Switched to Verizon today.

Got the Casio G-zone Ravine and I love how durable it is. Reception is pretty good too and I love the keypad.

In my area, it just makes sense to go with Verizon, they have the entire tri-state region covered liked crazy.

Good night.

Voice Mail Alerts on the Fascinate

I only get one beep when I miss a call and no real notifications that I have a V-mail. On the older phones they would remind you like every 3 minutes. I can not find a way to change that? Does anyone know how to change it or is their an app that I can download for reminders. One I did see was for GSM phones only? Thanks in advance 🙂

UPGRADE

So my wife has verizon service and she is due for an upgrade. We are thinking about either upgrading her line and sticking with verizon another two years or switching her to my dealer plan with tmo. So heres my question. She loves sense ui and gets on facebook all the time and games. She hates the way android ui looks. I refuse to let her upgrade to the incredible since it is so old and its likely to be phased out in 4 or 5 months. We are looking at the droid x but if there is something out there worth waiting for i would love to know. Especially if it has sense ui.

Droid Pro question/ Rant (sorry)

Is there any way to remove the "stock" apps/programs that I don't' want and never will without rooting the phone? Skype, City ID, etc.... I have not downloaded them and NEVER open them yet almost every time I go to my task killer, they are listed as running. So apparently they run on their own and use up battery (which sucks to begin with). If I can't delete them, any way I can make it so they don't run? That is pretty much my only complaint about Droids....I understand that some apps need to run for other things to work but I can't think of any reason why Skype, City ID, VZ Navigator, Amazon MP3, Voice Command would need to run if I don't open them and as "little of a problem" that it may seem to be, it really pisses me off. I had a bl...

Hey guys I'm new to verizon. I signed up last saturday. i came from the palace of dropped calls and lost signal.. AT&T. I just wanna say the verizon ads are not hype. i get great coverage/service everywhere and 3G. also my calls dont drop, on a 2 hour call and didnt drop. i was really suprised.

With that said, I got the droid X, did i make a good choice? i wanted a big screen and HDMI.
oh yeah is there anyway to turn off that voice evertime you make or recieve a call?... when i get a call it say " verizon wireless" then the phone rings and vice versa. thanks.

Dont shop Authorized Verizon Retailers' store in Northern Nevada

Truth be told, 😲 I have found that Authorized Verizon Retailer stores in Northern Nevada dont care about you. 👿 The ONLY important element is making the sale...they pay 3=bucks for cheaply made accessories and sell em for 29.99. 😲 With only a couple of exceptions, the only reason any staff acts like they care is cause they can and will lose their job by not meeting their closely watched quotas. 👿

They have no problem selling a 68 year old customer a droid phone thy cant use and dont want by making them feel stupid for not understanding how to use one. 😈 They have cheap phones but pretend to be out, "but here's a Droid!" Then, they often criticize and laugh at folks who leave the store cause they just wanted a b...

Just Curious

How does Verizon handle warranty exchanges?
Is it the same with AT&T's XBM? 🙂

I find it entertaining

that Verizon is breaking the cliché of engaging in price wars solely with AT&T, with their recent introduction of the Unlimited Any Mobile Plan. Call me a Sprint fanboy if you'd like, but I reckon Verizon is fearful of Sprint's potential to steal a hefty portion of the market.

It's no longer an opinion that Sprint is gaining speed - they started the year off with positive customer growth (a first for Sprint in years). As Sprint regrows their brand image and appeal, their aggressive pricing guarantees success. Verizon already attracts the largest appeal, but it lacked in the pricing department - until now.

Of course, VZW's $59.99 does not include unlimited data. In order to get what Sprint offers with the $69.99 Everything Data 450 ...

Can't decide between the Droid X and The Samsung Fascinate please help

I will be coming from a rooted Droid 1 with a Seidio extended battery. I want to be able to root the phone (using maybe z4 root) and have the best battery life. I wonder which is the better choice? I want a new phone because my droid 1 has signal problems at my house which renders it useless some times. Its weird that 3 signal bars will drop to 1 or none when I answer or make a call. I have thought about upgrading the rom to a rooted 22G or a cyanogen rom to solve the signal problem or I could try a new phone for 30 days to see if that solves the signal problem. But then I am back to the original question which phone!

BOGO Question

Ok, here's the deal. I have 4 phones on my line, 3 are eligable for an upgrade at this time, 2 will be getting new phones this month, maybe. If I go to Best Buy I must pay the activation fee and of course sales tax (it's California after all) so I'm looking at about $85.

If I go to Vz:
Both phones still have the BIG NE2 credit (I know it's the last time), can I use one or both? Will I have to pay the activation fee (it's been a while and I can't remember anymore, sorry); of course there is still the sales tax. I'm hoping Vz is the better choice, frankly I feel more comfortable dealing with their Reps than BB's.
Thanks in advance for any help..
