Mississippi Interstate 55

Question: Does anyone have information on when Verizon will fill in the holes on I-55 from memphis to New Orleans? Verizon coverage through Grenada MS and then it drops off. Picks back up in Jakson MS. EVDO in Memphis, Jackson, and New Orleans...but 1x in-between. I had heard that Verizon was going to upgrade all of its towers to EVDO at some point...and that every new tower built would automatically have EVDO. With the recent purchase of Unicel (GSM in MS)... what affect will this have on me? When will they change the towers from GSM to CDMA?

Data with no voice plan

Ok. So I searched the forums trying to find a definitive answer to this, but didn't seem to be able to find anything to fully clarify if this is possible.

Basically what I'd like to do is to continue to use my A930 as my primary phone for voice on a single line 450 min plan. However, I would like to add a XV6700 to my acct to use as a data only device. I will not be using it at all for voice, as I have my other phone for that and I barely use the 450 min as it is. So is it possible for me to add a 2nd line on my acct with no voice plan and just add unlim data to it for the 6700?

Phonezoo.com issues with Verizon ?

I have been using phonezoo.com to get ringers, lately I have noticed that it takes hours for me to get texts from Phonezoo as to where before I got them right away from phonezoo.

My wife has the same problem as do a couple other people I know, all of which use Verizon. A friend who uses Cingular has no problem at all receiving them.

Has anyone else heard of this issue?

Thanks!

***Do you think its worth it??***

I currently have a single line 39.99 plan with $10txt package and $4.99 for insurance. I was offered by my sales director: $100/added line for a Q9 with $50 mail in. So this would mean I would have to step up to the 69.99 price plan with a $10 text on just one line (the other wouldnt be used just a back up line) plus the $4.99 insuance and lastly the $44.99 data for 2 years. I mean is this phone THAT cool??? It would be nice to keep my work schedule/apt's all together but what do you guys think???

Another MVNO Bites the Dust...

First Amp'd, then ESPN Mobile, now Disney:

The MVNOs are dropping like flies. So much for the 'brave new business model' that was s'posed to take off like wildfire. 😲

GrandCentral & IN calling?

This is probably a dumb question and I think I know the answer already but whatever.

I have GrandCentral. Does this kill IN calling? Since it's not a VZW number even though it's still going to a VZW phone...

MSN Money/Zogby Poll- Customer Service Hall of Shame...

MSN-Money and Zogby teamed up to do a poll of which companies (not just wireless carriers, but ANY company) were the most despised in the field of customer service.

Perhaps not surprisingly, three of the 'Bottom 10' of the 400 companies nominated by respondess were in the wireless field, and Verizon was one of those. ☚ī¸

But guess who was the worst of the worst? Yup... Sprint. đŸ˜ŗ

Here's the Bottom 10, ranked by the percentage of respondees ranking their customer service as 'Poor':

#1 Sprint 40%
#2 Bank of America 30%
#3 Comcast 30%
#4 Time-Warner cable 29%
#5 ATT 26%
#6 Citibank 24%
#7 Wal-Mart 23%
#8 Verizon 22%
#9 Wells Fargo 21%
#10 DirecTV 20%

One quote from the article:

"Sprint has the type of customer se ...

Interesting offer

I am an AT&T TDMA customer waiting for the Q4/07 or Q1/08 phones to come out before deciding to switch to AT&T GSM or Verizon. In the meantime I just got a mailing form AT&T to upgrade to GSM for a free nokia 2610 or an LG CU405> the LG requires that I get the $9.99 Media Net feature. Plus, they offer 200 extra minutes a month for the first 12 months or a $25 credit. I would rather get a more advanced phone than the ones offered. Hopefully this offer is valid on other phones also. Maybe the offers will get better as February draws closer. Are there any switch to Verizon from AT&T offers available?
Thanks

New Phones? Z6 not on Testman anymore?

I am waiting for the new phones to come out end of this year as I've heard to see if it helps with the price of the V9M. I saw the z6 on testman site for a bit but it is gone now. Any ideas on either situation?

i760!!!

OMG 😲 This phone is SICK!!! For starters, the look is, well... different. I like the form factor. I can't believe this came with an extended battery. I've been using the standard battery since 530, still 3 bars left in it. Now for you Q9m users out there, this thing blows it out of the water. The processor is so much faster in this device. I know, I sent back my Q for this. Let you guys know more in a couple of days. Hope it gets released soon, I think I may need some input from some veteran pda users. 😉

Which phone for Verizon to choose?

Okay, so the Razr 2 which I have long awaited seems to NOT be the phone that everyone thought it was going to be. I've heard alot of them are going back.

Then the new Chocolate was my other choice, but it just seems very small and plasticy, more like a toy rather than a solid phone.

SO, last night I found the ROKR. I was thrilled thinking it had ITUNES on it only to find out it does not!

What I want is simply a phone that I can get ringtones (from GET IT NOW because I haven't a clue how to do it otherwise). I currently have a Q and it works perfectly fine but the standard ringtones are SO BORING!!! Any ideas?
