MobileWeb 2.0 WAP and Phonescoop.com

Has anyone ever tried this? I went to wap.google.com on my phone and then typed in phonescoop.com and the second search result that came up, i clicked on it, and I was able to get to the verizon forum page and read all the posts just like i was on the computer. you can even make a post.

only problem is it takes a long time to scroll down to lower messages that are posted.

has anyone ever tried this? in the past i have tried just going to this website but it only lets you view recent phones and the news...so i thought this was pretty cool.

CDMA Buzz-Words EV-DO Rev C as UMB

General News
Written by Christopher Price
Tuesday, 05 December 2006
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) today chose to brand the future 1xEV-DO Revision C standard as "Ultra Mobile Broadband" or UMB for short. The CDG is making this change in an effort to position EV-DO Rev C to better compete against more well-known standards such as WiMAX and WiBro.

The CDG expects Rev C to be completed in whitepaper form in the second quarter of 2007. The CDG also expects the first network hardware to be available in 2009. This compares to the stated timeframe of WiMAX for 2008, and the already-deployed WiBro outside of the U.S.

EV-DO Rev C incorporates much of the technology of the now-dead EV-DV system. Prominently, the support for a co...

On Line Rebates

I was planning to purchase a phone from the verizon website at 'full retail' as a Christmas present. Last week I was in the process of completing the transaction when a chat now pop up appeared. I decided to take advantage of that to make sure i had covered all bases. I was informed that I had 6 days to have the phone activated or I would incur additional fees. I opted to wait until closer to the hoiday to try to avoid the cost. Well - at the time there was a $50.00 instant rebate being offered, I went on line today and it's gone. When I called CS, I was informed that there would not be a discount for full retail purchases - i tried to explain i was at check out and ready to pay WITH the $50.00 discount but they disagreed!!!!

If I know more than you....

...Please don't try to BS me and sell me a phone. I went to a VZW store near me cuz I was ready for my NE2 and I was looking the 9900. I had done my homework, as I do before purchasing any new phone because odds are I'm gonna have it for awhile. Well, I walk in, sing in and wait for someone to help me. I was looking at the 9900 and someone finally came over. He looked like he was about 13 and had 3 phones hanging from his belt, so I thought, OK...he's young and he's obviously into phones, hopefully he can help me. I started asking questions about the EnV, and the first couple, I already knew the answers to, but I wanted to know if he knew. The first question I asked was if you could use the speaker phone with the phone closed. He sai...

Verizon & the "V' series

Seeing as how popular the 9800 was and how the popular the 9900 already is.....Do you guys think that Verizon & LG will continue the series?? The only way I was able to get the 9900 was to go get one shipped to me!! All the stores in my area had sold out of them!! I am away at college and even went home to find one, but same thing there. They were ALL sold out. The Sidekick has a pretty good following, but most people don't want to get caught up in the cliche. The thing with the 9800 & 9900 is that u can have a great phone without drawing to much attention to yourself. I think I notice everytime someone with a Sidekick around me "whips" the damn thing open. Its noisy and not really cool to me!! But the 9900 can open quietly and no one around...

Best Buy - What do they have the power to do?

Can Best Buy add a line to my Verizon family plan or can they only do new accounts? They seem to have good pricing on phones.

Future EVDO coverage area

On Verizon's website, if you display the broadband/vcast network, is the pinkish area future broadband/vcast coverage? They have an the key on the left side, and it does say Broadband Access &
VCAST (future coverage)

but the color is missing. So I'm assuming this is the pink areas on the map. If anybody knows that would be great, as I see my area has the pink color on it, and I would be able to try VCAST for the first time

Placing music on my new verizon phone

I have installed the verizon USB software on my Windows XP MCE computer, but I cannot get WMP10 to recognize my phone. Any tips on how to get the sync to work? Also, is there any program that will allow me to just drag and drop songs onto my phone? I have a LG vx8500 if that matters.

VZW Signs up Revver
Verizon Wireless
Written by James Ripley
Thursday, 30 November 2006
A day after announcing the YouTube deal VZW signed up with Revver. This deal will allow VZW's V CAST customers to access Revver's content in early December.

"V CAST subscribers will have access to some of the most popular content from a variety of Revver’s video creators chosen from categories on Revver.com, such as Editor’s Picks, Viral Video Classics, Extreme Sports, Laughs, Animation, and Cute Overdose. Revver will provide new video clips each week to V CAST, and content will be refreshed twice a week."

Once again VZW's V CAST customers will be limited to the content chosen by VZW/Revver for your "viewing pleasure".

Lg 9900 or Samsung U-740

I just bought the lg 9900. I still have time to return it. I am liking the look of the Samsung U-740. Is it supposed to have the mobile tv? What should I do? I am totally confused. 👀 Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

After reading verizons PRL

They don't roam much with Sprint. And when they do its like the last Priority which verizon is sprints last priority but they at least list verizon in every area of the country that verizon has service.

Verizon UI?

Can someone please explain to me what the big deal is with Verizon's UI is?
I read the defintion about UI, I have a Moto e815 which works great ALL the time. Please explain to me what an UI is, and how it would effect me using my phone.
I have been with Verizon three years, I had LG VX-6000 phone which never failed me. I decided to get the Moto E815, which I love and have no desire to change to anything new out there.
As for Verizon network and and customer service I think they are the best. I had Cingular pre-paid (I'm glad I never signed a contract with them) and I had T-Mobile prepaid (their customer service was very good, but their coverage was lacking).
Does Verizon have any phones out there that can do everything my Mo...

What's the "New" Bluetooth Policy?

What I am referring to is the inconsistent crippling of the BT profiles. One month they are there, the next release they are gone, the next release they are all back, etc. Then another phone comes out with a different set for the same carrier.

Bluetooth is the only OFF NETWORK service that goes that way, so you see each manufacturer has a disclaimer like "Certain Bluetooth profiles are carrier dependant."

No other feature set has that on the off-network features already engineered into the phone. You don't see "Bluetooth, alarm clock, expansion cards, calculator, Hearing Aid Compatible, Multiple Languages, built-in mini-USB connector, Voice Dialing, Streaming Video, Camera, Voice Memo, etc., are carrier dependant" by any manufacturer. ...
