Best phones for reception in marginal signal area

I live in a rural area with spotty reception in places. We now have a Motorola V 265 and a Samsung a650, which give us adequate reception. Yesterday I dropped the Motorola in a parking lot and it got run over, so I need a new phone. I require only basic service features. Any advice on which Verizon phones have the best reception in rural marginal reception areas?

8000, 8100, vs 8300 + where do you get the best deals?

I'm afraid that my Sam A670 is not aging gracefully, and I wanted to get a new phone...

I'm choosing between the LG 8000, 8100 and the 8300 -- obviously the 8300 is nicer, but which one do you think is the best value per buck? And are the 8000 and 8300 as hackable as the 8100?

Finally, what are good places to look for used phones? Share forum links, suggestions, etc here!

Thanks,
iav

Choose 1 - LX8300 OR Moto E815

Hi all ...

I'm going to get a new phone on Tuesday. I'm stuck between getting the LG 8300 or the Moto E815. Using this criteria, what phone would you choose ??

1. Call clarity
2. Screen(s) resolution
3. Ringtone sounds
4. U.I
5. Overall build quality.

The camera, bluetooth is not important to me.I'm just looking for a good sounding, good looking quality phone. Any help would be great !! Thanks !!

Sim Cards

Why is Verizon difficult and not let people use those Sim Cards or w/e they are called that you can interchange from most phones from carriers that arent verizon? It would be much more convenient.

Charging port on the 8300

Some guy just came into my store with an 8300. My store doesn't have any yet so I haven't had the chance to mess with them. I noticed that the charging port is different. Will the 8100 charger still work on it, or is it going to require all new equipment?

Dropped calls??

At many points at my house in Bellevue, a half mile from Microsoft, I have been having problems.

My calls drop a lot...sometimes even every 5 minutes or so. Really hard to talk to my boyfriend for an hour when it does that.

I was going to ask if having a lot of computers on could affect that, but my boyfriend had the same thing happen this morning.

He gets a call from his customer, he sells Verizon.

"Do you have my car chrager?"

"Not yet but I have.." Phone goes quiet. "Your number."

He looks on the screen to read "Call Lost" and tries to call her back.

She thinks he hung up on her and refuses to answer her phone.

So, me and Will aren't the only ones with issues in my house in the middle of the fricken city.

mobiledia.com predictions on the Samsung A990, accurate?

Does anyone know how accurate mobiledia is with their predictions on new phone releases? (http://www.mobiledia.com/phones/date/q3-2006 .html). I'm really interested in the Samsung A990, which they predict coming out in Q3 for Verizon. I'm will to wait until September for it… but if it's not going to come out by then, I'd probably just get a different phone now.

Need help with Verizon LG VX8100 VCast phone

I have just learned how to put ringers on my phone thru howardforum.com by sending them as a text message and then saving the sound. Then I select the sound and "Move" it. Then I use Bitpim to transfer the ringer from the sound file to the ringer file. I still have some sound files that I cannot put as ringer because when I try to "move" them, it says memory full. Is this the phones memory? I have a 512mb card that is still half free so I do not understand what is "full". When I go to "manage memory" under settings and then to phone memory, it says that "my sounds" has "no content saved". I have realized that if I do not select "move", it will not show up on Bitpim. Please help! What am I doing wrong?
