technology with data speeds lower than AT&T's. Testing firm Metrico Wireless said data downloads on the Verizon iPhone turned out to be half as fast as those on AT&T's network.

However, because Web pages load just as fast, users may not notice the difference, except when downloading large files.

Verizon Wireless is widely thought t...
