Alltel buy out...
LG VX-8550 is another LG disaster ! What has happened to them ?
So this is just for starters, I will write more later but talk about dissapointing..
The voice quality on the earpiece is muffled and low quality. The outside caller hears a very degraded voice modulation similiar to some of the cheap samsungs.. The bluetooth is more horrible than you can imagine..
Using the BH600 Nokia which is a nice baseline for quality, the outside caller could barely understand me.. This headsets works pretty well on the 8300,8600 and 8700 ( Not great on the 8600)..
It appears the echo problem with bluetooth is worse than ever. The outside caller hears themself back on their own ear constantly with bluetooth.
Great LG, another problematic phone that most likely will not b...

Blackberry Curve ? When ?
New Question: Release date leaks?
I would imagine that if the 6800 was coming out the next day, employees would find out at least a few days early? Is there any truth to this, or could VZW employees show up and be shocked the day of?
What makes Verizon better than the others
AT&T= good network, good phones, BAD billing and SLOW, though good CS, good pricing, decent coverage
T-Mobile= good network, good phones, good customer service and billing, good pricing, decent coverage
Sprint= Good phones, good network and coverage, BAD billing and CS, good pricing.
This friends, is it in a nutshell. The reason VZW STILL edges out T-Mobile is COVERAGE. The same reason they always beat the OLD Nextel in terms of a quality experience.
This is a non-biased opinion. I have Sprint (Nextel), so I feel I'm speaking honestly.

Bye bye VZW. Hello SPRINT!!
At VZW i had the following phones: MOTO KRZR, MOTO e815, LG 8100, Samsung u540.
1. E815 - AWESOME PHONE!!! Best VZW phone of all time in my opinion. I love the speed and quality of Motorola UI. Battery life lasts forever and call quality is better than any VZW phone.
2. 8100 - WORST PHONE EVER!!! Speakers blew. Front screen went white. 2 keys stopped working. Bluetooth is choppy. Battery life sucks. VZW UI sucks. Signal bad.
3. u540 - BAD BAD Battery life. Gotta charge it half way through the day. Annoying speaker phone cuz u gotta reset it every time u use it. Bluetooth choppy. Signal is good though. VZW UI sucks once again. Samsung UI on Sprint and AT&T is bad ass. Too bad :/
So yeah...

What the hell?
Maxx best build of all MOTORAZR
Hold it next to a V3/c/m/xx and you will be comparing plastic against magnesium and hardened glass. I love my Maxx. The V9m has WAY too many tradeoffs to get 2 or 3mm thinner.
"Comprised of aluminium, magnesium and chemically hardened glass displays, the MOTORAZR maxx Ve does more than just reflect your sophisticated style. "
Of course Maxx Ve has full Bluetooth. Nice job, Verizon.
VZW says my LG VX8300 won't support a card reader! True??
I then went to the Apple Store and bought a card reader with which I was told I could transfer pix from the card to my iMac without having to use the carrier supported Picture Page, which would charge me for my transfers.
Now I get an email from a Verizon person which is pasted below this text. My question to you is: Is that Verizon tech correct? Is it true that the LG VX8300 will not support my card reader? Because if this is true, then I will return the LG and activate my old Nokia that I was using. -Lorna
The letter from Verizon to me is below:
"Dear Lorna,
I am sorry to hear of your frustr...

Apple issues battery program for iPhone--- Time for a good laugh
SAN JOSE, Calif. - A consumer advocacy group has expressed outrage over Apple Inc.'s battery replacement program for the iPhone, while developers and hackers are trying to figure out ways they could expand the capabilities of the hot new gadget.
The hybrid cell phone, iPod media player and wireless Web-browsing device launched to much fanfare on June 29.
On the same day, the Foundation for Consumer and Taxpayer Rights fired off a letter to Apple and AT&T Inc., the cell phone's exclusive carrier, complaining that customers were being left in the dark about the procedure and cost of replacing the gadget's battery.
