Carrier Reviews

Can anyone provide a website listing an un-biased review of the major cell phone carriers in North America? I just wanna see if Verizon is on top like they should be.

I know lets talk has rated Verizon the best... http://www.letstalk.com/reviews/reviewlist.ht m?pgId=101

Verizon Launching Live T.V. Service??

I talked to a sales person today and he said Verizon is coming out with a service which you can watch live TV. on your handset through satellites. He said the network is EV-DX. He said it will require a software upgrade for phones already out.

Cingular Rocks!

๐Ÿ˜ KIDDING but I figured that would get someones attention here. I'm Chris, I've lurked here for several months and thought I'd finally stop and come out in the open.

I have a question for all of our technicians at the stores...I own the Razr (yeah yeah I know) and I'm not really having any problems with it except the data for Mob Web sticks if I'm not careful. The software update is out but is it true that if I get the update my outside LCD screen will turn color and also not save wallpaper to it?

Need an expert on verizon coverage and plans please >>>

I live in zipcode 73160 about 40% of the year. This area is known as an "Extended Digital" area for Verizon. My questions is will my IN minutes work here, and will my data work here too? I am so confused becuase on the coverage map at verizon.com when I look up the "NationalAccess & Enhanced Services" it shows my area to be "Extended Service Area* ". That little asterik next to it prompted me to look down below and read the fine print...and this is what I see "*NationalAccess extended service area for PC Cards, Blackberryร‚ยฎ Solutions, PDA and SmartPhones only.". So if I get the Q will my data work, and will I have IN calling?

Thanks...very confused here...

EVDO termination due to more than 10GB use

Articles are coming out that Verizon is canceling users who use more than 10GB of bandwidth in a single month. The terminations are on the unlimited data plans.
http://www.evdoinfo.com/Tips/PC_5220/Use_SlingBox%2C ... »

Has anybody done the math on this? A gigabyte is 1,073,741,824 bytes, so 10GB would be 10,737,418,240 bytes, correct?

500Kbps of bandwidth = 500,000 bytes per second is the advertised bandwidth, let's say. The Verizon website advertisement actually says:
Download complex files and large email attachments easily at average speeds of 400- 700 kbps, capable of bursts up to 2 Mbps.

My calculations say that you could use up your "unlimited use" in just 6 Hours.

Treo 700p - Messaging alert

Hi everyone. I just picked up my treo 700p for verizon this past weekend. Love it!! I had the 650 a year ago with Cingular so I'm pretty familiar with the new unit and have had palm since the pilot 3.

My question deals with Messaging.

Seems whenever I send out a txt message, a few seconds later the phone plays the messaging alert to let me know the txt went through. Kinda annoying cause I think I'm getting an incoming message when I'm not. Does anyone know how to disable this or has this happened to anyone else?? I've looked at the preferences as well as sound prefs and nothing on it. Is it supposed to do that?? Anyone know what i'm talking about?? Please let me know. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks.

VERIZON needs to update their network or something

i switch from verizon to sprint a few weeks back and just can't believe how superior Sprint call clarity is. What can cause such a huge differences in one experience? i mean verizon calls where ok, but sometimes garbled and don't come in very loud. With my new sprint phone my calls are so crystal clear and loud. So how did verizon get this most reliable network label, they seem really sub par honestly.

End of life for the E815!?!?!

I received first hand information from the Motorola representative that the E815 is end of life. Not surprising since it has been out over a year. Motorola is considering putting Bluetooth in the 325 as a replacement.

Verizon customer needs new phone. Best strategy?

My contract is past its expiration date, I don't use many minutes (I really only need my phone to be available for the nanny) and I'd like to keep my current Verizon service, but I need a new phone. What's the best way to get a good price? I'm thinking about going with the Moto E815 based on what I've read here. How do I avoid having to pay full retail?
