new verizon policy hurts indirects

so i just read the qrg for minimum advertised price that verizon just implemented. basically if an indirect is offering an "new, exciting device" as vz puts it, at a lower price than the MAP an indirect cannot advertise a price lower than the MAP, so say an indirect is offering a really good deal, better than a vz corporate store they can still give you the deal, but they can't actually advertise it...they have to post the MAP and if an indirect violates this they can lose access to these "new, exciting devices"

now i know that they don't want us undercutting them, but isn't that a little draconian? we already can't do alot of things that corporate is allowed to do (ie look at bills, notes on accounts, cancel contracts, etc) so why do th...

Stop Speculating...NO phones are coming out tomorrow.

As someone stated earlier, Verizon is only announcing the phones tomorrow so you can drool over them for a while. If I know Verizon, they are probably going to introduce some revolutionary new pre-order system for these phones, and release one for preorder at a time. That being said, I'll bet money that the Voyager isn't out before Thanksgiving. I believe that will be the last one announced. The Juke will probably be available for preorder soon though.

Unsupported phones

Would this work for getting VZW to support phones purchased from other countries?

http://www.ehow.com/how_2051233_change-esn-number.html »

It basically tells you how to change the ESN number on your phone. If you were to change the ESN number of a non-supported phone to one that is currently existing on your account, would it work?

Hmm... Order of the phones on the VZW 'Next' Teaser site changed

Anyone else notice that the order of the phones on the VZW 'Next' teaser site has changed?

The Pearl 2 and the 8800 swapped places. It's now:

Juke
8800
Pearl 2
10K

Guess the order of releases has been shaken up, eh? 😉

Moto Q 9C

I've read about it. I've seen pictures of it. And I think I like it. Does anyone know if/when VZW will roll out the Q 9C. Some of us don't need the media apps and aren't wild about the red stripe around the 9M.
Also, I don't think anyone is going to be able to run to the nearest VZW store or log on to the website and order a BB Pearl tomorrow. The front page of this website announced the phone for CDMA yesterday and RIM said it would be available in NOVEMBER and that so far no carrier has announced plans to carry it.

LG VX-8700 vs. Motorola V9m

My new every two is up and I'm looking at these two phones. Does anyone know what the differences between them are? Is each solidly constructed and equally likely to last?

Verizonwireless.com/next

We received a email saying all four phones will be released this quarter. I think the U470 will be released first and it will come in three colors.

Beginning Oct 7; change your plan without extending contract!

In yet another step aimed at offering American consumers the “most customer friendly” experience in the wireless industry, Verizon Wireless today announced that it will provide all of its customers the ability to change calling plans without requiring contract extensions.

Starting October 7, new and existing customers will have the option to change their voice and data calling plans – selecting current plans with different minute allowances or text messaging and data use options – without changing the end date of their contract. The policy will become part of the company’s industry leading customer promise, the Verizon Wireless Worry Free Guarantee®.

Incoming Call Announcement

Hi everyone...

I'm up for my NE2 soon and I currently have the LG vx8300. One of the features I absolutely love is the incoming call announcement, where the phone will say, "Call from....." before the music begins to play.

What other VZW phones do this??? Any help would be appreciated.

New for 2?

My mom has that crappy Moto that was free when you purchased a Razr(my mom and dad got new phones in 06). Anyway, her phone dies after making 1 phone call and it stays on the charger all the time. My dad says that she just needs a new battery but she really needs a new phone. Does she really have to wait until May 08 to get a new phone with instant rebate or can she get one now and still get a rebate? 😕

verizonwireless.com/next music

Hey everyone,
I was just curious, does anyone know what the name of the song is that plays on VZW's "next" website? I tried to ID it using VCastSong ID, but it didn't turn up any results.

The song's not bad; I wonder if they'll be using this for TV promos for the new phones?

Pearl vs VX10000

I am really on the fence as far as which one I want or need. For those that have made the move over to a BB or any other smartphone what would you say were the benefits you found?

4 New Phones For Verizon Being Released Shortly! ! ! !

Verizon has launched a "teaser" site with 4 new phones listed. (http://www.verizonwireless.com/next)

The phones are cloaked, with only parts of them visible when you move your mouse over them. There is also a Countdown Clock showing how long until the phones will be fully visible (or released?). If we assume that they are using EDT, that would be on Wednesday morning, at 1AM. If PDT time is used, that would be Tuesday, at 10PM.
