Question for Gunny

Have you actually tried to talk on the G'zOne underwater? My coworkers and I were just wondering whether it would work (aside from the water garbling sound quality, of course).

Does anyone know when Verizon will do a build out in Mississippi? Jackson just got service like 6 months ago...and Verizon coverage is not continous along the interstate. Of course we can roam on good-ole Cellular South...but you can't send pic's or anything.

Any news?

BB Pearl May 7th?

What's with the Rumor about the BB Pearl going to Verizon/Sprint on May 7th. I think someone got this wrong. Maybe an 8800 series but there hasn't been any info on a Pearl. Any concrete info/pic of just what Merrill Lynch Says.

Samsung SCH-U740 How to add ringtones via PC?

Hey all,

Just got this phone. How do I add ringtones with my PC? I know I have to get the USB cable, but I'm not quite sure what to do with the ringtones once they are transferred to the phone. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks for your help!

High Speed Data

Does anyone know, why is Verizon releasing new phones with only 1x EV-DO RELEASE 0 data capability, when the network in many places is already upgraded to handle the faster 1x EV-DO Revision A speeds?
Is it simply a software upgrade that allow it connect to the higher speed network? Or is it dependent on the phone's hardware?

Whats with the hiring??

I live here in central florida and noticed that verizon has a ton of positions available for retail sales. Anyone know why they have so much availability? I found this odd because for the last year the retail sales positions were few and far bar in between. I was always under the impression that verizons sales team were well paid both comp./hourly and happy to work there. I hope this is still the case and there hasnt been any comp. changes that is causing this. I say this because i'll be starting for VZ in a few weeks and im coming over from another company that has screwed it employees over for the last 3 years. so what do you all think of this????????

What if I b*t*h?

If I threaten to cancel my account because I can get data from Sprint for only $15 per month, do you think Verizon will give me a discounted price on data?

I know that works with landline phone and cable companies 😈

SCH-u740

IMO, Samsung makes cool gadgets but lousy phones. Terrible RF functionality. Last Sammy phone I had (SCH-A950) had reception quality not much better than a rock. However, the SCH-u740 has caught my eye. I have played around with it in the store and like the build quality and keyboard layout, love the feature set and dual hinge. In the store, the reception seemed to be pretty good.

I’ve read the PS reviews and forum for the phone but am coming here because this is where all the real Verizon phone experts hang out. Please provide opinion on RF quality of the SCH-u740. Currently carry Moto E815, so I’m used to excellent reception and don’t want to take a large step backward in reception quality.

Appreciate any feedback and apologize if t...

Did I get lucky?

About a wk and a half ago i called 611 and bought the 9400 using my NE2, so it came out to 260 something with tax. When I got the phone and called to activate the new 2 yr service along with the plan, it didnt work and said i had to call 611.
Anyway, I called and the lady just asked for the esn number and then said i was good to go. (Meaning I didn't renew my contract, she just activated it for me).
Its been a week since then so I called 611 and asked how much i was charged for the 9400 and they said 250 plus tax. The guy also said I could have used my NE2 on it.

So did I get lucky and i got the discount pricing and can use my NE2 on another phone? Also, when I called back the 2nd time the guy said if I renew my contract I would get ...

Why is Verizon W not compatible w/ 3rd party websites?

For instance.....since I am a St. Louis guy....and I partake in my fair share of AB products....I browsed on over to www.budlight.com and proceeded to d/l some ring tones that they seem to be offering for free on their website. However, to my shock and awe I saw that Verizon Wireless is the only company that is not compatible. Why is that?!

Anybody here use Howard Forums?

I just joined last night and I didn't get the premium plan thing. The text under your username in posts: how do you change that? I think you can only do it with the premium plan, but why does it change by itself? My first post said "Where's the powerbutton?" and I'm on my 10th post and now it says "Phone fan"

whatsup??!?!
