Gunny's Phone

Good news gun

Type S is on the new rebates ($50 rebate)
and it was just put on the approved device list

Although neither of these things points at a firm release date, it is good to know you weren't imagining the phone.

exchanging phone

This is kind of a long story, but I would REALLY appreciate any help you can give me.

I bought a KRZR K1m back in early November, and am now on my third one, having returned each previous phone because of defects. Now the phone I currently have randomly locks up WHILE I'm answering or dialing a number, forcing me to lose the call.
Recently, the phone has also begun to reset my ring tone for calls to "No Ring" so that my only indications I receive of a call is the alert beep two minutes after i missed the call and the screen, which is of no use to me while it's in my pocket.

My problem is this- I would like VERY much like a different phone, but Verizon isn't very willing to accommodate this. They tell me that my only option is for a re...

Which features does Verizon block?

My contract is up, so I am shopping for a new phone (although so far I haven't found one that I like better than my current one ☚ī¸ ). I've heard a lot in the past about Verizon blocking certain features, and I was wondering if they still do that, and which features they block. 😕

Is there any way to unblock those features? And are there any carriers that don't do that?

Verizon: LG Chocolate or Samsung SCH-U740?

Long story short:

I've had a chocolate since fall 06. Last weekend I was staying in a hotel and the phone slipped out of my pocket and into the toilet. It didnt work for awhile, and now only does when its plugged into the charger. ontop of that, the phone and its case smell like urine and are tainted as far as Im concerned, so I can no longer use them.

my mother paid $50 for a replacement chocolate and case through our warrenty. I have it in the shipping box right now. Before I open and activate it, I was thinking I might look at the SCH-U740.

I saw a friend with one and it looked pretty good. how is it compared to the chocolate? can it do everything l the chocolate can and more? please tell me more about it, and if I can I ...

verizon insufficient funds!

--------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------

my husband bought service with verizon wireless only because his boss has it. he returned the equipment under 14 days. he paid cash for the equipment and they told him you will get a check back in 3-5 business days. so we waited the 3-5 business days. did the check ever come, yea right! i emailed the president Denny Strigl about this and received a call back from one of his associates. She told me she would look into it and get back to me. by the time she had contacted me it had been a month and a half and still no check. and yet i still am waiting on a phone call back from his associate. Finally last week the check arrived after waiting 2 1/2 months for it. ...

Finally THE MAXX arrives!

Thankfully and finally news on the release of the maxx. I really was considering the LG8600 but heard the speakerphone was horrible . I also thought of the original razr because I really like the razr and my brother has it and really likes his (his battery life is even good) PLUS, I've never had any good luck with LGs that I've picked out. My two boys have the original LG bricktype phone and the new ENV which seem fine. I had the 6100 and it was awful! ANYWAY April 24th I'll be at the store waiting to get rid of my Q! I have had such great luck with Motorola phones in the past few years but I just don't like the pda/phone . Looking forward to the maxx.

test drive question

i still dont understand. i had someone come in today that is with nextel. their computer in the phone died, thay have insurance but because there is no physical damage, nextel wont replace it. they would like to switch carriers but their contract isnt up until november. would the "test drive" work in this situation? can people test drive if their contract isnt up yet? and then decide to cancel if they like verizon? or do they have to waitr util contract is up and shop around for a new carrier?

Blackberry Cyclone or HTC Titan 6800

According to Engadget, looks like both should be out soon, which one would you choose and why?

I like the 2mp camera in the 6800, as well as the addition of a thumb wheel.

Clear Phone Reception Overall

I have trouble hearing - too much rock music in my youth.
Is there one manufacturer that seems to have clearer/cleaner sounding phones?
I have tried both the Samsung u620 and u540 and they have an ecco sound. Currently have the Motorola old 325 - not bad in quite environments - but want to up-grade to phone with storage, music capabilities.
Would the motorola slvr / lg 8700 be better to wait for?
Thanks!

Is wifi fully functional?

I have a motorols V325 with Verizon and I'm happy with it. I've been shopping for a pda with wifi to record radio shows I'm currently recording on a pc over my home wireless network. It occurred to me that a wifi equipped smart phone (Samsung SCH-i730 maybe) might do the same thing, and would give more more options in terms of which appliance to buy. My question is can such a phone access wireless networks just like my laptop or is the wifi aspect crippled in any way by verizon. At least initially, I wouldn't care about the phone functions. My hope would be to record to a memory card. Thanks all.

The Government does even want Sprint anymore

http://rcrnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/200703 ... »

Im curious as to what Nextel18 has to say about this. This is a huge contract. And for a person who touts Sprint as the greatest data company. Apparently the government doesnt think so.
