Hello Verizon,

I have been working as a sales rep for Cingular for 2 years now and it always seems to be "cingular vs verizon". Its understandable, we are the two biggest carriers out there. I get more Verizon ports than any other carrier just as im sure you guys get more Cingular ports than any other carrier.

When people come in and ask me "who really gets better coverage cingular or verizon?" I always answer the same "well mr/mrs customer, it depends on where you are, and where you are going"

Lets, as rivals, agree on a few things.

1. Our coverage is pretty much neck and neck. Independet research A may say Verizon has the best network while independent research B may say Cingular does. But lets just concede that we are ...

I upgraded my phone today and the sales guy charged me a $50 transfer fee. I've never paid that in the past. Is this a new charge?

Does anyone know anything about it?

When someone from my address book calls me their number displays but not the name. Is there a way to fix this? If so, how?

My question is, can i buy a prepaid phone, lets say from walmart and activate on a post paid account? The reason why I want to buy the phone is, that is my father in-laws birthday and i was looking on getting him a new phone. Because the one that he has is the motorola v60i which he had for way to many years (the phone has had way more accidents than any phone I had, the phone will only charge went it wants to, theres dirt all over and inside too, there way too many think to list). Another question is, will the insurance cover those phones if in the near future something happens to it?

Do any of you reps know exactly when the new contract terms go into effect? I am talking about the new terms that pro rate the ETF if you cancel early? VZ announced that these would be going into effect sometime soon now and I'd like to wait for them before I sign a new contract. They will not apply to existing contracts according to the article I read.

I noticed that now on 'my account' there is a link for 'text/picture messaging' detail. So all the parents who are whining about their little one's usage of text messaging will be able to see WHEN and to whom their messages are going. Inbounds from other carriers don't seem to have the origination number though...

My NE2 came today...and I thought I would've chosen a phone by now, but I haven't. I left my current phone's charger in CA, so my phone has been living off my car charger...which is why a new phone would be nice. I have limited my choices to the LG 8300, Chocolate or the RAZR v3m. It seems that the 8300 is a favorite among phonescoop members - but for some reason doesn't really appeal to me, the Chocolate has received very mixed reviews on its reception, and the RAZR - from what I've read on here and other places - has pretty good reception. I'm looking for a phone that has (#1) great reception, and (#2) other bells and whistles are nice but won't be the deciding factor on whether or not I'll buy it. I just need to buy the card. I already have the chocolate but need to buy the card can I buy it seperate or do I have to buy it with the phone? I couldn't buy it separate online that's why I ask. Also how much are they?

Does anyone have any date on when this phone will be released? All I know is that it is supposed to be in Q3 of this year.

Ok, I have to ask. I'm on the phone with VZW tech support and in the middle of trying to fix my e-mail problem the girl says try to go to purple.com. A minute later she says try to send another e-mail and gets back to working on my problem.
No further reference to purple.com or anything. It's like she never said it.
So about ten minutes later as we are waiting for my Q to start up I ask her why she mentioned that website. Her response is "oh I wanted you to go to a website that wasn't in your cache". ????????? WTF ???????
That still doesn't answer my question and it doesn't make any sense.

Is this a joke like the "meow" thing or what?

people always say well its my number and im paying for it.....read the contract you are payin for a service and if vzw wanted to they can stop service at anytime, so unbilled info is not the customers info until the bill PRINTS

No offense but the people calling in this week, s....!!!!!!!!!!!! Complaining about extremely riduculousy things! Dropped calls, ok I am up for that but...the rest of the calls have been unbelivable!! (wah, I can't acces the web, hey did you think for 1 moment it could be your PC that is the issue!) I can log in just fine! I sit there sometimes thinking to myself, hmmm... I personally have had extreme tragic in my family, these people must have no earthly idea of what is most important in life... Hey, maybe just me, but I don't get it. Cell phones service, etc is NOT the most important thing! Life does go on!!! (Just my thoughts of course, it has been a long week!)

I've had the Motorola Q for about a month and am ready to change due to the daily freeze-ups. I am looking at getting either the Treo 700p or the Blackberry 7130e. Any suggestions as to which one is better?

I added another line to my family plan and I didn't buy a new phone but instead used a phone I already owned. This was done at a corporate store and a now this line has a one year contract. Is this correct? Since I am not having to subsidize a new phone shouldn't this be off contract.

The sales guy was very indignant about the whole thing, at first he told me the phone wasn't E911 compatible, which I knew wasn't true. I guess I must have cheated him out of a commission, although this particular store has a reputation of bad service.

These guys have been very agressive at winning spectrum with great bandwidth in the "F" block.
