ive noticed the 7270 and 7130 have both dropped in price on the website. does that mean the 8700 is right around the corner?

Moto Q...How Fast?!

Ok so i've come across this question a number of times and i was able to pry the answer out of Moto.
The processor speed of the Moto Q is 313 Mhz.

Not sure why this is absolutely nowhere in the manual, in reviews, etc. i myself think the processor speed is something important (atleast to me) and i have to say i'm a bit disappointed, i would've hoped for 400+ but hopefully with the windows mobile 5.0 Smartphone software it doesn't need to be as fast as the full pda version.

ok, so now I gotta get a phone of my own

Items of interest:

Q - effective in what I want to do, but kinda worried about the call clarity.

9800 - love the idea, hate the size. And the newer version will be thinner, but I cant wait that long.

8300 - only attracted to this because of the flash ui.

Hmmmm

Please explain plan upgrade procedure.

Okay- my current plan is America's Choice 2, 450 peak minutes with unlimited IN calling and unlimited night and weekends. I also have Mobile Web 1.0.

I am trying to use my NE2 on the website to upgrade my phone to the 8300. When I say I want to upgrade, it gives me a long list of phones it says is 'available with my current plan' and a short list of phones that I would need to get a 'plan upgrade' in order to use. (Whatever that means.) The 8300 is on this short list.

But here's the thing: I go to upgrade and get to the end where the plan summary is. Poof! My unlimited IN calling is gone. Poof! my unlimited nights and weekends is gone. Poof! My corporate discount is gone. It also shows Mobile Web 1.0 still even though I selecte...

Thinking of Joining VZW from TMO

Just looking for some feedback before I make the move. Many of my friends/family use VZW and they include the free M2M where TMO charges 7. x month. Also, depending on the city TMO doesn't have the greatest coverage.

I am currently living in the DFW metroplex. Any signal issues?

Any other info is wanted as well.

Thanks in advance all.

Why Would Verizon Do This?

I went into a Verizon Store today for two things:

1. Look at Q
2. Return my Razr Extended Battery

I bought the Extended Battery and charged it into my account. I went to return it today and the woman said that I couldn't return it without the receipt. But it is on my account, why do I need a receipt? Thanks

Walmart...at it again!

Walmart "sells" Inpulse. I say "sells" in quotes because it is strictly cash and carry. In fact, if you purchase the phone and go to their "communication central" stand they tell you that they CANNOT activate the phone. The customer must call the 800. The customer comes into my store. They don't want to call that number, they just want to activate the phone. I enter the order into EROES and activate it for the customer.

On my next month's statement, I am being shown commission for activating that customer. Fine. I accept that. I should be. Walmart then calls my rep screaming that there were a couple phones that they had that we got paid for activating. So in other words, if the customer calls that 800 number to activate...the ...

Not taking advantage of promo pricing at the point of sale..

I recently resigned my position at Verizon Wireless. Around Easter, I got a phone for my younger sister. I wasn't sure exactly how she would take care of it, so I used one of the many old phones I had to start her service instead of taking advantage of promotional pricing on a new phone. Last week I decided to get her an upgrade because she’s done well with the one we initially started service with. When I called to upgrade, I expected to be able to take advantage of promo pricing because I had not at the point of sale. Instead, the rep I was working with (from the Alabama call center) told me that because I did not take advantage at the point of sale, I waiverd(

Technicians UNITED

Anyone remember the days we could acutally open the phones up and fix them? The days of actually helping a customer are over, and I miss them. If you were to fix 10 phones a day, saving $150 per fru (fru cost) that would be $30,000 a month we would be saving verizon individualy... boggling. Who makes these decisions anyway.

I'm thinking about changing our job title. Changing it from Customer Service Technician, to Technical Suggestive Sellers. Would you like Data with that fru today mam?

It wouldn't be so bad if they actually compensated us for anything we sold. Hell, even 50 cents a data or something. This way, when we end up with 100 data for the month we could pocket $50. Crap, they buy accessories for literally $1.25 wholesale from...

A Tale of Two Companies

I am a pretty satisfied with my Verizon Wireless service and I happened to stumble upon this little bit of information.

http://www.taleof2companies.com/ »

I am curious if Verizon Wireless employees are really mistreated when it comes to unionizing or if this is just Cingular propaganda.

Is insurance worth it?

I have never had insurance on any of my VZW phones but I am considering getting it on my Q because it doesn't feel like it would survive a drop. Have any of you had dealings with replacing a phone? In other words if I drop my phone and break it, do they make it difficult/impossible to get a new one?

I assume you would get a refurb but from what I read they don't guarantee that you will even get the same type of phone. If this is true?

Any negative or positive input you have would be helpful.

Im noticing a trend lately, thoughts?

It seems like the past few weeks we have seen a serious influx of preteen posters who spam in all caps with nonsensical jibber jabber, usually about sprint or tmobile being number one. as an example

YO WHATEVER DOGG DONT LISTEN TO THESE FOOS SPRINT HAS THE BEST NETWORK IN CHI TOWN AND THEY GUARANTEE THAT YOUR PHONE WILL NEVER BREAK IF IT DOES WE WILL REPLACE IT FOR FREE EVEN IF YOU RUN IT OVER WITH A CAR AND ALSO USUALLY THE CAR WILL BREAK NOT THE PHONE CUZ THE CAR CANT HANDLE THIS HOT FIRE SPRINT NETWORK NUMBER ONE!

its getting somewhat annoying and it clutters up the forum. Discuss
