New phone decision--Vx9800??? or 9900?

I need a new phone, as I have been living with a crappy 710 for too long. The V is what I am test driving now, but I haven't decided if I love it or not. Does anyone know when the 9900 might come out, if at all? Is there another candy bar style phone coming out? I want a good phone first and foremost, so that matters a lot. Am I wrong to try and go with the non-flip-- in other words, look at the new 8300 or something else?

Sorry for all the questions, but I have to decide soon and I am at a loss. The V might be the answer, but I am worried about it being obsolete in a few months.

Please help if you can.

Thanks

BT and MP3 for dummies

Okay- I'm new to this phone-playing-music thing but lately I've been looking at the 8300 and it seems to have all these neat music features. So I can get the most out of this phone, can I get someone to tell me what I can expect from these features and whether there are hidden costs involved? In particular:

1) Can I download the MP3's from my home computer to my phone? Yes- I know I can, but how about hidden costs? Do I need special accessories or can I use the Bluetooth feature since my home computer is on a wireless network?

2) Speaking of Bluetooth, can I listen to these tunes on a BT accessory or do I have to have wired headphones?

3) When I play these tunes will I be charged airtime? Seems like a dumb question I know but I...

Is there an alternative to active sync for the Q?

After much trial and tribulation, I find it frustratng that active sync makes you use Media Player to manage your media fies with the Q. I haven't figured out a way to transfer pictures to my ohne from my desktop. Just video and music. Is there a third party app out there that will liberate me from active sync?

8300 In hand and we might have a winner ?? - 1st Thoughts and Review !

Hey guys -

Well after a long drawn out battle and some string pulling, I got my store to sell me a 8300 on a 2 year upgrade today. They still had 120 8100's and did not want to part with 8300's yet.. But they did 🙂

Okay so let's first keep in mind , I did extensive testing on the 8100 and 950 and the 930 a few weeks ago and the Q as of yesterday..

So the first thing we always test is Voice Quality - This is most important to us.. I am very pleased to announce that LG has done something new and this seems to be great.. Almost every Import phone has what we call Deaf Ear Syndrome. What that means is that you do not hear what you are saying back in your own ear. They are designed this way to avoid feedback and noise. Our home phones ...

What's special about the corporate store's warrenty?

OKay, So I heard in the forum about Verizon's new even slower process of signing up that...

SForsyth01 mentioned that you can only get a warranty on Verizon phones through their corporate store...

HOWEVER, isn't the manufacturer's warranty just the same--which you can get wherever you buy your phone? The warrenty's are usually only good for internal problems, not external, such as water damage, dropping it, blowing it up on purpose...etc. Right? I've always planned on going to corporate stores for anything I needed, but since I heard they won't be carrying Nokias through Verizon direct (Nokia doesn't use Verizon's UI), I had planed on getting my 6265 somewhere else. (When it comes out) So what would I be missing out on?

Anxiovert knows that CDMA > GSM. (proof)

My 1st Cell Phone

by Anxiovert Feb 27, 2004
The Motorola T720 it's been my 1st and only cell phone I have never had any problems with it, I think other people are having problems with this cell phone because of their carriers , it is unfair to judge it for problems due to GSM carriers, it is know that GSM technology it not the greatest, I have a CDMA carier and I've never ever had any drop calls, I even use my cell in the lift, at work other people wonder who's my provider just because they're amazed because I use my cell in the lift and I can carry a conversation up or down the 10 stories of my building.
Pros: The keys are perfectly designed, no weird shapes or tiny buttons all clustered together.
Cons: The battery it doesnt last ...

Just got back with my Q and the voice quality is a big issue !

Guys,

Drove 45 minutes tonight to Woodbridge NJ where the VZW store was happy to sell me a Q..

As you may know from my posts and reviews , I am very picky when it comes to Voice Quality. This has always been very important to me and my colleagues considering these things are phones and the conversation should be crystal clear. The features are secondary but important as well.

I spent many years with AT&T and we did lots of voice quality testing for all kinds of Broadband, IP phones and Voice over DSL which was somewhat invented in our lab in NJ. I do know what sounds good and bad.

Soooo. I am truly dissapointed - My first 5 calls were to friends who are all techno guys who do this testing with me each time there is a new phone i...

8300 and Q have arrived

Received ours today can't sell them for four more days.

Impressions.

Q is allright would prefer the 6700 or 700 but if slim is your thing its not bad has a decent 4x zoom

8300 allot like the 8100 the flash reminds me of animated wallpapers little smaller of a phone. Havnt played with it to much and my store doesn't have bluetooth stereo headsets so I can't try the. However you can secret menu and the .mp3 option is still there.

Direct stores are selling the /
Q,8300,930 all at the same time I think launch date is June 4th or 5th I forget?
