8 Confessions Of A Former Verizon Sales Rep
http://consumerist.com/consumer/verizon/8-confession ... »

A former Verizon sales rep, let's call him Steve, wrote to us recently offering insider advice to all Consumerist readers. We were excited because by knowing how the sales force at Verizon are compensated, consumers can get an edge when haggling over a new phone. What? Haggling!? Over a phone!? Yes, even you can do it. Verizon Steve confesses all he knows, from the simple to the sublime...:

RAZR V3i *used to be called* RAZR 2.

I Googled Motorola V3i and one of the entries was what you see below. Notice that it says that the V3i was previously dubbed the RAZR2. So that clarifies my confusion. -Lorna

8500 software flash question

i have the cherry chocolate and my fiance has the black chocolate. he's in love with the menus and backgrounds that i get on my cherry. when we go get our phones flashed, he wants the store to flash it with the VX-8500R (cherry) software to get the interface and displays i have.

we've been looking everywhere to find an answer. a sales rep (who seemed new) said it could fry the phone forever. i called tech support and asked them next. they said it should work fine, cause the phones are the same, just different color.

i side with tech support, but does anyone know if this isnt a good idea?

list of verizon phones with stereo bluetooth

I am looking for a verizon phone with stereo bluetooth to use for listening to MP3's.

Does verizon (or any other carrier) have a phone with this feature?

I can't find any lists of which phones have this, and I'll be damned if I ask the thugs at my local store.

have you ever heard of this happening?

my friend has the phone from verizon ( the one that came out before the env but looks just like it) i forget what its called but any way, she claims her phone was off on her dresser not by any heat liquid or anything that could cause any harm. so she brings her phone to school and shes like it melted! now that phone is like solid metal i think and the whole side of it was just like crushed in and melted like someone took a blow torch to it or something. She swears up and down that it was off on her dresser and she did absolutely nothing to it. she said she heard like a buzzing or something in it and the next thing she knew it was all destroyed on the side. when she called verizon they said they had never heard of such a thing and they wouldn...

New PDA pricing - 2 year.

I was talking to one of the online chat sales reps about the 2 year price on PDAs and he said that that price requires a Data Bundle plan, not just a 2 year agreement. Is this true? Seems a little off to me.

vzw razr question

So I am totally frustrated with my new vzw razr.
I cannot find a way to change the home screen softkeys to something different besides messages on the left and contacts on the right. Any help?

I upgraded from an E815 which died on me after about 18 months of use...screens just died.

Loudest Phone from verizon wireless

I'm buying a new phone, and the only features I'm concerned with are 1)the loudest ring volume, and 2) decent speakerphone. Vibe/Ring would be nice too.

Any suggestions??

LG enV LG 9400

I've had my 8100 for almost two years now, and I have loved it up until now. Recently, my battery has begun draining very fast, and one of the little pieces in the charge/plug in broke. Now, I have to make sure there is pressure on the cord, so that it will charge, even though it doesn't last me very long. But here is my real question, I need to get a new phone. I've been looking at the enV and the 9400, and I've got to say that I love both designs. I could easily get the enV now, but is the 9400 worth waiting for until late March?? What do you guys think?
